  1. The National Fronts poster boys if memory serves me correctly?
  2. How many times have Germany won Euros and World Cup? They’ve never had the best league or best players in the world, I’m not buying that damo.
  3. Shearer was better than Kane in his pomp.
  4. Admission prices and season tickets 80/81 - CRAZY!
  5. Its all about opinions of course damo and I respect yours. You talk about Pep and Klopp, but they're never coming to manage England and lets not forget we had a manager of this calibre in Capello, probably in Venables and Robson too, all failed to reach the heights Southgate has, food for thought maybe?
  6. I remember Ipswich Town under Bobby Robson winning the UEFA Cup in 80's, they won FA Cup in 70's and the league 1960's, they've always had a good pedigree a generation or two before Jack came along. That makes them an exciting prospect for any investor, as does Blackburn Rovers league title win and league cup win more recently. You don't need masses of support to protest, Reading have shown that, its happening at Sheff Weds too right now. If you have organisation and a will to succeed, a few hundred can make a massive difference.
  7. Italy were the best side in the competition and backed it up, no shame in losing to them in my opinion. The Euro 96 side was the best England side in my lifetime, with a world class manager running the show and even they couldn't make it into the final. We shouldn't under estimate the achievement of Southgate last time out, who out performed every other England manager since 1966!
  8. Its interesting to note, that a number of our 'celebrity fans' didn't want to get involved in the mud slinging back in the early days of this lots reign. I know several attempts were made to try and bring more publicity to our plight and many celebs ran a mile.
  9. Gareth Southgate is the most successful England manger since Alf Ramsey, but he's won nothing. But what he has done is take his England side to European Championship final, something that every other England manger has failed to do in the history of the competition, think about that. That statistic alone means he deserves to be in his current position and all this nonsense about "once in a generation talent pool" is something we've been hearing for decades, usually with the same outcome, failure! Friendly internationals against Brazil mean nowt, its what happens in a few months time that really matters.
  10. Superb result. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
  11. Was that the cup game at Forest on the Saturday? We won the replay at Ewood mid 80’s?
  12. Is that the Scott Dann who went from here to have a very good career in Premiership with Palace and was called up to England squad? Hyam, like Dann, is more a victim of the players around him than anything else in my opinion. He was outstanding last season, you don’t become a bad player overnight.
  13. I’d rather the judge just jails the bastards and throws away the key. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
  14. Just had my first listen to Squire/Gallagher album, first impression is, not great to be honest, aside from ‘Mars to Liverpool’ which is a banger. Liams voice is excellent and Squires guitar playing is superb, sounds of Blues, Hendrix, Beatles and The Byrds, but I’m not sure the package is anything to write home about, when it should be. Come back in 2wks time and I’ll love it I’m sure 🫣
  15. Safe trip to the Rovers hordes, who will be making one of the longest trips of the season, lets hope the lads can reward that loyalty with at least a point. Swansea 1 Rovers 1
  16. Dave Myers of Hairy Bikers fame has died aged 66 from Cancer. A lovely chap from Barrow-in-Furness, really gutted me this one...
  17. Brilliant album @Upside Down and a great time for the country. Richard seemed to struggle with the limelight, he's like Liam Gallagher with more attitude if that is possible, which tells its own story! Looking forward to this coming out tomorrow:
  18. You know what Polky, after the loss to Sheff Utd in the cup last season we all retired to a neighbour pub in Crookes Sheff. The draw for the next round was on Tv - Manchester City v Sheffield United A couple of blades sat at the bar started shouting at each other and stormed out. As they walked away you could hear the desperation and anger at drawing City. Made the loss a little easier to take I can tell you 👍
  19. I'm sure its not lost on anyone, but the atmosphere last night came across loud and clear and the gates was very good too. This is what it used to be like week in week out before these inept owners arrived on the scene. All we need is decent ownership, proper people running the club again and nights like last night will become the norm. Well done to all concerned and special mention for mini protest, which was beamed around the world on BBC and make no mistake it was mentioned many times in commentary, job done. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
  20. Anti Venky loud and clear on worldwide Tv - Job done and I salute everyone one of you.
  21. I've said on many occasions that the FA Cup tie last season away to Sheff Utd really stirred something inside of me and the wider fanbase, it proved this club still has the support and in big numbers if we can get the off field stuff right. Sadly with Wharton being sold and JDT being forced out, in my eyes I feel like we are back to square one, we are always one bad decision away from disaster under these rats, but in this case 2! I have no interest in tonight's game, I've given my tickets away, but as always I hope we win for the superb downtrodden supporters, they deserve better, much better. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
  22. You also found it exciting earlier in this thread oojw. You were waxing lyrical about the 'new exciting approach' and how the side needs to be fully committed to it. What has changed?
  23. Of course, we saw it during this series. We abandoned the all out attack at times, the 3rd innings in this test for example, we batted 26 overs for 37 runs, just over 1 run an over, the first innings was also slow and these aren’t the only example. Stokes first series loss by the way, his record is tremendous.
  24. We could return to the days of 1 series win in 17 which is where we sat before Key and Baza came in? What this side has achieved has been phenomenal, breaking records all over the place, I’m surprised at your comments. Not one batsman comes out with any credit? Are you sure you’ve been watching the same series? Maybe you want blockers at each end and play for a draw? Give me bazball all day long, this test has been terrific.
  25. Its been a great series, enthralling with some fantastic cricket, but at times to have to hold your hands up and say we were beaten by the better side. Its on to Dharamsala next, I had hoped to make it out to India for this one, but due to other commitments I'm struggling to fit it in, looks a fantastic venue!
