  1. and immediately Rangers have him playing in his proper position behind the other midfielders and he looks like his old self. two years wasted trying to turn him into something he isn't .
  2. playing with a bunch of players incapable of passing the ball back to him didn't help either.
  3. Klos is injured so he will probably be the captain 'til Stefan returns.
  4. it wouldn't be so bad if they left by a back exit - but to see them walking round the pitch must be very disheartening.
  5. he will resume the captaincy(presumably) of one of the biggest clubs in the world rather than playing for a poor provincial team who's support starts leaving fifteen minutes before the game ends.
  6. at least McLeish knows what his proper position is - unlike the two managers he played under at Blackburn.
  7. Barry signs for Rangers subject to medical...SKYSPORTSNEWS.
  8. Murray Park is an incredible complex situated in a beautiful part of the City.
  9. in fairness to Rangers they are a much bigger club than Blackburn with a huge fervent support and a training complex second to none in the world. the downside of course is the league they play in - just terrible. Radio Scotland will be discussing the Barry situation from 2pm today. you can access Radio Scotland on Sky Digital Channel 866.
  10. BBC Radio Scotland saying Rangers have made a bid of £3m for Ferguson and quote David Murray as saying they will not be increasing their offer. also says that Blackburn still owe Rangers £2.5m from the original deal.
  11. no offence folks but Ferguson deserves to be playing with players capable of passing the ball back to him. Blackburn just don't have the quality in the team to make Barry look good. he is not the sort of player who will make things happen much by himself but play him as the playmaker in a decent team with pace, skill and width then he will look a world beater. i watch Makalele at Chelsea and think how much better Ferguson would be in that role. i hope he goes to Newcastle at the very least.
  12. BBC Scotland said that Barry has told Blackburn he wants to return to Rangers and they report that the deal is more or less done and dusted.
  13. BBC Scotland reporting that Barry is certain to sign again for Rangers - that was the sports headline....will post again with more detail.
  14. Ferguson does look thinner i agree - can't say the same for Thompson though. a good stone overweight i'd say.
  15. watch him tomorrow. it never even enters his mind that he could look for a pass BEFORE running at least ten yards with the ball. if he would only take a wee bit of time to assess his options he would do a lot better imho.
  16. i don't rate Emerton. Andy Gray summed him up on Sunday when he said he doesn't get his head up early enough to see his options. every time he gets possession he does the same thing - the head goes down and he runs straight at the opponent in front of him at full speed......almost every time he loses possession or at best gets a throw-in. can someone on the training ground not point out to him that he shouldn't decide what he is going to do before he gets the ball but rather decide when he's actually in possession. this would put a few question marks in the opposition's mind at least. he has no tricks either - not one. a carthorse.
  17. Ferguson is a natural playmaker - he'll almost never give the ball away and played in his proper position he will always make time and space for himself. What i don't understand is why buy the player then try to turn him into something other than he is? if Souness wanted a forward running, goalscoring midfielder he should have gone for Petrov at Celtic.
  18. i've watched Barry play at Blackburn over the last couple of years and really always thought he has been played out of position. Barry is at his best when the game is ahead of him and he sees plenty of the ball. he probably is the best passer of a ball in British football but whenever i have seen him play for Blackburn he's running away from the ball trying to be an auxiliary attacker....this just isn't his game. for instance, he cannot shoot! he might be able to curl the odd effort but he is unable to strike a ball with any real power. that said, i am a huge fan of Ferguson when he is played as the holding midfielder and the whole team pivot around him. that's what he did at Rangers under Advocaat and McLeish and he was a joy to watch. the Blackburn fans haven't seen any of this really. drop Tugay...play Barry in the playmaking role and play Thompson as the forward running central midfielder with Emerton and Reid either side.
