  1. Keeping onto the key players whose contracts are running out will be a key assessment period for Mowbray at demonstrating whether or not he truly is a good manager. He’s had plenty of money in recent years and used it rather lavishly at times. If key players aren’t tied down due to a ‘lack of funds’ and leave as freebies, then sorry but Mowbray is one hell of a crap manager. His adamant top 6 expectations give me hope he’s got this covered and we’re sweating over nothing. Let’s wait and see.
  2. If we beat these then I’ll start to get excited about the realistic chances of play-offs. Come on!
  3. If these players are able to seemingly walk away with no effort to invest in them by our club then it’s worrying times ahead. It would send out a strong message that the club aren’t interested in achieving promotion and are happy to just carry on plodding along being penny wise pound foolish. Venky’s need to back Mowbray financially and Mowbray then needs to ensure these players contracts are prioritised in January. If these players are neglected, it will leave lasting scars on the club we feel possesses more potential than we’ve seen in a decade. Please get this right Venky’s and Mowbray, doing so will benefit everyone associated with the club.
  4. Mowbray will spout his usual crap about ‘having good spells in the game and if we converted one of the chances we had it could have been a different game. We also had key player’s missing which makes a difference against tough sides like Swansea.’ It’s pure nonsense really given the abysmal decisions he makes. The venkys will buy into that crap though and keep throwing money at dead wood. We’re a lost cause at the moment.
  5. when Mowbray says we’re on a journey he means we’re on a journey to league one. He knows the venkys will allow that plan to take place and keep wasting their money in the process.
  6. The defence are getting plenty of practice in for league one next season at least. Hopefully by then they’ll be less shit.
  7. I feel like we’re going to be in for another shit show of a defensive display. Up against another well organised side who undoubtedly will be rubbing their hands together knowing they’ve got us this weekend. We’re going to need Armstrong to net a hat trick and the rest to get something out of this. I hope I’m wrong.
  8. A key part as to why we can’t realistically expect to be promoted under this manager comes down to the fact he’s far too nice and tactically inept to utilise the quality of the squad in front of him. If players such as Lenihan, Evans, Bell and Gallagher continue to make regular first team places and play poor football without any abrupt managerial interruption then the whole team and us fans will continue to suffer, along with our league position at the end of the season. Mowbray needs to grow a pair and really clamp down on the weak links regularly holding us back. I also say he’s tactically inept as he regularly plays people out of position which is obvious to everyone this never ends well against a decent side. The other part of his tactical meltdown is formation. He needs to change this to adapt to the opposition, it’s really not difficult. This combined with the very weak performances some players get away with is only more detrimental to our overall ‘progress’. Grow a pair please Mowbray instead of being mr nice to everyone who plays for you and use your brain.
