Rules announced so far from Monday are :-

    No away fans

    10,000 in large PL stadiums.

    4,000 otherwise

Puts us at 4000 and no away fans.

Add in the Covid passport and matchday testing and they will be queuing up on ticketmaster to watch Mowbray's men for £500

Does that include Ticketmaster's £50 booking fee?

Hopefully. I remember being abused at the bar at half time for having a yellow and black scarf on back in the Kean days 🙄

Unfortunately, as Kean did back then Mowbray will still have a lot of support in the ground. Especially after their memories have been reset during the summer.

Surely we must be selling hardly any iFollow passes now. Weren't we down to about 1000 for one game, and even that was a couple of months ago? Must be, what, a couple of hundred now? Few hundred absolute max.

I haven't paid to watch on iFollow since December now when it became clear it would be another season of nothingness (not that, deep down, I expected anything else under Mowbray) after hardly missing a game before that. Not missed it one bit.

Where do they get the stats for that?

What I found mildly amusing was the last time I watched iFollow there was some regular screenshot that would come up with something along the lines of "Support Your Team Do Not Illegal Stream".

I could hardly really imagine anyone even bothering to stream from iFollow in the first place bearing in mind the state of the season and the awful football, never mind thousands (or even hundreds) of fans clambering to watch said football and, as they made out, "stealing" revenue from the club.

  4. I did not even know we were playing. The first I learned of it was upon checking my emails earlier today and seeing the offer to see the game on iFollow (No thanks by the way).

It would appear that I had a lucky escape. Commiserations to those that spent almost 2 hours of their life on it, and especially to those that actually shelled out a further £10.

  5. Do I get a lolly for getting the result correct?

A bit of a lucky win by all accounts, but those teams below us are all gash. 2 goalies in a succession have gifted us points. All Praise the God of Butterfingers.

Unfortunately as I said in the relegation thread, this is the start of a super end to the season which Mowbray and those Rovers fans with memories like goldfish will use to try and justify the journey is going places and we will have to suffer the utterly shite one for yet another season.

Actually I just looked at the most extended highlights I could find of that game and a 4 goal thrashing would have been more apt. But this is one of the games that has been well reported as a great battling performance and deserved point.  But I do not think there are many or even any games out there where a 4 goal defeat (as would have been deserved) could be described as such.

I demand a dR (deserved Results) table. I know Mowbray and his supporters have continually banged on about all these close defeats where we supposedly should have got more. But I can not help thinking back to those results where we actually got something and did not deserve anything had chances and officials done a better job.

Case in point. Boro away where we won 1-0 and took the 3 points. That kick in the head at 0-0 that went unnoticed for some reason should have been a Boro penalty and more than likely a deserved sending off. So we would have been 1-0 down and deservedly a man down in that game. With a deserved defeat being the likely outcome.

I suspect in a dR table we would be facing very real relegation battle. How about the win in the first game against Millwall where our defence were trying to play basketball in the last few minutes. We were very lucky not to concede a penalty and hence throw away 2 points.

Even taking our last game into account. I think Kaminsky deserved to be sent off. Imagine being a man down against Cardiff with Pears in goal, would we have got a draw? (How many would have been looking forward to Pears being in goal in an upcoming relegation fight match?).

I guess you could argue we could have picked up a few points extra in games where we were more unlucky (Was Armstrong's disallowed goal against Stoke ever shown to be onside? That was one of the only games where I really came away at the end thinking we perhaps should have won). Either way overall I think we would undoubtedly be on less points than we are now given dR. And where I think we are safe already on 47 points. If we were deservedly on a few less points than that, we would still have work to do in some nervous relegation battles.

To summarise, dR is probably less BS than any kind of xG analysis and we would be in a dESERVED relegation dogfight. Whereas our luck has allowed us to escape any relegation threat and plod along until the end of the season with most fans being in a Mowbray inspired coma.

It's a statistic created by opta.

    EXPECTED GOALS (XG)

EXPECTED GOALS (XG) MEASURES THE QUALITY OF A SHOT BASED ON SEVERAL VARIABLES SUCH AS ASSIST TYPE, SHOT ANGLE AND DISTANCE FROM GOAL, WHETHER IT WAS A HEADED SHOT AND WHETHER IT WAS DEFINED AS A BIG CHANCE.

ADDING UP A PLAYER OR TEAM’S EXPECTED GOALS CAN GIVE US AN INDICATION OF HOW MANY GOALS A PLAYER OR TEAM SHOULD HAVE SCORED ON AVERAGE, GIVEN THE SHOTS THEY HAVE TAKEN

Is there an expected goals against?

I was just thinking back to the recent Norwich game where a lot of people seem to think that it was an amazing performance against the top team. But my memory is that we should have easily lost by at least 2 clear goals based on clear cut chances.

Expected Norwich 4-2 Expected Rovers would have been a fairer reflection and so Zero Expected points.

  8. I think it shows just how boring things have got that we are almost trying to make up some unlikely scenarios where we might still have something to play for at some point.

Can anyone remember a more boring recent season? It has been dead for a number of weeks already and there is literally nothing to look forward to and the football has mainly been atrocious.

I think we’ll get enough points ourselves but it’s more likely other teams won’t get enough to catch us. However, it is possible to lose the last five games as we saw with Hull.

Even if we don’t lose them all, unless we improve our form we could set up an interesting final day:

Draw 2 Lose 2 in next 4 (while everyone else draws)

Draw 1 Lose 3 in next 4 (while everyone else draws)

What you have forgotten there is Sheffield Wednesdays 6 points deduction, which even given both those scenarios would see them already relegated and Rovers safe going into the final game.

You think rovers will win the next 4 games out of 5?

Given how poor the opposition are it is entirely possible yes. We may even end up top or near top of the last 5 games form league which I am sure Mowbray would be using to dupe the idiotic ones in his Pune Powerpoint to show them just how magnificent the season has been.

  11. As Cardiff will no doubt be on the beach (the players at least) I expect we will not lose today. Will we have enough for the win though? We only really need 1 point to stay up (all prediction calculators point to 47 points being enough to stay up this year). So perhaps we will play for the point?

Cardiff do not score many goals so I doubt this is going to be a thriller. 0-1 to the Rovers.

    Fuck of Woodgate you prick

    https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-mowbray-future-manager-20333204

    Hold up.

"He's the most passionate manager I've probably worked for"

Probably? So Woodgate is not even sure if he has worked for him and so not 100% sure who he is talking about?

It is PROBABLY just a robotic stock reply he has somewhere in his tiny brain that is activated by pseudo journalists. Which would make the most sense as the response is pure BS in this given case.

    This.

My kids have been calling me Mr Negative for a few weeks because I think relegation is a strong possibility.

We have no method, no leadership, no fight and we look too easy to play against.

The situation requires a managerial change!

The one thing we do have is the points in the bag. 👍

Your last 2 sentences I wholeheartedly agree with.
