  1. The BWFC comments…………. First of all the game, yes we road our luck a little, but any team that misses 2 penalties in a game doesn’t really deserve to get much. You’re right Blackburn had chances and the goal that wasn’t was dubious but BWFC had their chances. Lets not forget Diouf hit the post and should have done far better when through in the first half. As for style of play you can only play with the players you’ve got and more importantly can afford. Half the premier league teams seem to be of the view that Bolton should turn up, play in a very entertaining 6-2 defeat and be quite happy! Some of you seem to be forgetting that the only reason you’re ever seen players such as Shearer at Ewood and some of the players you’ve got NOW is all down to Mr J Walker and his legacy. Realistically with the attendances at Ewood (and that’s not slagging you off) do you really think you’d even have some of the players you’ve got today if they weren’t being ‘subsidised’?? Let’s not forget you paid £7m for Kevin Davies, we got him for nowt! Nine games in and we’ve conceded 1 goal from open play out of 4 conceded and we’re 3rd in the league….if you think all that’s down to luck then so be it (show’s your lack of knowledge of the game in my book!). I’m more than happy for BWFC to carry on being ‘lucky’ as I’m quite sure you’d settle for Blackburn being ‘lucky’ if you were in the same place as us! As for Diouf, you seem to becoming obsessed by hurling abuse at him more than supporting / commenting on your own team. Walking out of the Bolton end to witness Blackburn ‘fans’ giving a statement to a WPC of how is behaviour was inciting the crowd was laughable! Lets be honest do you think Dioufs made a complaint to the police about all the abuse he was receiving throughout the game???? As in any walk of life if you can’t handle getting some abuse back then don’t give it in the first place! Let’s not forget you’ve got that little angel in your side, one Mr Robbie Savage! Don’t get me wrong I’ve no doubt Rooney and Ronaldo will get lots of abuse at the Reebok on Saturday. Am I going to complain or do I expect other BWFC fans to complain IF they score and proceed to give some ‘abuse’ back to the supporters?? No, it’s called banter and what makes football great chaps!!!!!
  2. Ticket update, the club have sold all their allocation of 5,600 tickets, not yet sure if we’ll be given anymore. Now some of you seem to be missing the point on this one completely, I’m not attempting to gloat about the number of tickets we’ve sold, that’s down to the fact it’s £15/£5 to get in. My point is that this is the best way possible of showing the board at BWFC that if you lower the cost the crowds will go up, a fact that a very significant number of BWFC supporters think the same about! What I am saying is if Blackburn fans DONT respond in the same way how can you ever legitimately complain to the club again that the price of getting in is the reason for you not going??? Yes there are always people who can’t go for various reasons, however reading some of the comments on here I already get the feeling that there are a lot of people getting their excuses in early for why they didn’t bother on Sunday! Don’t get me wrong we have exactly the same at Bolton, just don’t use the price as an excuse if the bottom line is you can’t be arsed. As for Bolton’s team, you men remind me of all the JCLs at the Reebok! ‘We’re a shocking team to watch’, hi you’re right, you know we were so much more entertaining to watch when we kept getting relegated from the prem, losing games 4-2 and 6-0 at home to Man Utd! Bottom line is footy’s about results and anyone who says anything else is talking c**p!! We all like to watch a great entertaining game, but the bottom line at any club is if you lose every week no matter how well you’re playing you’re crowds will progressively go down. Don’t tell me that any of your supporters over in Poland (and most of you on here) wont settle now for a ‘boring’ 1-0 win tonight??? The standard of footy is just another one of those ‘standard excuses’ that people trot for not going when again the reason is they just can’t be bothered! Not going got get into the debate about Diouf, etc. other than to say I’ve not doubt Mr Savage will be up to his old tricks on Sunday!!!
  3. you're missing the point lads! you don't filll the ground for this game, and the same for us i may add, all the arguement about it being too expensive to get in being the reason for people not going to games goes straight out of the window. will it be £15 for you men at the reebok?? no chance i would say unless it's a virtual sell out on sunday, BWFC have already said that. why?? the powers that be would just say what's the point in lowering the price like blackburn have if it doesn't increase the gate significantly. i don't agree with them, but you cant disagree with their financial logic. bottom line is it needs fans on both sides to get off their arse, get to the game and fill the ground. if they don't next year we're all back to paying full wack as clubs will just argue it's not worth their while to reduce prices, simple as that!!!!
  4. Right you men, As I posted the other week I expected us to sell out our allocation for Sunday. As of today bottom tier sold out, top tier on sale and expected to go before long! Question is will Blackburn?? This is the best opportunity ever for BOTH sets of supporters to show the people in charge, not just at Blackburn and Bolton, that if you reduce the price you’ll fill the ground!! As I said before, if you can’t fill the ground for this you NEVER will…….. Was laughing at one or two of the posts on the ‘old gate debate’! I’m the first to admit ours was a very poor following at yours last year, however let’s just see what you’ll be taking away in the Prem if you’re still in Europe after Christmas and on you 3rd / 4th away trip. Same as with us I can assure you, if you’re struggling for cash to go on a euro jolly the first thing you’ll hit on the head will be away league games. As for the comments on BWFC’s style of play, etc, nearly laughable. Beat Newcastle comfortably for me on Sunday and that could quite easily have been 3 or 4-1 in the end, blatant penalty turned down with the Duff hand ball and Anelka’s near miss. It’s time some of the football world gave credit to a team who are 3rd in the league 2 months into the season, you don’t get there through being ‘lucky’ every week!
  5. Read with interest a few comments on here about my earlier post, BWFC and yourselves..... Will being in Europe have an impact on your crowds?? The answers YES and it'll be detrimental. You'll end up with numerous games on Sundays at various times which just doesn't encourage people to go, especially away games. Been watching the whites for 30 years and last year I only did 6 away league games which for me isn't good. Don't know who you play in the league away in November but I cant see any long threads about travel, hotels etc! All the talks about one thing, going on a European jolly! In some ways I was pleased we didn't qualify this year as for the majority of supporters attending away European games last year became priority and unfortunately away league games juts didn't have the same appeal. You only have to look at the support we took to see how people were spending their money..... 2,000 to Bulgaria 500 to Turkey 4,000 to Portugal and 4,500 to Marseille I'm actually looking forward to away league games far more this season and I know a lot of others are. As I said before our following at yours was very poor (I did go by the way!), but I think you'll find you'll be in exactly the same position. I did 3 out of 4 Euro games and spent at least £1,000 doing so. When you know you're forking out that sort of cash spending £30 for an away game at 5.15 on a Saturday night, on Sky in the middle of January just doesn't seem quite as appealing to a lot of people even if it is a local derby! Read the comments in the Bolton press by the way about us not thinking of going down the same route with reduced prices, must say though if the game's a sell out I think that'll make them look long and hard at that one!!! Still convinced we’ll sell out by the way given the amount of interest being shown!
  6. right you rovers men, Bolton fan here! first of all i can only congratulate the powers that be for actually doing something radical for this match! all i will say is if you men don't sell out the ground for this one at £15 and £5 to get in you never will and i'd also add don't ever moan about the price of getting in being the reason for folk not turning up again!!! from a Bolton perspective i'm assuming we've been given the full end if required and to be honest based on interest so far i'll be surprised if we don't sell out. it's being viewed by many as a great opportunity to show BWFCs board that if you want full houses bring the prices down! saturday against liverpool was the first time we haven't sold out against them since we got back in the prem, reason being £31 to £39 for pay on the day supporters as it was a 'category A+' game, simple as that. i'm the first to admit that last season our following at yours was poor, not excuses but charging £30 or whatever it was for a game just after xmas which is on sky at 5.15 with an away trip for 4,500 BWFC fans to marseille coming up it wasn't a surprise! as i said and this applies to both sets of fans, there are NO EXCUSES for not filling the ground at £15 and £5 to get in. if it's a sell out then both sets of directors are going to have to look long and hard at each clubs pricing policy!!!
