  1. Well that's my annual visit to the cinema decided for 2012. Ridley Scott is a bloody legend.
  2. Anyone got Gears of War 3 yet? Didn't think they could surpass the tear-jerking death of Maria Santiago in GoW2, no spoilers here, but they did. How powerful games are becoming relative to movies and TV shows.
  3. I was hoping they would go down the path of user generated content, they appeared to be in FIFA 11 with the whole create your own team and share online thing (lots of BRFC '95 teams out there.) It's a labour of love for some people, I'd be quite happy to recreate Ewood as an .svg or applicable format if I knew it would end up in FIFA 12. That's the beauty of UGC, you know it's been created by someone with a passion for a love of whatever it is they are creating, rather than a way to make a quick buck. Wouldn't it be great to build the Ewood of yesteryear (terraces, Nuttall St. etc) and play in the era of Clayton and Douglas? Even if they charged a fiver for unilimited access to UGC it would be worth it and they would easily recover the extra hardware costs, it will probably be more expensive for them to implement this silly monthly subscription and sales would plummet. They're just taking the business model from phone apps and Sky and applying it to an industry where it just won't work.
  4. I've just come back from 2 weeks at home and brought all my Rovers stuff I had in the attic which includes my only purchase of a game on video and it just happens to be this game. I also have the program. Now I have to get it transfered which I know how to do (my mate still has a VCR), I just have to find the time... I'll let you know when I've done it.
  5. Heard the sad news when I tuned in for the game. Ronnie was a man I always referred to as the "nice man with sweets" - we lived at the same address as him but our address had a "West" suffix on it so we would occassinally get each others post by mistake. Ronnie would drop our post off, often with some sweets for me and my sister. I never realised who he was until my parents decided to tell me several years later! The only time I regret not being older than I am is that I never saw him play but such is his legendary status at Ewood that it is testament that those who were born after he retired are well aware of Rovers greatest legend. It is truly a sad day but one in which we will remember the great Ronnie Clayton. RIP.
  6. Too many games coming out too fast at the moment, I've barely got my teeth into Halo Reach just picked up Dead Rising 2 and Fifa 11 out soon. DR2 is better than the first one, which was brilliant IMHO, but is very similar and won't be to everyone's liking especially as it still contains that major pet hate - Japanese style boss battles - although they are few and far between the endless zombie bashing fun. Fifa 11 looks awesome, I hope you can share custom chants and music, it would be great to have the Ewood atmosphere and chants in game. Hope I have enough cash left for when Kinect comes out!
  7. HA! HA! You'll enjoy that one when you finish it, typical Rockstar humour and pays homage to a certain movie I won't mention.
  8. What is going on? Why were people throwing bins around? Why were they throwing them at their own fans? Why would you try and head a, presumably heavy, bin? Looks like an accident but what a stupid accident and something we really did not need at the moment. Minutes silence next home game would be in order. My condolences to the family.
  9. Anyone got "Force Unleashed" yet? First impressions? It has had mixed reviews but I still want to get it...
  10. Actually I think it was from before this. Around 1990/1991 Uncle Jack announced his presence on the footballing stage by putting in a cheeky 2m bid for Lineker (then at Spurs). It was universally laughed at and scorned by the media and I recall that Lineker was considering a lawsuit because the arrogant tw@ took it as an insult that a crappy D2 outfit would bid for him. Four years and one Alan Shearer (who completely upstaged Lineker's legend status) later and we were Champions. That is why I reckon he doesn't like us.
  11. That was a memorable game. I was in the Enclosure having moved there from the End which had become somewhat overcrowded that year! Shearer's lob was special, the Norwich keeper was just rooted to the spot. Cowans free kick was pretty spectacular as well...seems like yesterday... can't believe it was 15 years ago!
  12. We can't afford to lose him. He is so versatile, able to play right wing, right back and left back (he had a full season at Feyenoord in this position). He IS the fittest player in the squad and will run in the 89th minute like he does in the 1st making him one of those "really dangerous in the last 10 minutes" players. He lacked confidence before but Hughesy and a good World Cup set him right.
  13. Oh yeah and he said he was going to sue us! Stupid, arrogant, rubber-lipped ######. My vote goes to Paul Ince. Stupid, arrogant, rubber-lipped ######.
  14. According to the Actim stats Benni had ONE assist this season. What he does do is pass well in the box to others who provide the assist (like the back heels against Charlton). He's as cheeky on the field as off.
  15. Darren Bent 2.5m, with the same service Benni has had. I'm not denying Benni's scoring or the fact he was a very economical signing I'm trying to highlight his undeniable weakness - that he switches off after he has scored. If Alan Shearer had that attitude do you think we would have been Champions 12 years ago (today to be precise)?
