  1. I was at yesterday's game and I had to stand up to see the match. I bought a ticket for a seat to sit and watch the match but I had to stand. People saying they wouldn't stand if the people behind them wanted to sit is nonsense, as a woman I would be quite nervous of asking some of the more intimdating looking of our fans to sit down. I know I'm judging by appearances which may be unfair but I shouldn't have to ask people to sit when standing through the whole game is illegal. Fans should consider that there are other fans who find it difficult to stand for 45 minutes at a time and should not have to do this. Personally I think unacceptable behaviour in various forms e.g. standing, racist chanting etc. has been on the increase recently and action neds to be taken to curb this. As someone who just wants to go and support the team rather than getting drunk, joining in racist chants, making obscene gestures at rival fans etc. this is certainly discouraging me from attending away games. Finally I offer my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of the man who has died.
  2. I cannot imagine that we have £65k per week to pay him. The tackle wasn't as bad as I expected but it was totally unnecessary. He has only has himself to blame for all this media attention with his previous antics. Someone mentions the media trying to wreck his career but he doesn't need them he's making a pretty goood job of it on his own.
  3. Interestingly when you look on Man Utd's website the section we are in (E230) is priced at £34, so it looks like the thieving gits are charging us more than they would charge their own fans.
  4. There was a report in the papers last week about a well know person who had been having an affair getting a gagging order to stop the husband of the woman involved from selling the story to the papers.
  5. That's Birdy, the person to his right is Mrs Birdy.
  6. I know it's not John Williams' fault and I have said that in my letter, however it's wrong that we should be treated like that and people's complaints should be passed to the relevant authorities so that it doesn't happen to the next set of fans. I've been to eight european away games and that was the most badly organised. I always think you should go straight to the top!
  7. I thought the organisation was pathetic. Where were the direct trains to the stadium? We were told to get off the train at Rotterdam Blaak which was desserted, we ended up on a train full of Feyeenoord fans, some of whom were quite scary. The stewarding was rubbish and unreserved seating only works if the place is half empty. Luckily we got seats early, I would have been really annoyed if I couldn't see after spending good money to go there. Apparently the stewards sent people with middle section tickets to the upper section so no wonder it was over-crowded. I have to say that the trains were excellent compared to the UK, we were straight onto the train as we came out of the match and back in Amsterdam in about an hour to catch a clean, reasonably priced bus back to the hotel. We manged to vist the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, went for a boat trip round the canals and a walk round the red light district so overall a good trip. However my letter of complaint about the organisation at the ground is already penned and will be winging its way to John Williams tomorrow.
  8. From what I saw on the internet it looks like the Stadion station is on train route 11. I think that the station is only open when there's something on at the stadium, I'm assuming that the route 11 trains will stop at the station.
  9. I phoned today and was told I have got tickets, I have a ST and went to Salzburg and Krakow, my mate has a ST but didn't go to the other games. I asked how many tickets had been sold and was told they were close to selling out. I'm relly looking forward to it now.
  10. --> QUOTE(Ste B @ Oct 24 2006, 17:01 ) 454978[/snapback] No, but they could at least cut the 5 minutes of pre recorded bull i've altready read online you have to go through to find out that you are no 40 in a queue. The floating fan could easily decide that it could be easier watching the game in the pub. I agree 100%. It took five minutes to listen to all the pre-recorded stuff, I was number seven it the queue and it took me 20 minutes in total. If I had known the waiting time was 20 minutes at the outset I would have given up and tried at another time. A twenty minute phone call when there are only six people ahead of you in the queue is pretty poor.
  11. I'm on the 6.15 flight, I don't know what the flight number is, I've just booked today.
  12. Three midweek away games at Charlton, Chelsea and Spurs. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into this to make it is inconvenient as possible for people who want to go to all the matches.
  13. Bit of a cheek? I think that's putting it mildy, I would call it downright hypocrisy. Playing on the anniversary is ok if it helps their European campaign but now they are out of Europe they want the match moving again. Grrr.
  14. Great stuff! Even the "fixed" semi final draw couldn't ensure the "dream final", lets hope it's the nightmare final!
  15. West Ham are charging their own fans three different prices depending on whether they are season ticket holders, members or neither, so it looks like Rovers fans are just being charged the same.
  16. Same here, unlike the bloody annoying girl who sits near me who spent the whole game talking about him saying she hoped he would come on and score ten then actually cried at the end. FFS!
  17. I don't think this is harsh at all. If I had a accident which left me unable to do my job then I'm damn sure my employers wouldn't carry on paying me for three years! If Hughes felt Matty had anything to offer he would have given him a chance but you can hardly drop a player who desrves his place in the team/squad to give Matty an opportunity, you have to pick the players on merit. I really like Matty, I just wish he had never got on that bloody moped but I'm sure he must think that every day.
  18. I thought that goal was good when I saw it this afternoon from behind the goal but it looked even better on MOTD.
  19. Please can someone confirm that Lawro has just said that we were playing really well when Todd was sent off. Did he really say that? Surely not!
  20. I can't believe it, we are actually getting some praise! The MOTD commentator has just described the match as thoroughly entertaining and described some of our football as breathtaking. The Sky commentator was also full of praise for us saying that if it had been Chelsea playing like this everyone would be raving about the performance. I think I must be dreaming!
  21. I rang the away travel office on Monday morning, I don't want to miss out!
