Thing is, back then it was actually reserve team football, playing against men. Now it's all academy playing against lads the same age as you save for one or two.
It should be easier to stand out against boys then..

Would be my choice I reckon. Downing back up to the wing, Holtby behind Graham with Rothwell providing support. Give Armstrong, who despite scoring against Derby has been pretty poor in general as of late, a rest. Maybe start Gallagher up-top... maybe not. I think either him or Graham I'd be happy with to start.
You mean Armstrong who's scored one, and made one in our last 2? And you'd drop him..

The Question is obvious...
The answer is not.
The option for an unchanged side has been forced upon Mr Mowbray, so what's the plan people if you're in his shoes? Rothwell in the Dack role, Holtby? Nobody in that role and a change in formation?
4-4-2 with Gallagher and Brereton.
Waltony.
Nyambey tosiny Lenny Williamsy
Army Evansy Travy Downy
Breretony
Gallaghery.

Are there any good keepers in MLS? Our last USA keeper was decent!

If we can stay in and around the play offs come January, it's a perfect position to ask venkys to strengthen.

Has he? Name a game this season where he's underperformed? Reserves don't count in front of 25 kids down Leyland with a team of average teenagers to play with.
Reserves do count.. Damien duff used to stand out like a beacon at that level and earned his shot at the first team. Chapman must do the same.

One poor display and some folk want wholesale changes to the team! Ok.. ?

He's got £12m of striking talent sat on the bench. That's what will get him sacked, if anything.
Why Chapman isn't an option to come off the bench each week too is beyond me. We lack pace and skill, which he has in abundance
Agree that the team looked tired last night - has Mowbray fallen out with Johnson? He'd have played for me last night.
Chapman has been underperforming since returning to Rovers.. has a lot to do to get back into first team thinking.

There were pro and cons for keeping Dack on. I’m usually critical of Mowbray but not in this case.
TM is often accused of negativity.. Keeping Dack on was positive..

He's picked the team you all wanted, they underperform and it's all his fault.. as I say, damned either way.

Bradley(teflon) Dack gets sent off.. it was either his own fault, or a poor refereeing decision..
YET a percentage of fans on here blame TM for it. They say Dack should have been subbed off..
Well tell me this.. if he'd done that, and the game had finished 1-1 against 10 men.. are you telling me you wouldn't criticise TM for taking off our 'best source' of goals?
The guy is damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.. it's ridiculous.

Nyambe had his worst game in the past few weeks. He backed out of challenges and didn’t fancy himself going against Roberts. Given his pace and build he never backs himself, it was a typical Nyambe game and he’s the one player what genuinely boils my piss given his attributes, just dosent do enough for me and I’d look to replace him ASAP.
Arma I can see what you mean but you don’t make them mistakes coming in wide. Attackers don’t come in wide looking for the ball unless the lads behind are not getting it forwards, which is hence my scoring tonight the defence let some down. Simply put we got out done in the midfield central battle.
Rothwell from both sides was probably the worst player on the pitch. Looked a freebie from oxford tonight.
I don’t settle for performances out of faint hope ill-decision or eclipsing ourselves. We were shite tonight and got away with it. Ring the changes Tony tonight was below the same standard certain players have set as a minimum and they must learn.
An average of a point away and a decent amount of 3 pointers at home would give us a good chance of top 6 I think.
Tonight WAS a good point imo.

Harsh on Nyambe thought him and the cb’s were our man of the match contenders. Generous on Armstrong, good assist but often wasteful in good positions. Rothwell was anonymous but wasn’t as bad as some are saying.
Armstrong is not wasteful.. nobody gets in the box.. he's to quick.

Surely Brereton gets a chance.

Good point all being told.
It's a tough tough league and we ain't gonna win every game, or indeed play well every game. Picking up points when off the boil helps though.
WBA scraped a win at woeful Wigan, Bristol City got beat off Milwall, Fulham off them clowns down the road.
One last push on Saturday then a good few days off to recharge the old batteries, its come at a good time really.
People are upset maybe that we could have been 2 points off third.. but there's lots of games to go yet.. you only have to be in that top 6 come may.

Typical championship game.. Armstrong our only real threat.. Dack anonymous and foolish.. Rovers lacking their usual rhythm, maybe games have caught up with them a little.. a point each fair enough.
That's how I saw it anyway.

Watching the lads walk towards a fixed camera along the touchline gave a great sense of respective heights. Walton, Tosin, Gallagher and Brereton heads were missing from view! Don't realise how little Dack is either until seeing a camera angle like that.
Aye.. we don't net many headers with our forward options..!
-
I'm a mixture of excited and wary.. I don't think even the right line up will change that feeling.. I just hope we stay in the game as long as possible and don't concede, say 2 early goals, that kills the game in the first half. Our away form is still doubtful. The Stoke game hasn't changed my own view about that.

Your making it sound like I'm critisising Dack.. not at all.. all players lose form at times and I just think in that instance it'd be wise to have an alternative.. another string to our bow.

That may be, but Dack is our top scorer and has been since he signed.
Who’s going to replace his goals, while he’s out wide? It's an alternative if Dack loses form and becomes anonymous, as he can do imo.

I thought this was a Swansea away thread not a debate about crowds at ewood.
It's stemmed from TMs comment further back on the thread about the need for premier League football, so not off topic..
Swansea City (A) - F*ck it, let's make it five!
