  1. Anyone got a link to the page? I'd love to get the Chileans over, so would gladly donate.
  2. Huddersfield confident and buzzing from their recent run. Rovers in great form and finding extra in the tank when needed. Both sides 'surprisingly' in the mid season promotion mix... Sensible money says score draw or no-score draw is on the cards. However, Carlos 'Kickaball' Corberan has got his side well organised and steady, in much the same way that chummylugs at our gaff has found a stable formula for the time being. I actually think it will be a good test of Rovers' credentials and, if we can prevail, a good indicator for the rest of the season. If we suffer a reverse, it won't be the end of the world, but I'd like to think we can send the Terriers packing with revenge for the defeat earlier in the season. COYB!
  3. Had this pile of tripe this evening from the EFL regarding the postponement: Hello #### Thank you for your email, we acknowledge your frustrations in respect of the postponement of the Hull City v Blackburn Rovers fixture. We sympathise with any supporters that had their matchday plans disrupted, and recognise that festive travelling is challenging at the best of times. Postponements for any reason are usually difficult decisions, and therefore Clubs are required to meet specific protocol when declaring any fixture cannot be fulfilled. In relation to any matches postponed for COVID reasons, principally Clubs are expected to do everything they can to fulfil a fixture, and if not they are required to explain the circumstances involved, in line with EFL regulations. As you will be aware Hull City informed the EFL that it would be unable to fulfil the fixture due to a number of positive COVID-19 cases in their squad, and the EFL will now review the circumstances surrounding the postponement. Of course, Clubs have been working in line with the required protocols all season, and most recently in respect of the Omicron variant, have been navigating positive cases across a range of circumstances. It is for each respective Club to inform the League if they cannot fulfil a fixture, and individual Club circumstances will be different in regard to COVID fixture suspensions, therefore consideration of all those factors will be reviewed by the League. However Clubs have recently been advised that pre-matchday testing can assist in alleviating uncertainty and lessening any potential impact on any supporters of the Clubs involved, and in addition the EFL will continue to assist affected Clubs throughout this challenging period to help them mitigate against the risk of infection amongst players and staff, while ensuring their obligations to the EFL regulations are maintained. Finally, for any supporters impacted by the postponement we recommend contacting Blackburn Rovers to understand any ticketing arrangements in light of the re-arranged fixture in due course. Thank you for contacting the EFL Regards Jessica Supporter Services Department EFL It made me go all Greta Thunberg...BLAH BLAH BLACKBURN ROVERS don't matter to the EFL..BLAH BLAH
  4. Aye, like any of us would have potted that, or got into that amazing position in the first place... All part and parcel of the game, but I guess we could speculate what might have been had any of the three or four other good chances we had in the first half have gone in. I dare say we might have seen another approach altogether from Barnsley, who came out very strongly in the second half.
  5. Amazing. Lenihan great tenacity and Buckley a great pass to the Chilean on Fire!!
  6. Got no complaints about that - Football is unpredictable and a professional side will always carve out some kind of chance during a game (except for that shit show against Spurs under the Wanker) and there was an element of fortune about that for Barnsley. Really important team talk coming up for the gaffer - no doubt the Tykes will look to hang on and frustrate Rovers now, so we need to find another gear and not let them off the hook - we easily have enough in the tank to do it. COYB!! #
  7. Kaminski, Lenihan (c), van Hecke, Wharton, Nyambe, Rothwell, Travis, Buckley, Pickering, Khadra, Brereton Diaz Subs: Pears, Johnson, Ayala, Gallagher, Dolan, Clarkson, Edun
  8. Very true, as any Rovers fan of the past 11 years will nervously concede. And so, we do face a potential banana skin against Bananersly this evening. Mitigating factors that should help us to rest easy include form, team spirit and cohesion, free-scoring ability, a defence tighter than a champagne cork and a new found tactical flair that has allowed us to ride out the inevitable opposition goal threats that happen in football games. Can we extend the run and finish 2021 on a high? I do hope so - Rovers fans everywhere deserve some return at last on their long-suffering and freely given investments of faith in all things Blue & White. So, c'mon Rovers, gird your loins and roar us like lions proud and loud into 2022. DO IT - FOR THE FANS! COYB!
  9. Typically arrogant and crude initiative, if true, from owners who more and more demonstrate their complete disconnection from reality. As even the most lightly schooled management scholar learns, money is not in itself intrinsically a motivator. Used crudely in an organisational setting, money is more likely to be a de-motivator, according to basic theory (see https://www.simplypsychology.org/herzbergs-two-factor-theory.html for a good explanation) Just goes to show what an uneducated, careless and arrogant bunch of Marie Antoinnettes have their spoilt little hands around our proud club's neck. Unfeckingbelievable! Off to la guillotine, mes Venkies imbecile!
  10. I've filled in the form to complain to the EFL too, making similar points. Cue reaction (or any kind of action) from EFL...
  11. No consideration whatsoever for the fans in evidence from today's fiasco. Given the emerging picture there should have been a complete round of lateral flow tests done first thing this morning at the ground for any player likely to be involved in the game, and a decision based on that about whether then game could go ahead or not. Instead some bunch of faceless dickheads thought it would be ok to wait until the entire 3K travelling support for Rovers was on the road and committed to the expense and time for the day out in Hull, before pissing their sides whilst reporting that Hull City FC couldn't raise a team. If it was a train company, or an airline, we'd all be able to get compo and our money back. As it stands it is just another poke in the eye for the ordinary man on the street. Despicable Dickheadery. Nothing less.
  12. Like that - 'Calm as hell' !! Feisty, is she? Anyway, safe drive and have a great day out. Let's see what is in the Christmas stocking eh? COYB!!
  13. All this talk of 18 or 19-0 makes me worried we will just come back down to earth with a horrible bump 😞 Bah bloody humbug! At least our defence has been miserly this ghost of December past. If we can scrooge up our courage, we might come away with something, but we will have to maintain a tight-fisted hand at the grindstone... Whatever... Their kit is a bit humbuggy, anyway.
  14. Fine margins it may be, but we have to capitalise on the rub of the green when it goes our way. That said, there is a fighting spirit about the team at the moment that makes me believe we will keep going whatever any opposition throw at us. I am hoping for a continuation of the positive run, but I won't be surprised if, occasionally, the wheels come off. 2-1 to the Tigers who give us an unexpected but long overdue mauling 😞 - Yup, the bog-eye of the Tiger Naaahh.. scrap that! Rovers to show resilience, resolve, resourcefulness and rabid courage to cage the Tigers in a show of shithousery and shear determination... 0-3 to the mighty Mowbray's blue and white gurning army 😉 Rothwell, Lenihan and Nyambe.
  15. 5 consecutive clean sheets - first time in 25 years!! Amazing!! What a relentless performance, across the board. What a great feeling, to know your team is giving it everything 🙂
  16. Commentator saying there are 12000 on. I'm not convinced, but gutted I couldn;'t be there today.
  17. Poor from Rothwell there, and Buckley a bit rash, and picking up an unnecessary booking. Crowd looks a bit thin. Not malnourished. Just not many there..
  18. This game will be a true test of the players' mettle, and a potential banana skin that we need to avoid skidding on. On paper, based on the entire sequence of games ever played between the two clubs this is the most evenly balanced rivalry I've seen, with both clubs having won 48 games, and 34 ending in draws since we first met in 1895! (source: 11v11.com) More recent results show us top of the form league in the division over the past 6 games, with Big Club way down in 20th (source: footballwebpages.co.uk) but as we know all too well, form sometimes goes out of the window when Rovers hit the heady heights at this time of year. I guess we will see how strong the confidence is in the squad come 4.45 this afternoon. Personally I'm hoping that Mowbray has stumbled over a winning formula that is capable of enduring, but to be honest I'm not going to be surprised if the bubble bursts at some point, because as you all know, we have 'form' in spades over the recent history of the club of flattering to deceive before Christmas, only to fall away spectacularly when it really matters. Game on?! Oh hell yeah! A morale sapping 1-2 to Big Club is on the cards, but a resounding 4-0 slapping with Messrs. Brereton-Diaz (2), Buckley and Lenihan netting for the mighty Blues would be a very nice early Christmas present 😉 COYB!
