  1. Those fingerless gloves totally sold it - straight from the fruit cart. Thought Reid was going to kill him.
  2. If this forum found a bar of gold on the street it would complain that it was raining that day.
  3. This one seemed rather more high profile to me and with a great chance to actively advertise but it's just a feeling. Perhaps I'm just a bit too euphoric and will come down to my typical despondency and cynicism here shortly. I just want to be happy.
  4. My main take away this transfer window is that the owners may not be using the club as a cash cow. Could have easily sold Diaz and done a runner. Maybe they are after more than moolah.
  5. That would be some serious intent and quality but I'm afraid to very my hopes up.
  6. I'm typically cynical as can be but have to say our clubs new found ability to go about business silently is very encouraging.
  7. Wonder if this also puts impetus on the player to perform better as he would want to secure the move.
  8. Being able to sit and watch entire games repeatedly to pinpoint everything each player does is a fantastic tool and should be utilized. I hope we have a room full of peor doing this for every team we are fixing to play or player we are scouting - as well as in the flesh. Have never belived in getting excited about a relatively unknown player based on compilation YouTube videos.
  9. American corporations do it with sports teams all the time and thats what makes me feel very strongly that there is a way they are doing it. They are not here because they have a passion for Blackburn or advertising (because that would be available cheaper.) There has to be a finacial benefit, no company does anything to lose money on purpose unless its for tax reasons. I was also not being rude to the tax specialist, I just have no idea who he is. Google is also pretty worthless because you have to plough through so much sheer lies, propaganda and sensless waffle - I'm a prime example. Purely was asking for a link to actual legitimate tax related literature. Back to transfers.
  10. No. Ive been burned by "trust me bro" too many times. If you can link me, PM or no, to some literature about sports teams in particular I'd be grateful.
  11. Understood. Glad to see you don't have me on ignore. Still say judging and setting hopes based on videos is flawed and a recipe for disappointment with a side of animosity.
  12. Come the end of the window we may see that the only thing in Venkys special pot is a scrawny chicken.
  13. Tax write offs for the company. Just the purchase of the club alone would have given them millions in write offs for years. Then every year they can write off any loss and debt accrued against profit from the chicken business giving them a net gain.
  14. I dont think so. My point is you cant judge a player based on a small cutscene of 5 minutes, or less, spanning a career of nine plus years. This is how advertising works and so many people fall for it. The person who made the video has passion for the person or product. I'm sure someone could make a video of all his misses and misplaced passes, if they had the passion for doing so, and that would equally be as pointless to judge the worth. I could make a video of Hitler petting deer, playing with his dog and being nice to children, it wouldn't make him a nice person as showing a player scoring nine goals doesnt make him a good Championship striker.
