  1. Tell that to the people who had breathing difficulties due to drunken idiots in baseball caps.
  2. They might not eat people but I know they will beat them up. You are sounding very naive BF.
  3. Completely agree. It is funny though how people in other countries can drink and be fine, there's nowhere near as much violence in Ireland for example and they drink as much as the English. I ony suggested the licensing hours as I know its been banded about for some time now and also there is a lot less violence on nights out over here and clubs are open all night where you can drink until around 8 or 9am - not thats that is a good thing.
  4. In refering to quality posts i meant the first 2 after my initial post. And Bob Flemming if you are playing them down as nothing incidents then you are someone with little integrity. However this doesnt surprise me. Whether people were charged or not, it shouldnt have happened in the first place. Also as for people behaving in Blackburn on sat night then perhaps that shouldnt happen as much either. The way to do it is to cut down on binge drinking. Perhaps extend licensing hours past 11pm? As unfortunately i cant see people changing their nasty drinking habits.
  5. Quality posts the above 2. I agree that they report anything they can find on tv, just couldnt find it on websites and on Sky they seemed to play it down. I had a gut feeling something had happened when i woke up this morning and lo-and behold, as soon as I picked up Marca, there it was. bbc.co.uk/sport is now carrying a story showing a picture of a 'typical' looking thug. It really makes me angry, and I was also against a ban but to be honest it is another way of perhaps really turning all the decent people against these idiots and it is our responsibility to eliminate the problems they cause, not the poor Portugues authorities, who turned up for work last night and were abused by the idiots in the photos. It's bad enough for the people in Lisbon that the english 'fans' dont blend in with the culture and go around drunk in the streets, without having to stand this barbaric hooligan behavior.
  6. Funny how the english press are playing down what happened last night. Nothing on bbc.co.uk and apparently 'minor scuffles' ocurred accrding to sky.com/news (playing it down as if it was ok - unbelievable!). In case you dont know as it's not being reported over there much but a group of english 'fans' threw a gas cannister into the middle of a popular local event in Lisbon at about 1am in the morning. It was a procession i think and Marca reported that people experienced breathing difficulties and eye irritations. Not many were arrested as they managed to get away from riot police. It really makes me angry that people are sick enough to do this, they obviously have very sad and boring lives if they call this their idea of fun, and I know the excuse will be that they had been drinking, but if thats what you do when you drink then you shouldnt drink at all. Disgusted.
  7. oh and leave Tugay alone. I would love to see him still here at 35
  8. ptholt you know nothing about football! Anyway if you are on holiday why dont you go and see some of the place, get some cultural things done instead of acting like a typical english yob/fan(if you can call the ones that drink all day that) then enjoy the footbal on the day but without making our country look even worse. ok?
  9. At least we know why you are called parasyte now! Perhaps add very ignorant and brainless to that one.
  10. Yes languages are important for jobs. Language graduates are the most employable and are in the lowest unemployed group according to official figures. Also it IS ignorant to visit a place and not learn a few words to be polite. Even if people in tourist resorts do speak english, they appreciate a little effort, i should know as ive worked in these places.
  11. Not that its relevant but i agree totally with the languages thing. Yes some of us can speak more than one other language, but not enough of us. It makes me ashamed to be english.
  12. Apparently he thinks hes staying on Merseyside now.
  13. Sounds like a good initiative. if i wasnt abroad nearly all next season then id seriously look at buying one.
  14. Ant more news on the Pedersen bid this morning? Im assuming souey is on tv over there for the cup final so nothing perhaps is happening today?
  15. Get rid of the thug! and his performances have been ok yes, but not as good as people suggest.
  16. Good riddance, and whoever mentioned Bolton, not sure hed be welcome back.
  17. Souey is very important to this club and like I said, people have short memories. We are 13th for gods sake, what is everyones problem?! Can we put this one to bed now? SOOUUUUNNEEESSSS!
  18. Well, seeing as if spent quite a bit of the last 4 years living in a couple of different areas in spain and having many spanish friends -added to the fact i watch spanish tv every day i think im qualified to answer this. Most spaniards dont even beleive me when i tell them we won the league 9 years ago! Bolton are slighlty better known here but more due to the presence of Ivan Campo more than anything. A lot of people do know the rovers though as if you have Digital + (spanish version of sky digital, but better!) then you see more english premier league acton than is possible in the UK.
