What’s this ‘Oh this is where history repeats itself, under the lights?’ The majority of this team performed under the camera’s during the league 1 campaign. Not to mention this is a new season and a completely different mentality. The past two games we would have lost, quite heavily. Looking forward to this game and can see us winning comfortably. Bad news that Lenihan is out for 2 months or more. Terrible from Tony and the club not to sign any proper defenders. Everyone knew that our defence was poor but nothing was done properly to address the issues. How we lament PNE signing Bauer now, that’s exactly what we needed. Some bloke who lives for heading the ball! Lenihan hasn’t played a full season for us, probs could say that he’s injury prone. Williams, Bell, and Bennett not up to the correct standard etc. Can see us going for a back 5 due to the weakness in our squad and to have a place for his Majesty Elliott. I too agree. Plus Tony has come out and said that Hanley who happens to be an solid experienced centre that he’s not the top target which I think he’s lined up better centre half’s? Don’t think we can judge/moan about potential signings for at least 4 weeks yet. Who knows what players may come through the building?

I do like the prospect of Gally coming back. He was more than decent for us the season we went down. Seems like Tony sees potential in him and can improve him, also he’s good friends with a number of the players anyways so isn’t going to rock the boat in the dressing room, whereas maybe Brett might do? For all the talk about Bretherton, wasn’t the deal up to 7 mill with certain add ons etc? I believe the main players we need to sign this summer is someone what can dictate play from the centre of the park plus a good quality keeper and centre back. Just noticed Sheff Utd have placed Ben Heneghan on the transfer list. Someone we may be interested in seeing as we wanted him two seasons ago? Or is he simply not cut out for the championship? And what would people think of us going after Scott Hogan?

Both of the Olsson twins, Timm Klose, and van der Hoorn are out of contract this summer. Surely they could improve our squad rather than that Beuer? Definitely would have Martin back, but wages may be an issue
