You are absolutely right. The poster did state that big changes were on the horizon and we could expect a brighter future.
What exactly where you promised and are you prepared to accept that like the rest of us, Roverite, you were also fed a lot of bullshit by Waggott?

At least PNE can now say they aren't the only existing founder member in the Football League who has never played in the Premier League.

I wrote this for issue 71 of 4000 Holes in 2007. It was supposed to be funny, now it's scary.

I wish they would stick to NFL and leave our football alone

His goal against Newcastle inspired me to write him as a spaghetti western character for issue 20 of 4000 Holes exactly thirty years ago. Where has time gone? Where have Rovers gone? Where has football gone?

Find Control Panel through your System and Security. Click on Power Options (looks like a kettle), then choose what closing the lid does. Pick Do Nothing.

Is there any photos of it? Cant find them anywhere online? I remember going up the stairs and then there would be tables and chairs on the left and the bar facing you and the windows on the right overlooking the pitch. McEwans Lager on sale on tap.
Typical Rovers. They named a bar after a lifelong teetotaller.

Is the hake boat still there?
It shut down during Covid, maybe before then, never re-opened. Used to like going in there.

My lingering memory of the Dirty Duck was having your pint served in a plastic glass due to the violence which was always breaking out in this place. Its name was often blamed for its bad reputation. Eventually it reverted to its proper name of the Castle.
Sadly, it was demolished and nothing was ever built on its old site. It's part of the Market Street Lane/Fleming Square car park.

Twelve years ago we did try to get the local Druids in. But they wanted to put standing stones round the centre circle.

Did we really think we could compete with the likes of Dunfermline and Wrexham?

Rovers' first reported game at Church was played on the old Church C.C. ground, not their current one at West End. It was where Church, Ossie and Accy merge. It was owned by Captain Pickup (no relation), C.O. of the local militia. I can remember going for a pint years ago in the Pickup Arms just up the road, near Rist's.
