  1. Need some help here. My missuss is a big "Queen" fan and saw the adert on "Granada" for the "Queen" + Paul Rodgers concert at MEN, and suggested we fork out £100+ to have the chance to see a second class "Queen" plus some guy we haven't heard of before play some of the old favourites. Anyway, we bought a CD of said couple and no "Queen" songs . Anybody know if the concert will be the same? If it is, I'd rather spend our money on a good tribute band/concert. Thanks.
  2. --> QUOTE(Ste B @ Sep 23 2007, 21:46 ) 548786[/snapback] I'll see your Chico and raise you with Adam Hosker. Whats next at Ewood, the Cheeky Girls ??? At least Adam Hosker didn't "TRY" to sing, Chico will. I'm starting to feel a little sympathetic towards burnley's "proper" footy fans, what with jeff "ah say, sing up jimmy mac, sing up aaargreaves upper, ah say sing up sing up, sing one song get one free Brown, Chico and dancing dogs.I reckon if we weren't such bitter rivals they'd be sneaking down to Ewood for some proper footy atmosphere. ( Japanese artists with ars8 hanging out excepted.)
  3. Things could be worse, the dingles have decided to employ "Chico" at their next home game He'e going to get them going with their "anthem"??? "500 mlies" before the game and at half time. Their fans are not happy, they're telling each other to keep it quiet as it's embarrassing, and other clubs fans might laugh at them if it comes out , NEVER
  4. Just been shopping at Colne Asda, and they have the official Blackburn Rovers 2007 calenders on sale! No big deal to most people, but over this side of East Lancs, shops selling rovers stuff officail or un-official is about as rare as a dingle without a criminal record. Somebody in the marketing department has decided to branch out, about bloody time. Best bit was when a little lad, about seven/eight, pointed at the calendar i was looking at, and said, "Robbie Savage" One small step, and all that. PS Didn't see any dingle calenders for sale Though I admit I never looked on the top shelf under obcene.
  5. It was on telly, Sky. dingle next door went, offered me and my lad his telly and house for the afternoon, said "Stay as long as you want but don't smash the house up when Rovers lose" temted to leave him and his missus a message, but fair enough, decent people, who offered us a chance to see a match that otherwise (money wise at that time) we would never have watched.
  6. Four Thousand Goals" According to the BBC, Rovers are 2 goals away from conceding 4,000 goals in top flight football. Don't know whether to celebrate or cry. All goals conceded are bad, but some are tragic, : out of cup/ relegated/missed out on play offs/cheated by scousers or mancs/goals that feel like a kick in th b0** ocks but later mean ziltch (Dingle equaliser in the F.A. cup)etc. What is the most damaging goal ever scored against Blackburn Rovers????
  7. Dignles losing 0-1 to mighty Hartlepool in the carling cup, 8 mins to go. Come on the Pool.
  8. A few seasons ago we thrashed Wolves 5-0 on the opening day, if i remember rightly we were struggling at the end of the season. Last season we lost and went on to 6th place. In the words of Corporal J ones " Don't panic, don't panic."
  9. Apparently Mick Mcarthy went over to the dingle fans and made a cheeky bid to sign up the dingles who shouted "you'll always be a b******D" . He said, "I could use them every game, to spur the lad on, they worked a treat". Hehe.
  10. Just read two Robert Rankin novels in Turkey. The bloke is bonkers, but if you want a laugh and a light read, he's your man. " The Brighronomican" was the better of the two, but I'm sure lots of Rovers fans would enjoy "Knees up mother Earth". The latter is a story about the authors favorite town (Brentford) winning the F.A. cup, the last time being 1928 MMmm, seem to remember a certain team in blue & white halves did that. But, one of the best sections of the book is when Brentford are drawn against Burnley Rankin must have actually done some research here, as he talks about : Burnley fans wanting to beat away fans to death, the sounds of breaking glass and shops being looted after burnley were defeated, and "As we drove away, there was a red glow in the sky where Burnley used to be". If I didn't know better, I'd suspect the guy of being a Rover's fan.
  11. Don't like he way the BBC commentater's/pundits keep saying who England will be playing after the group stages. I'm all for showing confidence but the way they go on is bordering on arrogance and shows disrespect to the other teams involved in the competition. Let's hope it doesn't come back to bite them/us on the arse. ITV, on the other hand, seem to have learnt from previous gaffs (Was it Keegan, against Romania, "There's only one team going to win it now", seconds before Romania scored the winner? I'd love to see England win, but the World cup to me means enjoying watching ALL the teams in the competition. The way the BBC puts down other teams and "bigs up" England is a disgace. And that gobs*ite Ian "drama queen" Wright hasnt been on yet.
  12. Just got back from Wigan (Orrell), (Some of you don't know how to celebrate a rare Rovers away victory ) Great party last night and today Especially enjoyed the begruded complimentry praise from my pie eating friends On the subject of the morons to our left at JJB, I'm sure I saw the bobbies chucking some of them out during the game, don't know if it was related to the racist incident. On the whole think Wigan fans are o.k. if lacking a little in football tradition (For obvious reasons), how many songs did they sing????
  13. Got my tickets this morning. Watch Rovers win in the afternoon, then rejoin family at my old army mates house in Orrell to celebrate New Year. Perfick.
