  1. Sack the swede, sack the swede, sack the swede. I have never witnessed a bigger display of tactical ineptitude in my life. Get rid of the swede before its too late. he has already proved in the last two campaigns that he has no tactical nouse. The capitulation against brasil and the reluctance to take off underperforming so called star players against portugal. The guy is a liability and is clearly only concerned about his big wages and where he next parks his nudger. This crop of players are world class and should be winning things not struggling to qualify from the easiest group there is.
  2. Spot on Hughsey It was marvellous to see the team spirit in a Rovers side. At the end of the game Nelson and Todd walked off the pitch with their arms around each others shoulders. Other players were generally congratulating each other. Stead was wonderful and on another night could have had a hat-trick. Hopefully Hughes will now stop playing the woefully inadequate Dickov, who has served his purpose by helping keep us up and contributing to the new team spirit.
  3. Has anybody any idea when they are going to announce whether the game is Saturday or Sunday? I need to book accomodation so the sooner I know the better. Cheers Chaps
  4. One word ..... awesome. Even Moyes was gracious enough to admit that the best team won. Have to agree with Waggy though that it would be nice to see the team without Dickov for a while. I know it will upset some of you but whilst he is undoubtably a hard worker he has never worked as a team player. Its one of the reasons Stead hasn't scored. For all his faults Andy Cole was superb at linking with the other striker and created the openings or the pass for most of Stead's goals last season. Sadly Dickov doesn't do this. Anyway to finish on a positive note..... same word ......awesome
  5. Steven Reid was absolutely fantastic yesterday......But then again, the whole team were beyond belief. What an awesome performance. Can't remember anybody putting a foot wrong. Commentators were all asking was Cahill the buy of the season. He wasn't.... Nelson was. Happy days chaps and chapesses.
  6. Glad the big girls blouse has gone. He was crap and Savage is a much better player for us. £5m for him makes the fee for Savage look cheap. It just sickens me the way we have been turned over by Rangers/Souness. £6.5m for a girl and £1.5m for an overweight pasta chef and we let them have Berg for free. Not obvious that Souness and Murray are best buddies is it?
  7. Plus points from last night were: 1. Mark Hughes's attitude - very refreshing and I think that given a few weeks he will really make a difference. 2. The return of Jansen to the first team - he won just about every header and was the only player in our team who seemed to be able to control the ball. 3. Dickov - nasty little devil but never gives up. 4. Bothroyd - Looked lively Negatives were: 1. Emerton - why does he insist in cutting in all the time when he has the pace to go past defenders? Also at times his ball control is woeful. 2. Gray - Needs far too long on the ball. Defensively he was OK but when he had the ball he dilly dallied so long he either lost it or was forced into making a pass which gave the recipient no chance. 3. Ferguson - Needs to get back to how he was just before the injury. He was very ineffectual last night. 4. Stead - Tries hard but desperately needs a goal. 5. Ref - Does anybody else think that the refs have got their heads together and decided it would be really funny to see how long they can make Rovers go without awarding a penalty? The ref who awards the first penalty has to pay for the Xmas do perhaps. In summary.....seriously naffed off after last night but excited about what Hughes can achieve for us.
  8. Forgot to mention that it is inevitable that we will win tonight as I predicted from the outset that we would win the whole competition. We will meet the frogs in the final and show them what they should have had last time.
  9. No doubt about it.... good win for England .... 2-0
  10. Really don't understand why lots of you are so pessimistic about our chances against the French. The whole team is not made up of megastars. They definitely have their short-comings. I mean look at the goalie...he makes calamity james look like captain invincible. The defense are not the players they once were. People are remembering too much the exploits of the team 8 and 6 years ago. Right fire away....I've my tin hat on
  11. Definite win for England....The Germans are rubbish. So are the Dutch. The French have just lost their manager who was responsible for dragging them from the depths of their World Cup nightmare. The Spaniards never win anything...always bottle it at the last......So its either us or the Italians. Simple really
  12. PD's son Sam "has always been a Rovers Fan" Now that's interesting. Let's hope Dad plays his heart out for his lad if not for us lot. Good signing
  13. Told my wife that Mr Dickov was Croatian and that his christian name was Lafmi. Funny thing was she believed me........Yorkie....its not for girls
