  1. Fortunately it's not as bad the SNES/Megadrive era when nearly every title was exclusive to one or the other.
  2. He rescues them only to cook them afterwards? How mean. On a serious note, The Dark Knight, really really good film. The only down point was Bale's put on deep gravely voice he used when he was actually Batman. It was a bit laughable at times. I don't remember it being so off putting in Batman Begins. And although it was inevitable considering the guy died before the film was released, but if Ledger gets oscar nominated at least it won't just be because of his death. Does it beat Jack Nicholson's portrayal? Spose it's unfair to compare, the two Jokers were vastly different.
  3. Looks more like an expansion of the first game rather than a sequel. Course that won't stop it being good.
  4. If by first you mean "preceded by 30 years worth of other artists and music" sure I agree.
  5. If you think the Mighty Mighty Bosstones pioneered ska you've a lot of music to catch up on.
  6. That's an odd complaint to have considering most of the guns are capable of killing someone in one shot.
  7. There's retro gaming and then there's just too bloody old to get any enjoyment whatsoever out of it. The early 80s arcade games on Xbox Live are just utter pointless to play even for a retro nostalgic feeling. There's some good games on the master system which might be worth it (well would be worth it if you couldnt just download them for free on the PC) but the C64 is a step too old, you might think you loved all them games back when you were 5 but play them today and the whole memory gets ruined. At least that's my experience of these really old games. Even Dizzy is losing its charm.
  8. The thought the first one was brilliant, still one of the best games on the 360, both single player/co-op and multiplayer. Sticking a grenade in someone and watching them blow into many gory pieces is still a very heartwarming activity to partake in.
  9. Gears of War 2officially announced (shock horror!). Coming this November apparently. Which roughly means anytime from May to December 2009. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/splash/g/g...2/default.htm#g Trailers not much cop, doesn't exactly stir up hype. But for all the console war enthusiasts, it's exclusive to 360 still!
  10. I agree, most people don't "get" how you're supposed to play Dead Rising (which sounds incredibly condescening for which I don't mean to be) but I know I didn't understand it really at first but just ploughed on as you keep any level ups you make on your next fresh game - making it easier every time you restart. I also made the mistake of worrying over every mission and survivor - only people who are level 50 and played the game obsessively will be able to do every mission and rescue every survivor. Also, even if you fail one of the story missions it's not game over - you just get a different ending.
  11. Loved it on the NES, didn't play it ont he speccy but all of a sudden you've given me an urge to play the Dizzy games
  12. Anyone remember the Bionic Commando game on the NES? It's being remade for XBLA and PSN http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/846/846125p1.html There's also a brand new fully 3D sequel coming out but that's much less interesting as it's bound to be rubbish.
  13. Does look fairly ordinary. And I used to make better machine gun noises with my mouth when I was young.
  14. Preordered DMC4 special edition from Play, only £30 for the 360 version.
  15. And Resident Evil 5. Even if it's only a small improvement on 4 it'll be one of the best games of the year.
  16. Do people who complain of easy games ever crank up the difficulty settings? I'm trying veteran on CoD4 and it's far from easy.
  17. My xbox broke a month or so ago, not the red rings of death but still under a year old. Replaced in the shop i got it from (Gamestation), no hassle, no fuss, took 10 minutes. Did you try the shop before going to microsoft?
  18. I seem to remember a cartoony and daft football game on the NES that let you play as just one player. The two-player mode was really good and i'd always hoped another more serious football game would be released with this option. 20 years on they finally do it.
  19. Can you do co-op mode on the ps3 version? that's always good for a giggle and to extend the life of the game.
  20. I've only completed it in realistic, didn't bother with normal. I wasn't as disapointed with the ending as you though so I presumed it was different.
  21. It's extremely difficult and will have you pulling your hair out as the slightest error means you're dead. However my point was the ending may not seem no cheap after you complete it. Edit: Come to think of it, it's been a few months since I did it (on the 360) so I may be dreaming there's a different ending on realistic mode, but I think it's different anyway. Apologies if you work through it all and get the same crap ending you got before.
