  1. Not been on for a while but that has nothing to do with Saints playing like some schoolboy team in the last couple of months. I had the dis-pleasure of watching Catalan doing to us what we did to Bradford in the GF way back when. Thank fook Simmons has gone, despite injuries we have a top 6 team but recently no passion. Things are looking up now, hang on, Leeds on Sunday, ace
  2. Shocking News - RIP Gary. A true professional and a true footballing gent. Thoughts to family and friends.
  3. Been on here for just over 5 years after spending a year or so lurking. If you see a post of mine after 11pm at weekends then you can be sure l've broken rule one of forum posting - DO NOT POST WHEN INTOXICATED - so apologies to anyone l have/will offend after that time I'm Simon, l'm 37 and l grew up in Clitheroe but only really started going on Ewood in the mid to late 80's mainly due to my parents not having any interest in football and l was too young to go on my own. I now live in Mill Hill and so l am close enough and old enough to go by myself, although l have my 11 year old son to look after me on match days I can be found in the Darwen End singing section on match days trying to get my son to experience as close to the atmosphere l grew up with, stood in the middle at the right at the back of the old BBE. Those days are long gone unfortunately. "You are my sunshine....." EDIT: Whatever happened to the lasses who stood on the BBE with knitted brfc jumpers in the 80's, l remember they had 3 on the back and were massive Chris Sulley fans. Funny the things you remember.
  4. I thought the video ref was there for a reason - USE HIM
  5. I wouldn't say l'm anti Rhino's (although l should be with all the GF losses to them) what l can categorically state is that l despise Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Ryan Bailey, horrible excuses for professional players.
  6. I've finally got over what was in effect probably the worst GF in years. And l'm sick to death of Burrow the nippy little midget And was it only me that nearly threw up when it showed Shentons dislocation in slo-mo? As for the whole League v Union debate, anyone in any confusion about the more entertaining of the two codes just watch the England - France WC game again. Yes it pays more but it's a middle class southerner dominated game but then l'm preaching to the converted on here
  7. On the site they say you can pick them up from the ticket office at Old Trafford My link Not sure how much help this is but if they haven't turned up tomorrow l'd be taking proof of purchase with me to Old Trafford and heading for the ticket office. Hope it turns out well for you and you get in ok (unless you're cheering on Leeds of course) COME ON YOU SAINTS
  8. Was due to be going but an unforseen financial circumstance meant l had to cancel. Need a car more than a day out . I wouldn't take the risk LeftWinger, l have heard it done for Utd games but l'm not sure of the set up for RL. Did you get your tickets through Saints/Leeds or the offical RLFC site?
  9. On the subject of Chorley didn't they change their name to Lancashire Lynx at one point too? Isn't there an amateur club in Blackburn - someone told me they play at the back of the Hare & Hounds on Lammack Road?
  10. Well done pal. Trust me next game in the DE there will be more banners - bring yours.

  11. That's the Kean out pic not the one of you , lol :-D

  12. Chris can you pm me the url for the pic. Cheers fella

  13. ... Leyland - the last suburb of St.Helens
  14. Anyone else on this thread going Old Trafford next week? I didn't think so Joking aside, what happened to your lot 2nd half? S.Tomkins did his usual prancing about but with little end product, Leuluai, was he playing? That wasn't the Wigan side l was expecting, they caved in. I'd have Graham as MOM with Moore not far behind. Roby had a v.quite game and Price didn't even play (neither did 25% of the usual 1st team). In all a very enjoyable day. Bring on the Rhinos.
  15. Quote from LET : "it is understood Venky’s decided it was time to freshen things up after seeing their side sitting in the relegation zone". There's still a rancid stench around Ewood even after Jensens departure - l think you might have removed the lesser of the two odours Venky's
  16. This threads turning into a Wigan RLFC love in, time to end that I've followed Saints since the days of Alex Murphy and been getting to Knowsley Road for about 4 or 5 games a season. I will be at the match on Saturday but in all honesty l can't see us beating Wigan in 2 consecutive games. Saying that the young un's did us proud last time out so it should be a belter. Come on You Saints
  17. Glenn, my brother has done the designs for the Spreadshirt site and he wanted to know if l can put the link up on BRFCS. He's taking no profit and has as gone as far as to say he'll take designs on despite the copyright/parody problems we have in the UK. He's an internet security analyst so l presume he has some way of not getting tracked. Anyways, this is me asking the question. Ch...

  18. I'm a techie too and l can see where you're coming from regarding the centralisation of data (god knows it's saved me hours of work working in Local Government ) but the selling point the Government is terrorism. It just seems to be a typical kneejerk reaction from an already untrustworthy government (is there such a thing as a trustworthy one lol). The thing that bothers me is if my "ID" is stolen, l get a "visit" and get banged up for god knows how many days they can hold you for now. We know how easy identity theft is now but the worst that happens is you end up a few hundred quid down. Someone steals your ID and your looking at a very uncomfortable stay at her majesties pleasure. It's unnecessary, l have a passport, a NINO, a driving licence etc, as soon as you pull them all together then the damage that is possible is frightening.
  19. I think the point here celaeno is what advantages are there in such a system? We're pretty sure it'll have little if any effect on terrorism as was proven in Spain. The only one's that will be penalised are the one's who's ID is stolen, those who forget to inform whoever when they change some specific detail in other words everyday normal people. "ID does not establish intention. Competent criminals and terrorists will be able to subvert the identity system. Random outrages by individuals can't be stopped. Ministers agree that ID cards will not prevent atrocities. A blank assertion that the department would find it helpful is not an argument that would be entertained for fundamental change in any other sphere of government but national security. Where is the evidence? Research suggests there is no link between the use of identity cards and the prevalence of terrorism, and in no instance has the presence of an identity card system been shown a significant deterrent to terrorist activity. Experts attest that ID unjustifiably presumed secure actually diminishes security." Link So, if the reason for it's introduction is actually a reason against, then why spend millions (that could be spent on more worth while needs) on it in the first place?
  20. Absolutly nothing on tv last night so l had a sift thru the old dvd collection. Ended up watching The Holy Grail, how good is that film !!! Forgot what an absolute classic it was. Life of Brian tonight for me. God Bless Python
  21. This is quite simply brilliant. Radio 1's track of the week.
  22. l got the whole Christmas and money arguement, even tho l was prepared to take the alleged cheap option and drive to Rotterdam. That one less pressie for me to buy this xmas tho. Revenge is a good thing Sams Bar Watersedge will be my little Holland for this evening. COME ON ROVERS. And to the Blue Army out there, do us proud
