  1. The way he totters around up front, I doubt he’s that warm.
  2. Can someone tell me what Vale offers? He wins no 50-50s, can’t hold the ball up, not particularly quick, not got much by way of movement. He really has a lot to prove for me at the moment.
  3. I'd say positionally so far he has looked better than Nyambe. Time will tell of course but he's yet to get caught out of position, which was quite regular with RN, he just had the pace to get back thankfully. It's clear to see as an attacking threat and general ballplayer Brittain is far superior. However, I would fancy Nyambe in a one on one defensively due to his sheer physicality.
  4. I am obviously willing Vale to do well, and admittedly haven't seen much of him (Saturday and the Celtic game particularly), but I thought Dolan did more in 5 minutes than Vale did in however long he was on on Saturday. The likeness by someone to Mark Hughes earlier is barmy. One thing I've thought from Vale when I've seen him is the ball has rarely stuck and he's been brushed off it a bit too easy. Something he'll hopefully improve on.
  5. It's quite difficult to take someone seriously when they were consistently berating Buckley's performances after every game when he was one of/if not our best performers, particularly in the first half of last season. All tangible and observable evidence showed how quality his performances were, but I guess it's hard for some to admit they're wrong and take a big chomp on that humble pie.
  6. Clarkson has played one CL game and no games in the Prem, so no.
  7. Well, one has played first team games for Liverpool and by all accounts done pretty darn well, so I'd guess so
  8. For me this backs up other folk's assumptions on what went on. Pushed for more money, actually found he wasn't that much in demand, short-term deal down the road to save face. If Ryan didn't already feel like a complete numpty, he should do now.
  9. Admittedly my original post was me being very dramatic about just how far we have fallen I guess. I woke up in a bad mood today.
  10. If we can't compete with Sheffield fucking United then we are fucked.
  11. Anyone else a little unnerved by all the youths being given pro contracts? Law of averages says at least half of them are never going to be good enough for the first team. Just seems a way of filling the numbers which doesn't exactly bode well on transfers. Particularly when you think of wages we are dishing out on these untested players. Just hoping they won't be on a lot of money so it won't make too much of a dent.
  12. It's funny how after a couple weeks of optimism and fanfare, the stark reality of our rather dire playing personnel situation kicks in (/not funny at all). We need some bodies in ASAP, and some quality ones at that. All this talk of promoting half the u23s is absolute lunacy.
  13. Maybe it was taken a couple hours ago? It's cloudy over my side of Blackburn right now but not sure how it's been Brockhall way all day. Could just imagine there being a delay between pic taken and it being posted.
  14. I think people are misquoting him. I think he said "Good to see ya, Striker", not "good to see a striker". Which IMO, bodes even better!
  15. I love the way he speaks. He has a lot of noticeably great qualities. And his smile and his passion are rather infectious. I hope this all translates into success on the field!
  16. I think for the majority of fans who went last season or the season before, it isn't about hurt feelings or perceived failures etc. Most who went last season would have renewed, possibly with the potential for far more on top. I don't think you quite appreciate the true extent of how this financial crisis is hitting people in towns like Blackburn. I've just been in the Netherlands this weekend and spoke to people from all over the world. The fiscal situations for North Americans and mainland Europeans in comparison to folk from Blackburn is stark. There was a real opportunity to drop ST prices, bring in higher numbers and gates, with any potentially lost revenue almost guaranteed to be made up in merchandising and catering sales. It's simple economics really. Couple that with a feel-good factor and added noise/atmosphere... Now the club has seemingly made some positive steps in these appointments, there would have been a real opportunity/potential to capitalise on it if the prices were even at a reasonable level. In fact, I think we'd have seen a massive surge these last days/next week. It's honestly criminal how Waggott could fuck it up so monumentally.
  17. Fair enough Chadders. You're more than entitled to your opinion on who you think is best for the job, I just don't get why you ask fellow posters questions that they can't really answer. There's too many attempts at tripping people up on here.
