  1. I'm off to watch the Cult tonight at the Kentish Town Forum, then on Tuesday at the 100 Club. Should be good - especially the 100 Club gig. I'm be enjoying a bit of this:

  3. Astronomy For Dogs - the debut album by "The Aliens" is a real listen. Best new album of the year so far. Also been listening to "Maggot Brain" by Funkadelic - gonna have to check more stuff my these and Parliament!

  5. I think it'll be interesting to keep an eye on the European Football Statistics website this season. If you look at the figures so far at: 2006/2007 Season You'll see that after 6 games our attendance as improved by 4.3%. I'm not 100% sure if this is compared to the first 6 games of last season, or the the entire 05/06 season. Of course we've had a couple of "big" teams at Ewood, so the figures may be up because of the United etc game. We'll have to see what the percentage is at the close of the season. Newcastle, Man City, Boro, Bolton and Wigan all all down on last season, whilst (predictably) the newly promoted teams, Arsenal and United have grown. PS we haven't had one 3pm saturday kick off have we at Ewood this season, have we? I sure this doesn't help.
  6. Anyone heard "The Happy Song" by the Aliens? Very catchy. It's the second single by three ex-Beta Banders. I'm also chuffed that Cud have re-surfaced. I'm abit miffed I misssed them play live last week because of holidays. Their new "best of" compilation is good though. Got some rare stuff on as well as some un-released tunes. I've got my fingers crosed that they'll re-release "When in Rome, Kill Me". I've got a worn out tape copy, and the CD version goes for big money on ebay. I cud (get it?) do with a newer version!
  7. Sometimes I've dreamt that I'm reading some meaningless drivel, which just endlessly repeats itself, going round and round in circles - I then realise that I've clicked on the latest transfer thread on the main board. It's a scary place!
  8. I've just finished the new Jasper Ffrorde book, "The Fourth Bear" - genius!!! It's the second book starring Jack Sprat and Mary Mary of the Nursery Crime Division. ("The Big Over Easy" being the first). The series is kind of a spin off from his Thursday Next novels (brilliant). If you like your books a bit surreal then check them out!
  9. There should be something like: FM Fan - football fans who play too much Football Manager and let it effect their views and opions in the real world. Reading the transfer threads on this forum I would say that there are a lot of them about!
  10. I seem to remember Owen diving in the last world cup to get England a penalty in an important game - no?
  11. This made me laugh. Does include a swear word, so don't look if offended by this type of thing. http://www.fansfocus.com/forum/uploads/857...rypriceless.jpg
  12. I've only played snooker a few times, and I never been very good (no good at Pool either. Though I do seem to get better once I have a few pints in me!). I love watching the snooker though. I don't find it boring at all - don't knoe why? - It just totally relaxes me. After seeing bits of the two "champions" league football games this week, I know which I'd rather watch! Come on Ronnie!!!!
  13. Fantastic result. The first half was very poor. We seemed to have more about us, but we just kept giving the ball away. Gray was particularly bad, he just seemed to either pass to the wrong side or just hoofed it out of play. At HT I was preparing myself for another drab 45 mins of footie, and I was nearly right... The two subs that Hughes made were inspirational. Kuqi scoring after just being on the pitch for 2 mins - good pass from Bellemy(?), and then a wonder goal from Thomo. (How good was that goal? - just seen it on TV this morning and it's a screamer!). At this point I deffo thought that Extra time was on the cards. Wrong again. I think one of the Charlton defenders was trying to pass the ball back to their keeper, we intercepted it, MGP passed to Bentley who scored and then jumped into the crowd! Magic! One of the best games I've been to in a long time - simply for that last 15 mins. Just hope we don't get drawn against Arsenal at Highbury for the next round.
  14. Maybe we could have a poll to see how many people on here are planning on staying away/going?
