Also another point to say we had 60% of possession yesterday and lose. In the 4 other games under Eustace when we had more than 50% of possession we have lost 2 and draw 2.

Bristol City away and Ipswich at home were the 2 we lost

Millwall at home and Cardiff away were the draws

Looking forward to the summer and next season, we need to decide what type of team we want to be and what tactics/formation we will used and focus making signings that fit into those.

    Your point being?

So interesting reading this thread and arguments over who’s most at fault. Here’s my thoughts:

I think this club can be successful whilst Venkys own us. I’d rather they didn’t own us, I’d celebrate them selling us, but realistically if they just shut up, sent us money and kept their noses out we could still find success.

I think Gregg Broughton is doing a pretty decent job considering the parameters he has to work within, which have essentially been almost-impossible.

For me, the biggest problem at Rovers is Steve Waggott. He’s out of touch, ambitionless and happy to accept mediocrity. But the biggest problem is he’s a short term thinker. The shambles that Venkys have created is going to take a medium/long term plan to turn around and every single decision I’ve seen Waggott make is kicking the can down the road. Waggott’s age and “I’ll retire if the owners ask me” attitude mean by default he isn’t the man for the job because he hasn’t got the longevity to oversee it.

Ewood is falling down, we need a CEO that demands investment from the owners outside of FFP.

The match day experience is dreadful, we need a CEO that understands the modern day fan.

The ticket pricing is robbery, we need a CEO that understands the local area.

The team is desperately underfunded, we need a CEO that can generate more income for FFP and once that is generated, demand an increase of money from the owners.

The training ground is not ours, we need a CEO that can use our money to buy it back as cheap as possible - use the Wharton money if you have to.

The standards around the club are ‘think small’, we need a CEO that can bring back Jack Walkers mantra of “Think Big”.

    Post of the decade.

  3. Eustace should be sacked immediately.

Don't come in and say this squad is fantastic (regardless of Morale boosting) and then NOT EVEN WIN 1 GAME.

First 45 mins v Ipswich were embarrassing. Pundits on talksport yesterday ripped into our setup for the game.

You've had all international break and it's still rubbish.

No games at this level are easier games.

Rovers are much better defensive whilst our attacking intent we had under JDT isn't there but given that Eustace has barely had 1 training session a week with the players until last week.

JDT had 2 games against Huddersfield, 2 home games to Rotherham and QPR which we only got 2 points from them.

Would you rather face Leeds or Huddersfield?

    I agree with you.

2 more weeks of training with most players at training should improve us again for the final run in

Positive: first game for Eustace with a manageable list of absences and we looked a much more controlled and footballing outfit.

Looks like a pragmatic mix of JDT ball combined with a willingness to find Row Z if needed.

He's yet to win a match though against much worse opponents? Will it prove costly.

So they’ve had recent approaches from potential buyers, but will only consider selling us if we get promoted to the PL… problem is, they as our owners won’t do anything to help us achieve that.

Sickening stuff, we’re gonna be stuck with these clowns forever at this rate 👎

    Mental isn't it.

We literally have no chance of ever looking upwards.

  7. Let's not forget the platform Eustace has set himself to fail on.

    • No excuses culture - all I see is his excuses.
    • Kept going on about how good the squad is - hasn't got a win yet.
    • Lack of high performing mindset - keeps saying games aren't must win, and after games saying we played well.

All things I'm just not a fan of and why I think he needs to go already.

Just pointing out the facts are. You are correct that twice we have take the lead and only draw. So I will hold my hands up again and I was wrong here. More than happy to admit that here.

I guessed I am just annoyed with some people comparing him to Kean or Coyle, or my comments rightly him so quickly instead of just giving time and actually getting on the training pitch to put his ideas over the players.

I rated Eustace and he did impressive job at Birmingham. I think JDT did a good overall job here and last season was our best season since relegation from the PL

He's got a worse win rate than both Coyle and Kean.

Brought in by Waggott as a ‘yes’ man and someone who would do as he is told, unlike JDT. Another journeyman manager harking back to the days of Appleton and Bowyer.

Underwhelming appointment. He is showing in both results and interviews he is out of his depth. Came in promising a flexible style….I am yet to see it. His interviews I cannot watch anymore - cliche after cliche. Hedgy, Pearsy, Siggy…..

Further dumbing down after last season. Scary to think the optimism and opportunity squandered in the summer.

He won’t last 12 months at Rovers. Simply not up to it and the continued narrative on his success at Birmingham is nonsense, they had played a handful of games.

And the constant ask of the players to ask for togetherness too.

All of it winding me up no end.

If you look at JDT last 11 games which including Huddersfield twice, Rotherham, Watford, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday we got 5 points from 33 including 1 win, 2 draws and 8 lost.

Since he left we played 8 games collecting 8 points including 1 win, 5 draws and 2 lost. The teams we have played including Stoke, Plymouth, Birmingham, Millwall and Swansea.

Eustace yet to win a game
