  1. Yes, but we clearly needed at least one more striker. That was widely acknowledged last Summer, and that’s why Telalovic was signed at the death.
  2. Signed as a result of Broughton being in a state of complete panic on transfer deadline day because we still hadn't signed a striker.
  3. Apologies, I stand corrected, (but they are b*ggered anyway). Will that help us on Saturday? It should, but we are our own worst enemy.
  4. Yes, three including this evening. To have any chance they need to win all three, including this one.
  5. Exactly. Makes no sense to rest players this evening other than for fatigue .
  6. Be too busy sorting another club for next season or enjoying a nice holiday then.
  7. I think it’s too farcical to be suspicious. That clip will entertain people around the Globe. I think he just went into a complete panic and froze. Impressive spin he got on the ball. Nathan Lyon would’ve been happy with it.
  8. Exactly. Even we looked good against Newcastle, but the circumstances are completely different. I think a lot will depend on how Coventry get on in midweek. If they win, they still have an outside shot of the Play Offs. We could do with Hull popping their balloon.
  9. It was a shocking performance and result yesterday, but I would argue that next Saturday's game is potentially 'easier', because the opposition may have nothing to play for, (depending on their midweek result). Wednesday were always going to come out and scrap. It will be what our players make it, and we need the spirit of Leeds away, rather than the standard home garbage.
  10. What he said last week was to cover his arse with the supporters. The subtext was “I’ve advised the owners to spend money”. Does Broughton have any clout? No.
  11. That is certainly worse than I had thought, but they are 8th in the form table over the last six away games. Wednesday have done well to even still be in with a realistic shout of staying up when you consider the start they had. It should be a really interesting watch (although only on replay for me because of work).
  12. It's a loooong time since we stuffed anyone at home, but it should help if Wednesday come out to chase the win, rather than parking the bus.
  13. Indeed, and we now have Mr Broughton suddenly finding his voice and covering his backside with the supporters by saying (reading between the lines) I've done my bit and told the board / owners they need to invest. Will they listen / will such investment actually be possible ? Probably not.
  14. Wednesday maybe 2nd bottom, but their current form isn't and they are fighting relegation very hard. As for what happens now being an indicator for next season, Barnsley got to the Play Offs a few seasons ago, then got relegated the following season. What happens in terms of player loss and recruitment will shape next season. Yes, we obviously want to win, but a draw will suffice for the bigger picture.
  15. To paraphrase Alan Partridge, stop getting pessimism wrong 😉
  16. Our home record is dismal, though we have proved we can grind out a draw. That would do.
  17. Davros would be a better looking CEO than Waggott 😉
  18. Well, yes, the shitshow will continue, but at least (hopefully) with the standing of a club in the upper echelons of English football. Who knows, maybe Dr Who can form a consortium with Davros and the Master 😉
  19. I think some of the flak has been completely OTT and disproportionate. Without doubt, the fact that he’s not JDT (I think some have a shrine in their spare bedroom, complete with life size manikin), and that Waggott (reportedly) recruited him have influenced thinking. If we’d been hopeless it would be justified, but on the whole he’s steadied the ship and we’ve been competitive in most games. The one criticism is his win percentage, but even that is on an upward trajectory of late. People talk about him not having the baggage that JDT did, but he’s had to come in and work with what was already here. IF he keeps us up, he’s achieved his goal, and then we all wait and see what happens in the Summer.
  20. I’d hesitate to go that far just yet. A few of the teams beneath us have winnable fixtures next Saturday. Undoubtedly, our position now looks a good deal healthier.
  21. You are probably right. What a difference 65 hours makes! The thing is, most of our recent games have been very tight, and in that respect the Sunderland win and Bristol City loss were both odd. An absolutely fantastic result today, under extreme pressure. Hopefully, a defining moment.
  22. Eustace has managed to get two of his own backroom team through the door, and I'd wager he had to fight for that. I'm not sure that lines up with him being a "yes" man. He hasn't , to date, made any comment about Venky's, and has basically said he's just getting on with the job and avoiding the politics. He's been pragmatic, rather than spectacular, but even the likes of Pep and Klopp would have to go down that route here. There are signs that he and his coaching staff have ideas and methods to improve players individually, and more of a threat from set pieces.
