  1. I thought the owners were scraping the barrel when Owen Coyle was appointed. This is a whole different barrel. Did some Blackburn fan run over Mrs Venkys cat eight years ago and her revenge was to buy the club and run it into the ground? Someone has done something to them to peeve them off this badly that they seem intent on destroying the club as punishment.
  2. I went to Godzilla on Friday. Very disappointing.
  3. I thought it was a bit of a mish mash and couldn't work out what type of movie it was. I was expecting it to be great because of all the acclaim that was going with it, but was disappointed.
  4. I've seen a number of movies over the last few weeks, some of them very good, some decent and some poor. I saw the new Tom Hardy film Locke last night and thought it was excellent. I downloaded the new Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet movie Labor Day on Saturday and really enjoyed it. I went to The Raid 2 last week and loved it. Extremely violent, even compared to The Raid, but it's a great follow up. Other films that I've seen over the last few months and would recommend include Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Grand Budapest Hotel, All Is Lost, The Hunt, 300: Rise Of An Empire, Lone Survivor, Dallas Buyers Club, Inside Llewyn Davis, Wolf Of Wall Street, Out Of The Furnace, 12 Years A Slave and Seven Psycopaths. I also saw Her, American Hustle and Blue Caprice, but was disappointed with them.
  5. I totally agree with that. I played a little bit in school and used to love it. I have the same feelings about baseball, which doesn absolutely nothing for me as a spectator sport. But I enjoy watching highlights on Sports Center and I keep an eye out for the San Francisco Giants results, for the simple reason that I went to their stadium one time.
  6. This is a genuine question and in no way means to cause offence or sound ill mannered, but I would love to know what it is that people love so much about cricket? What makes it so good? I mean to passers by like me, it seems long, drawn out, boring, but which can change very quickly into something exciting. Maybe thats it and I have answered my own question? I don't mind one day cricket, its far more managable for the someone like myself who loves all sport, but just can't get into the test matches. Also, could someone tell me why people up north are such manic cricket fans? Again, without wanting to be rude or cause offence, I'd have thought that people up north who love their football and their rugby league, would find cricket to be for those soft southern fairies! I'm genuinely interested in the love and passion that people have for cricket.
  7. I know next to nothing about cricket and care even less, but from what I've seen on the news and heard, it certainly seems like there is a greater degree of bitterness and nastiness in this series than ones previous. To be honest, I love that sort of thing. I think it's great when teams genuinely dislike eachother, it adds an extra dimension to the game and makes players behave in a manner that they wouldn't normally.
  8. Boardwalk Empire is incredible. The Walking Dead has just returned. Mad Men is due to come back. The Killing is another fantastic show. These would be the ones that I follow religiously, as well as Breaking Bad before it finished. Rescue Me is a series that I have been catching up on over the last few months. It's very good on the whole, though there are some major plot holes and can be too drawn out. Orange Is The New Black is a series that I'm going to start watching. It's funny how you are genuinely sad when an iconic series that you become attached to comes to an end. The Sopranos, The Wire, Friday Night Lights and Entourage are four shows that I really miss but which finished at the right time. Breaking Bad is the same. You become emotionally attached and don't want it to end, but know that it's run it's course and gone out on top. Unfortunately that's not how Dexter finished. That was another show that I really loved, but the final series was weak and the show should have wrapped the season before. I never really watch TV, because at one point I was following 8 or 9 shows, which were downloaded, so I never watched TV (apart from the news and sport), which is a good thing because it's dung.
