  1. Assault? He got a bit wet, for crying out loud. I for one am quite glad that it wasn't brought up - the very fact it was raised as an issue in the first place makes him look a bit mard.
  2. For the record, I think Shefki will be missed far less when Jason Roberts gets back to fitness. I'll never forget that game against the Baggies last year when Shefki came off the bench to replace the injured Bellamy early in the game, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win. Remember when he barged Dickov off the ball to score the second when they both broke through? Classic. Just goes to show that a big work ethic (and you couln't fault Kuqi or Dickov on that front) and a bit of physical presence can get you a long way against the cloggers of the Premiership.
  3. Are you the "blind man on a galloping horse" that Gordon keeps banging on about?
  4. Yeah, you're right, Den. That's rubbish. Savage picked up his fifth domestic yellow of the season for breathing too close to one of the opposition players in the home game against Bolton, and has already served the five card ban. Today's was his sixth domestic booking.
  5. We were talking about a loan deal. It's pie in the sky, I understand, but funnier things have happened.
  6. Sounds as though the keeper has moved out of position to collect a long ball thinking noone was going to get a touch, but Nonda did and the ball went past him into the empty net.
  7. I was at every game in that 7 match winless run apart from the Watford game. Talk about wheels coming off... Here is the sorry rundown in full... Blackburn 0-2 Charlton Barnsley 2-1 Blackburn Port Vale 2-0 Blackburn Watford 2-1 Blackburn Blackburn 1-2 Wolves Blackburn 0-1 Leicester (damn that Rooster) Tranmere 2-2 Blackburn (and we were grateful of a point there) Then going two down at home to Derby after about ten minutes in the play-off semi... Boy, did we do it the hard way. It's kind of hard to believe how the following three years panned out.
  8. This squad's looking a bit thin now, isn't it? We have about half of our first-choice picks on the sidelines today. Hopefully it will give someone on the fringes a chance to make a claim.
  9. Amen to that if he hasn't already gone to United come the 31st of January. It would be like having Bellers back.
  10. I'm setting off in a couple of hours. Never been to Amsterdam before. Should be a laugh. We're on the 1800 from Leeds/Bradford, and stopping at the Quentin Arrive in Amsterdam.
  11. I'll have a go... Friedel, Emerton, Tugay, Savage, McCarthy. Good question. Best: Savage, Bentley, Tugay, Friedel Worst: Gamst, Ooijer (but he's getting better) We've tidied things up a lot in defence. Emerton took a while to settle into defending again, Neill has been playing in an unfamiliar position and Ooijer was new to the Prem. Benni has started to find the net and the improving form of Bentley and, in particular, Savage has helped immensely. Tugay was suspended for the first three which didn't help. Strengths: Genius in the transfer market with no warchest; A cool head; Tactically sound. Weaknesses: Slow to change things during games; Former Manc. In my opinion, Roberts and McCarthy, but we haven't seen enough of it yet due to Roberts' injury.
  12. Leave off Lawro. He got eight right and five perfect last weekend. Must be some kind of record. If only he had a little more faith in the Rovers it could have been nine.
