  1. Sounds like we are playing our strongest team tomorrow. Be interesting to see how many of our players can compete against an upper mid-table Premier league team. With a bit of luck and a more competent structure we could have been playing these teams every week. I watched the arsenal game and they can be beaten. However, we are not arsenal, so I'm going for a hard fought 1-2 loss. Our highest attendance this season of just under 21k may also be broken.
  2. If you sell your best players and don't replace them with at least equal there's only one way you will go.... We've been like this for 12 years now. Just been lucky that our academy has filled them holes. One season it won't.
  3. This team has some serious problems. Play attractive possession football, concende 3 goals a game. Play hard man percentage football, concede 2 goals in 45mins. Also sad that we seem to have replaced our more technically gifted academy players for older journeymen bruisers. Only seen 45 mins of this new era so maybe I'm being a little harsh.
  4. I put up to 5m. If we don't spend or unearth a wonder kid from the academy we will be relegated. It also depends on what the agreement is between Venkys and the Indian government. If its they can only cover losses, then the sales have probably balanced the books for the next 12 months. Eitherway we are at best just treading water and at most probably going downwards with these owners.
  5. If those numbers are correct it'll be a good crowd and atmosphere. Bigger crowd than moat league games! Closer to 17k by KO on Monday. No idea what the score would be, but probably a classic high scoring cup game. Hoping for an Adam Wharton assist or two too...
  6. These cup runs are quite lucrative for both teams. We received 105k for beating Cambridge (plus ticket sales etc) and the winner of the 4th round gets 120k (plus ticket sales etc). If we win, that could be close to 500k in revenue, quite a lot of extra cash for us. 5th round winner gets 225 in prize money...
  7. Maybe the club knew we would lose Hill and decided to sign the Crewe defender as a replacement. Short term I'd image he won't be as good as Hill, long term better for the club as we would be developing one of our own players.
  8. Lots of players missing but great to see so many homegrown players in the squad. Let's see how much of a difference a relatively full house does! Rovers 2-0 Watford
  9. Does that mean 5k in BBE + 12k in JW? It'll look great seeing packed stands again
  10. This has been a waste of a game. You can defend deep, but short passes in congested areas around your box without an outlet further up the pitch to start a break won't work. I'm pretty sure this is our tactics and not just saints forcing us into it. Then out of nothing, Brittan stupidly gets sent off. These tactics will be even worse now
  11. Great thats its on ESPN+, means we don't have to use RoversTV again! Shame KO is at 7am though. Going for a hard fought draw. Maybe 1-1
  12. Finally got the video stream just before we scored to make it 3-2. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that we missed the first 50mins!
  13. Nope (I'm also in US). I'm giving up actively following Rovers. I can't reliably watch the games which isn't great when newly converted friends come over to watch them. Now put Premier league games on, which costs less per month than watching Rovers. Tried to buy some shirts but that also doesn't work... amateurs. Easier and cheaper for neutrals to follow other teams.
  14. I'm in the US, Firefox and mobile aren't working... anyone any ideas?
  15. Don't know why I bother sometimes. Paid 10quid and missed at least the first 10 mins. Edit: and now 2 goals
  16. See that Rovers Women's team won again! Seem to be making year on year improvements for a while now. Does anyone know what the expectations are for this season? Could they play in the top league in the short-medium term based on ability and facilities?
  17. Looking like 9000 season tickets sold by the start of the season. Frustrating that we aren't growing the match day attendance like other clubs are. On the plus side, when we get new owners (or CEO?), it'll be an easy PR boost to reduce prices to a competitive level and add a few thousand season ticket sales.
  18. That's shocking. Although technically they could be listed as N/A like Brum.
  19. Just seen an advert for the Premier league summer series here in the US. Tickets starting at 45 up in the gods and some even cost several hundred. That's a lot of money in a huge American football stadium! Divided by 4 teams as its a double-header. 9 matches in total for 6 teams. Guessing we won't be as adventurous this summer. Personally I would much prefer watching Rovers vs Accy/Wigan with a pie in one hand a cup of bovril in the other for a tenner.
  20. Just seen the final U21s table! Very close in the end with 3 teams tied on 28 points. Spurs went down on goal difference with their fancy academy. Bet Ash Phillips is relieved he stayed! Leicester also had a disaster with their modern multi-million pound academy too
  21. Luton seem too strong for Sunderland. As a side note, quite a few ex Rovers doing well this season. Apart from Armstrong today of course
  22. Great news for the whole club. Maybe I was slightly overconfident that we were safe after beating spurs....
  23. Maybe Wolves are in trouble too. If they don't beat Fulham today, they will need points against Crystal Palace and/or Man city to finish above us.
