  1. cheers for posting, i'll look forward to that. Loved RN! Absolute warrior!
  2. Another one I knew briefly, (not Rovers) played in a major cup final but was a rugby league man. Didn't like football and absolutely detested most footballers and and thought they were all 'ponces'. It's just a job to some of them.
  3. Competition for places. If your back-up RB isn't bothered about playing 1st team football, the first choice RB isn't under any pressure to perform to keep his place. Some footballers don't even like football. It's just a job. I used to know a Rovers player in the 80's who hated every minute of it. He'd have happily just turned up for training, picked up his wage and never got on the team sheet.
  4. That's a tough opening month:- August 7 - Swansea City (H) 14 - Millwall (A) 18 - Nottingham Forest (A) 21 - West Brom (H) 28 - Middlesbrough (A)
  5. Everyone's available at the right price, they just have to want to come to Rovers.
  6. Re the EFL/Derby article, what does the following mean in layman's terms:- More specifically, the panel determined that the Club’s policy was not in accordance with accounting standard FRS102 because it failed to accurately reflect the manner in which the Club takes the benefit of player registrations over the lifetime of a player’s contract.
  7. ‘It’s such a relief’: how Europe’s Covid vaccine rollout is catching up with UK | Europe | The Guardian Slow start, catching up quickly.
  8. We'll stuff Germany then lose to Wales in the Semi's. 🙄
  9. Who do we play next round? Is it 2nd or 3rd place of the group currently playing?
  10. What will determine the expectation for Blackburn Rovers? | Lancashire Telegraph “At the end of the day everything is about expectation,” he said. “If you’ve got a talented young team who need to grow, the expectation should be less than if you’ve spent £100m.” Mowbray's negativity begins again in earnest. Getting his excuses in before a ball is kicked.
  11. This is nothing. Wait till we sign Gary Pallister on a free...
  12. Do imaginary goals count? Scotland had a few chances, so did the Czechs. What if they'd gone in? We'd be out by now....
  13. Blackburn Rovers assess European options amid recruitment chief wait | Lancashire Telegraph Logic would dictate they'll just wait until the end of the window and pick him up for a bargain price.
  14. Liverpool to deal Blackburn Rovers transfer blow that could open opportunities elsewhere - LancsLive Harvey Elliot not returning according to this No HE and no AA - that's most of our goals and assists gone.
  15. Blackburn Rovers transfer embargo, how it impacts recruitment and potential ramifications - LancsLive Blackburn Rovers: Transfers, embargo and Adam Armstrong latest | Lancashire Telegraph Reading the above articles on the embargo recently I'm none the wiser. Maybe because I'm a bit thick, or because the articles aren't clear. So, 3 questions now that the transfer window is open- 1) What type of embargo are we currently under and how does that impact the type* of players we can currently sign? 2) What type of embargo will we be under if we don't file the accounts by the 30/
  16. The Nobbers have signed a couple of players already. Is Waggott off his holidays yet?
  17. Oldham sign ex-Man Utd and Liverpool youngster Sam Hart | The Oldham Times
  18. It's the journalists reporting it as an embargo, national and local. Not sure there's much chance of Sharpe being overly dramatic. We'll be in in the Conference North before he sticks his head above the parapet and criticises the club.
  19. Well at least the sensible pundits have changed the narrative a bit. We don't have amazing World Class players who are going to out-class the opposition, we have some good players who can win matches (Grealish, Kane, Sterling etc) backed up by an unadventurous team that defends in numbers. What's been noticeable is how even the teams were in our average group. The difference is we had a bit of extra class and pace in the AM areas which has effectively won us the group. It's going to get a lot more pressured and difficult from here. We could easily go out to any of our next round op
