  1. without reading through the whole thread. What was the away design shirt ?
  2. Massive gamble from Sven you can tell that he doesn't need to protect his salary as he is leaving in about 8 weeks !! Just heard clemence on radio 5 staing that theo is quicker then henry so sodding what this is not the 100m at the olympics. Why why or why Hargreaves and Jenas would have left one of these out for defoe.
  3. We all knew he would say that there is no way fergie wants him to figure in the WC. Will the expectations of the nation be less now ? Might work to our advantage ? Personally I would look at the possibility of pushing gerrard or lampard further forward to play the rooney role pending owen is fit !! with SWP coming in on the right hand side and becks moving central.
  4. Its our gutter press who forced the FA into finding a new manager with their dispicable treatment of the best England manager for years. Top marks to Scolari maybe this unsavoury episode may bring a wind of change but I seriously doubt it. Roll on Mclaren / Curbs or Big Sam thrilling eh it would be funny if they each refuse the position as they weren't first choice. Thats a good way we will have you now Mac but we didn't want you really.
  5. Mark Hughes believes the widely-expected appointment of Luiz Felipe Scolari as the new England manager represents a 'smack in the face' for English coaches. Sorry Mark what about a smack in the face for the seven young british lads we have released from the academy this week in favour of no doubt more foreign players in the English game. !!!
  6. Managed to watch the game in full and really what the ferk are being getting wound up about so he threw an armband behind him so what who cares its a sodding piece of cloth. He was clearly disappointed that he had to go off thro injury when he just got selected again. If toddy had took his shirt off and thrown it at Hughes then maybe we have a problem but a captains armband no way. What is the point of a captain anyway other than to give you double fantasy lg points all they do is a toss a coin at the beginning and hold aloft any trophies first. They don't perform any better or score goals because they are captain you can't tell me that a prem player these days is actually bothered about being captain of the club do they pay the captain more money ? We have more important things to worry about ! BTW we were crap again and got we deserved nowt !!! a strike partner for bellamy please in the summer.
  7. Nelsen for me. Bellamy has been stunning recently but missed too many games through injury for a player of the season. Nelsen reminds me so much of hendry in his prime !
  8. yes saw on ssn that hughes heads newcastle wanted list. whats the lowdown on this story have rovers rebuffed this story. It will be a disaster if he leaves.
  9. Pongolle must start. Pompey now getting beat which will give brum a boost. Hopefully pedersen can get some form back. Savage will get some stick maybe poetic that he might score eventually back at st andrews. Is tugay injured ? Give emerton a run out 2-2 draw.
  10. Where have newcastle come from ? just seen the league table they are in the mix now
  11. I feel quite pragmatic re: yesterdays defeat. Lets face it we won at ncastle with a blatant handball and also the equaliser against wigan was dubious to say the least and wigan had a perfect goal ruled out when roberts was inactive. Can't remember renia being called into action. On yesterdays performance we got what we deserved nowt. We have been sussed remove threat of bellamy by defending on the edge of the box and then we struggle no creative player in midfield to unlock the defence and forwards in the form of dickov and kugi are as must use as tits on a fish. Need a top class forward to compliment bellamy how many times does he berate kugi in a game due to his lack of ability ? Still if we all forget about champs lg and live in the real world of a uefa finish that is definetly achievable probably 2 wins out of 4 will guarantee uefa qualification esp as west ham getting beat need bolton to continue their slide against wba tnight. Another moan the commentators on the worldwide feed are sh1te think it was gary stevens what a banker first started off intimating that we had left the pitch with ruts on purpose and just continued to talk a load of ######. He was surprised by the atomsphere at ewood god he drove me mad. And another thing how many times did reina run out of the box with the ball in hands before releasing a quick counterattack twice I counted. I noticed filan do this also is it just me ? we should have free kicks on the edge of the box
  12. Not much of a setback as that was his first game for a couple of months and they haven't done badly without him ! Sven will be more concerned re: lack of match practice

  14. with the hereford defeat today that leaves stanley 7 points from gaining promotion. Off course that requires Hereford to win all remaining games. Stanley are on the way up. Could be playing Blackpool next season !!
  15. century radio report never indicated any injury to bellers. here's hoping he is fine. Good win bring on wigan
  16. I noticed today that Gerrard and Beattie and 08 numbers on their shirt. First time I have noticed this what is the reason behind this, does anybody on here know http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/p...ies/4844572.stm
  17. maybe wrong thread but this makes me angry. Last yr I thought they said that they had to be played at Cardiff. The Football Association have confirmed the venues for the FA Cup semi-finals. Old Trafford and Villa Park have been chosen, with Cardiff's Millennium Stadium being saved for the final itself. Chelsea versus Liverpool will be at Old Trafford on Saturday April 22, with kick-off at 5:15pm. The second semi-final will take place the following day at Villa Park and will be live on Sky Sports at 4:00pm.
  18. I was thinking all along that the FA/Media love affair with West Ham would result in chelsea v liverpool, makes me puke last 2 semi final draws went against us cos they wanted/hoped for the big prestigious final now cos its west ham I am sure of it it is a conspiracy bet your bottom dollar that if rovers were in the semi final we would be playin either lpool or chelsea. It is a conspiracy I tell thee guaranteed UEFA fball for wham/charlton/mboro.
  19. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ity/4818286.stm dunn out for the season. no matter how much I would like him back if he is goin to keep playin 3 games and breaking down we should keep well clear. adds to brums misery though
  20. Bolton have two games in hand which would take them to 48pts providing they win both. Don't know who there games in hand are against. Not all over yet by a longshot. Should be very tight. I will be happy with a UEFA slot. If we end up fourth typical Rovers is to do a Everton and end up out of Europe before end of August !!
  21. Agree with your comments USABlue it was a crackerjack of a game. Rovers mauled them for the majority of the game. How refreshing this type of football must surely bring the punters back. On another day rovers could have had at least 4 the pongolle miss and the stunning robinson save from the bentley long range effort. Not to mention the 2 dubois keane strikes !! A stunning first goal free flowing football great cross and a superb flying header from pongolle redeeming himself. This partnership could be a real threat. Lets hope Rafa gets the cash he wants and we can do a cut price deal thats of course if the lad wants to stay and play. I see no reason why we can't get an automatic UEFA spot with the fixtures remaining.
  22. Also if you are accusing me for talking crap YOU get your facts right see below Matt Derbyshire (Wrexham) appearances 2005/20062004/2005 Date Competition Home Res Away Gls Crd 14/02/2006 League Two Wrexham 2-0 Rushden & D. 2 02/01/2006 Championship Plymouth Arg. * 0-3 Leeds Utd. 0 31/12/2005 Championship Wolves 1-1 Plymouth Arg. * 0 10/12/2005 Championship Watford 1-1 Plymouth Arg. * 0 03/12/2005 Championship Coventry City 3-1 Plymouth Arg. * 0 26/11/2005 Championship Plymouth Arg. * 0-2 Reading 0 19/11/2005 Championship Plymouth Arg. * 3-1 Q.P.R. 0 30/10/2005 Championship Plymouth Arg. * 0-0 Millwall 0 22/10/2005 Championship Luton Town 1-1 Plymouth Arg. * 0 24/09/2005 Championship Southampton 0-0 Plymouth Arg. * 0 20/09/2005 League Cup Barnet 2-1 Plymouth Arg. 0 17/09/2005 Championship Plymouth Arg. 1-0 Burnley 0 13/09/2005 Championship Plymouth Arg. 1-1 Crewe Alex. 0 10/09/2005 Championship Norwich City 2-0 Plymouth Arg. * 0 Appearances 4 (* + 10 as sub); Goals 2; Yellow cards 0; Red cards 0 He started 3 games for Plymouth not 1 !
  23. For the record I am not having a go at derbyshire I hope he pulls through and becomes a quality player. Nothing better than a local lad coming through the ranks. Lets not try to build the lad up to be the next superstar coming thru the academy cos he obviously isn't. If he was that good he would be in the squad now !! He was playing for Great Harwood Town FFS and scoring 3 for plymouth reserves and a brace against R+D doesn't mean that he will do this in the premiership does it. Fair play to the lad the 2nd goal was quality as I said before.
  24. knobcheese ask yourself why he only started one game then !!
  25. Saw the secong goal on SSN yes it was very good but who were they playing R+D aren't they bottom and the team stanley will be replacing in the fball league. He didn't set the world alight at Plymouth. Until he plays and scores for the first team regularly he remains as with alot of rovers youngsters promising and a more than capable lower league player.
