  1. Quick question; If you subscribe to radio rovers - can you use other teams commentaries on the same platform or is it just Rovers? As often it's interesting (and maybe better?) to listen to the other teams commentary and opinions.
  2. I'm gonna go too. Still buzzing after the Lancs win last week. Also have been starved of The Ashes, weather looks dry and should be a good atmosphere! Probably going to chose the 3rd one..........as whatever happens they'll be something to play for....whereas the series could be all over by the 5th. More good news: Lancashire have just been promoted back to division 1
  3. Think it's a bit of both. I can imagine a decent manager doing better with a "relegation favourite" and punching above their weight - but I hardly think they'd be winning the title. Basically The Champions league has ruined everything - rewarding constant failure (i.e. - Arsene Wenger). As posted earlier I'm pretty sure that fans have better memories of the cup win rather than 'finishing 4th'.
  4. Well that was certainly worth the trip and a team to be proud of - it certainly more than made up for that @#/? poor footy on Friday. And especially nice to see local Darwen lad and Blackburn Rovers fan Alex Davies getting MOTM in the final too. T20 CHAMPIONS!!!!
  5. Don't worry, you can go back to bed. 2.30pm our start.
  6. I must have been to 5 then, as I've only missed one (when we've made it). It must be our year. As you said it's always ended badly - usually hungover in the cold (apart from summer 2004) Jarvis has broken his hand so won't play. I presume Livingstone has recovered from being glassed as he's also in the squad.
  7. I've arrived in Brum in plenty of time to buy wine.
  8. Apparently there's a SkySports room at the accommodation I'm staying at. So I have a fall back plan . Here's to a bank holiday weekend of joyful sport (well Saturday at least ).
  9. Are Wetherspoons allowed to show footy these days? I was always under the impression that they didn't have a licence for any entertainment other than fighting.
  10. All a bit last minute, but I've finally secured my ticket and accommodation for Finals Day. I'm also planning to go down Brum on Friday to save the hassle of a stupid a.m. start on Saturday. For anyone that knows Birmingham; Any recommendations for a decent sports pub/bar to watch Rovers v Bolton on Friday? And not a cricket pub, as they'll be showing the Women's Ashes T20 won't they
  11. It's weird in this day and age how entire teams still have (at least partly) psychological problems stretching back years. Most of the time we come up against a spinner it's as if he immediately morphs into a Shane Warne or similar. I bet even Ali looks like MurAli in the England nets
  12. So do I, as he'll have to play as a batter since his bowling isn't up to main bowler test match standard.
  13. Also Praise the Lord! that the Aussie selectors made some ropey decisions. Had they played Peter Siddle things might have been different. He was playing at Lancs at the start of the season and was the best bowler by far (and also scored some useful runs).
  14. Always a bit of a strange one this. T20 Finals day always seems to be 'sold out', yet when you attend there always seems to be loads of empty seats dotted around - and that includes at the peak time (latter stages of the first semi final). I wouldn't give up hope just yet - there are bound to be loads of tickets somewhere out there. I haven't got my ticket yet and I'm still planning on going. How about everyone else? Did you get yours? I'm not a Lancs Member so I missed the "pre-sale" for our suppoised allocation (800 tickets). But with a ground capaicity of 24,000 I'm seriously baffled how it can supposedly be "sold out".
  15. Bit of a damp squid this last Ashes test. Weird too - I certainly can't remember a final Ashes test where England had nothing riding on it. It was usually close or England were trying to avoid 0 wins.
  16. Nice of them to put the game on Friday to accomodate the masses of Blackburn cricket fans.
  17. @#/? me! What a game. You couldn't ever get more dramatic than that! On to Finals Day again............. And as an added bonus; I didn't think about Boywers bores all day. Oh Lanky Lankkkkkkkkyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
  18. Open return is definitely the way to go. And unless you book half a century in advance it's no more expensive than 2 singles anyway.
  19. Looks like Canterbury student village for me. 2 miles from the ground, 200 yards from Asda.
  20. Quite! I heard Jos Butler is available to play too..... Are you driving down? Looks like an overnight stay for me (though haven't decided Kent or London), no way to do it in a day on public transport.
  21. Early days yet. So it's hard to say who our main rivals for the bottom 3 places will be, and which teams we could hope to just about finish above in order to guarantee one more year of turd.
  22. Anyone heading down Kent on Saturday for the T20 Quarter-Final? It will be more than a welcome distraction from that "football" @#/? going on.
