  1. If he wants to stay I think they should keep him. It was a massive task and he gave us a real fighting chance.
  2. Results should matter most not the style especially when you are fighting relegation. Don't care if the goals go off someone's backside into the net after a goaline scuffle as long as they get the three points.
  3. Gone the proven route once again (experience of promotion) after some inexperienced appointments and that still exactly worked out... Good luck to him, he is going to need it.
  4. GGG's chin must be made of granite, he deliberately puts himself in harms way at times because he knows he can take it but then it also opens opportunities for him to use his ridiculous power. No wonder hardly anyone in the division wants to face him.
  5. Saw Jason Bourne last night, really enjoyed it and I probably was always going to as I am a huge Bourne fan. It probably doesn't hit the heights of the previous trilogy but that was always going to be difficult as that trilogy is just so good and not many action films hit the heights that those three did. Still I thought as an action film, one where you just sit back and be entertained it was very good. Criticisms seem to be about Bourne not saying much, have these people never seen Bourne films before? If you are a fan of the Bourne films it's worth watching.
  6. One of the greatest boxers of all time during what what was considered by many to be the golden era of heavyweight boxing but he was much more than that. He became a true icon especially culturally during the turbulent times of civil rights in America in the 60's and the Vietnam war years (which robbed him three years of his boxing prime).
  7. You can't take them seriously as all managers come out with the same sort of spiel during their first interviews. Results on the pitch are most important.
  8. Yep, I personally think it's way better than the film version.
  9. Gomorrah on Sky Atlantic is bloody (pun intended) good. A series about the bloody struggle in Naples between the various factions in the Camorra. Almost at the end of Season 2 but worth catching up on if you don't mind subtitles and are interested in mafia type programmes.
  10. Loving Doom so far, haven't played the multi (which I've heard aint that great) yet but the single player is really good, Doing a level a night which feels like a good pace to play it at. Also getting into Elite Dangerous a bit on the Xbox One, recent ai buff has caused some controversy in the community though. Blood and Wine the final DLC for the Witcher 3 is out, will be downloading that at some point soon. Might start a whole new play-through first, man it's a fantastic game.
  11. Just finished the Witcher 3, what a game! I put in over 150 hours and still left some side quests and Witcher Contracts for when I next do another play-through.
  12. A little bit buggy (nothing compared to previous Bethesda games) but Fallout 4 is a lot of fun. Anyone else playing Fallout 4?
  13. Whatever you think is the real cause for 2 wins in 13 I think it should be pretty unanimous that this team is in real trouble. Looking at the 5 next five games: @ Leeds - 29th Oct @ Brum - 3rd Nov Brentford - 7th Nov @ Preston - 21st Nov Sheff Wed - 28th Nov Leeds is the only game I would be confident in winning because of all the turmoil they are going through but away games are not a gimme. Brum are around the promotion places and Brentford and Sheff Wed are mid-table so they are in and around where we are. Preston away could be tough, another derby game and form can matter little in those types of games. Rovers have to find a way to pick up some wins in those next 5 games before the hectic Christmas period when games come thick and fast.
  14. It would help if you had, but I don't think it's a must. I played Borderlands 2 and the pre-sequel but never Borderlands 1. There will be a few references you might not get, some of the characters that turn up were in some of the other games but some of the dialogue actually explores that a bit. I think yes you could play it and enjoy it without knowing a lot about the Borderlands lore.
  15. Just finished Tales from the Borderlands, a really awesome game overall and an excellent end to the first season. I really hope they do a season 2, by far the best Telltale game I have played to date.
  16. I love Sci-Fi and have the Star Wars films on DVD but I never got all the love that Star Wars gets. I think I would probably had felt differently If I had been around when they came out, you read all the time about the cultural impact when the films came out and the buzz at the time. There wasn't really anything like it when it came out. But that trailer sure does look good. Abrams did a good job of bringing Star Trek back to the big screen, he should do a good job with Star Wars.
  17. Sad news. Before my time when he made his contribution to Rovers both as a player and a manager (but I did hear from relatives how good he was at Rovers and the contribution he made), I did however remember some of his spell at Everton. RIP Howard Kendall
  18. Still early but Rovers are stuck in a rut right now. Still think we will hover around mid-table, but a few more bad results and I may have to reconsider my prediction.
  19. His playing days were well before my time but I knew of his achievements as a player and that he was regarded as one of the greatest captains Australia ever had. For me watching Cricket as i was growing up he was simply the voice of cricket. RIP Richie
  20. Is it just me that thinks this is an incredible bad and dangerous thing? I remember the last time we had a manager who had a direct line to Pune...
  21. I agree you can't. But whoever the spin bowler is going to be they will have this looming pressure over them until you find someone competent enough, look how many spinners they have tested and discarded since Warne retired. If they think Lyon is the answer they need to find a way to ease the pressure off a bit and give the player the time and tools to improve.
  22. He's a really good bowler, thought he looked impressive back in 2009 and he looks even better now. He's one of those bowlers who looks like he really enjoys bowling, enjoys the challenge and he is a real workhorse. 166 wickets at 28.15 is very good. The Aussie bowling attack looks good and has the potential to get better as they are still pretty young. The only question mark would be the spinner, I'm not sure Lyon is the long term answer. Whoever the spin option is they have humongous boots to fill, when you had in my opinion the greatest bowler of all time it's not going to be easy to fill that void.
  23. Better start doing a rain dance methinks. I think most cricket fans would admit It would make an interesting final two tests if Australia could win this. On the balance of play they deserve to really.
