  1. Rovers reported to be interested in QPR forward Idrissa Sylla
  2. Yes he did. If we go on to make the sort of profit we did from Bentley's sale, so be it.
  3. Remember when there were question marks over David Bentleys attitude at Arsenal. We signed him up and he was class. When you have the right manager in charge with the right attitude and a player who has been struggling with his attitude comes. It can do the world of good for his career, his life and the club. If Mowbray decides to sign Rodwell I will afford him all my support. I don't know about anybody else.
  4. We aren't interested in him. Fans are having a tantrum over a player Mowbray has confirmed we have no interest in.
  5. If Rodwell is willing to take a huge pay cut on a contract until the end of the season and has been training at Brockhall and proven himself to the manager. I will have faith in the manager to judge it he is good enough and would be open to his getting a deal. If we get him in and he fails. It's pretty much career over for Rodwell. I would rather we gave a player with pedigree a chance and failed then never give somebody a road back into the game. Look at Steven Caulker at Dundee. Give the lad a chance!
  6. < round and round we go ... where we stop nobody knows >
  7. Interesting little element in Mowbray's interview that might reflect on what is going on with Brereton. He speaks of thinking he is getting close to doing a deal only for the club he is talking to, to ask for just a little bit more and keep pushing it. The impression it gives over the whole Brereton Nottingham Forest transfer is that it has taken a considerable period of time for the two clubs to agree on a lump sum fee to be paid at the end of the season, and since the transfer window closed a loan fee as well. Nottingham Forest are now seemingly pushing their luck by asking for sell-on fees and other payments to be made in the event of International games, promotion clauses and performance related bonuses. It might reach a point soon where Mowbray decides to cut his losses and go onto his next target before we run out of time in the loan window. It will probably see Mowbray avoiding Nottingham Forest as being a club to do business with in the future because of how they have dragged out negotiations.
  8. Mowbray's interview after the match. Expresses frustration at transfer leaks to the media.
  9. Reading the Sun (with asbestos gloves and glasses), it would seem that a core fee has been agreed between Rovers and Forest for Brereton. Completion of loan transfer with a view being held up by Nottingham Forest arguing for numerous sell on fees at the time Rovers come to sell the player in the future.
  10. 93 games played for Coleraine with 15 goals, 9 assists and 6,408 mins played since the 2016/17 season. It does appear that he has had some occasional injury problems. Granted he is no Vince Grella!
  11. Coleraine manager Oran Kearney says midfielder Brad Lyons performed well on a recent trial at Blackburn Rovers but that he will not be moving to the English outfit. Either Rovers or the players representatives passed on making or agreeing to an offer however. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the future.
  12. Got a feeling Brereton doesn't want to leave Forest. It seems Forests willingness to sell him for the "right price" has really knocked the lad.
  13. Samuel has proven himself a capable goalscorer and has shaken off injury concerns. Leutwiler has International football pedigree and has proven himself capable between the sticks over the years. Sam Hart is still young. Coming from the Liverpool Academy initially would garner a small transfer fee. Armstrong was purchased on the cheap. Most would recognose that. Again, Rothwell was relatively inexpensive because of his contract situation. He was playing below his level and under contract would be worth an amount more than we paid.
  14. To be fair. I don't think Mowbray's scouting network has given mixed results. Look at what has been signed and the resale values (excluding academy prospects and loans): - Bradley Dack - £750,000 - Smash-hit + must be worth closer to £10 million now - Ben Gladwin - £0-£200,000 - His injury record has been abysmal, if not unpredictable. Will likely depart on a free - Richie Smallwood - £0 - Mr reliable in CM last season. Excellent squad option. Worth £500,000-£1 million. - Peter Whittingham - £0 - Everyone expected him to be a stand out signing last season. Alas it hasn't worked for him. No resale value. - Dominic Samuel - £500,000 - Decent quality League One signing who struggles with consistency. Will easily make his money back with a little profit maybe. £500,000-£1 million resale. - Paul Caddis - £0 - Squad player, who gave us an okay option for League One. Again will likely depart for free. - Joe Nuttall - £0 - Excellent prospect going forward. Loan spell might do him some good. Worth at least £500,000. - Jayson Leutwiler - Undisclosed (reported fee under £100,000) - Solid bench option. I'd suggest worth £100,000-£250,000 - Sam Hart - Undisclosed (minimal fee under £50,000) - Given a few chances. Honestly cannot work out whether he will make it or not. Resale around £50,000. - Paul Downing - Undisclosed (minimal fee under £100,000) - Decent quality option for CB. Worth around £250,000. - Amari'i Bell - Undisclosed (around £300,000 fee reported by Sky Sports News) - Has pace and talent. Worth around £500,000 at present. - Joe Rothwell - Undisclosed (around £200,000 fee paid) - Has plenty of talent and looks like a class signing. Worth around £500,000 in contract. - Jacob Davenport - Undisclosed (around £500,000 fee paid) - Looks to have plenty of talent and still only young. Worth around what we paid for him at present. - Adam Armstrong - Undisclosed (around £1.75 according to Mowbray) - Steeped in talent and will be class when settled. Worth around £2m-£3m at present. The only player out of that list we would make a loss on is Ben Gladwin. The only players it hasn't really worked out for (bar Gladwin) are players we signed on free transfers. Of course it is hard to tell how successful Mowbray will be spending larger sums of money. But the age of his transfer targets for the positions needed to fill are spot-on. It is nice to see fresh players making the move and not just players we had on loan previously. Bar Armstrong and Downing, both of which made sense to sign for the sums being requested.
  15. It's quite possible that we'd have an opt-out if he doesn't sufficiently impress during his loan. I guess the questions we need to ask ourselves is do we trust Tony Mowbray's scouting network? Is BB sufficiently different enough from cheaper other options to warrant the fee? Remember, Mowbray's network got us Dack. Guess the question is will BB be a Gladwin or a Dack.
  16. How bizarre. The lady I spoke to earlier said that he had signed a one year contract extension that expires at the end of next year. Need some clarification on this. Maybe she's wrong. Maybe Kammy can get someone to confirm?
  17. I believe his contract expires in November. But clubs can sign a pre-contract in July/August time. Honestly. Haven't the foggiest. That is the extent of what I have heard. Biggest hurdle might be persuading him to come to the UK. Think he and his family are pretty settled in the States.
  18. We are still actively trying to sign Wil Trapp apparently. If what I was told earlier is true. We are trying to sign him with a view to make his transfer permanent next January, before his contract enters the final 6 months. Club isn't entirely sure he wants to come however.
  19. It's a season long loan: https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/first-team-news/2018/august/man-city-patrick-roberts-joins-girona-on-loan
  20. Emmanuel-Thomas has Championship experience, can play upfront and did well for a very ordinary Gillingham team when out on loan last season. Turnbull was just an idea, who has experience in all the leagues that we have made our way through and could be that experienced option we need to assist. Kirchoff can play CB and CDM. Again... Just to add squad depth.
  21. 33. 34 in a week. 19 months older than Mulgrew.
  22. No mention of it on Derby or Burnley's site?
