  1. Anyone stop to think that McGuire’s agent tried to play SW and Rovers off against each other? Failed. Turned to BRFC to take his client.
  2. Did anyone else go down to West Ham for the cup game that finished 3-3? This guy scored all three goals that day. Yes, I was there. Went down on the coach. We picked up a bunch of Burnley fans and dropped them off at WHL, as they were playing Spurs. Returned for them after the match. Great game. Remember Douglas got injured and limped around on the wing as there were no subs allowed back then. I did! Great day especially as my flatmate was a West Ham fan! Some nasty stuff in the crowd that day,Hammers fans not exactly saints. I remember bottles flying behind the goal as rival fans clashed. Police jumped in and formed a big circle and separated the two groups.
  3. I thought that fans, many on this message board, wanted an end to time wasting. It was a constant moan on here last season. Hope that the new initiative works.
  4. Fantastic win last night. Only match of Rovers I’m able to see since the Wigan game was cancelled. Happy to leave for Canada after that. Great goal from Pele…er…Hyam. Hedges was MOM for me.
  5. Was at the Spurs game with a friend and took a couple of pics of ex Rovers…Tom Cairney and Shane Duffy for Fulham bench and Tosin A. Starting.
  6. I was with a friend at the Spurs game yesterday and wondered whether Spurs had offered BBD a street to be named after him if he signed…😉
  7. Richie Lareya is available as a RWB/RB on loan from Forest. Never given a chance with Forest and is a very experienced player. An integral part of the exciting Canadian WC team.
  8. Alan Bradshaw kept his amateur status. He played for Rovers in the mid-60’s. He taught at Shadsworth and coached their football teams. He was a popular coach of the very successful Town Team that won the Lancashire championship in 1967.
  9. Jack Wilshere is still available and I hope that he’ll be a free agent signing after the window closes.
  10. Jack Wilshire on a pay as you play contract with options for next year. Premier league potential of Rovers should be inducement enough to bring him North. Just the kind of experience the team needs at the moment.
  11. Richie Lareya from Toronto FC would have been a great solution for Rovers. Just been sold to Forest for $1 million. Mentioned him last year. We shall see how he works out.
  12. Merry Christmas to one and all. Be safe and let’s hope that we all have a better 2022.
  13. Don’t tell Mowbray that we’re in 6th place as it usually heralds a dire run of results and his usual “journey” remarks.
  14. Just banged home his first for Southampton. Well taken.
  15. If it’s a payout that TM is after then let’s give him Brereton or Gallagher and tell him to flog them. He bought them. He can see the true value in them. Let’s shake on that, Tony.
  16. Health, wealth and happiness in 2021 to all. Happy New Year!!
  17. Merry Christmas to Fans of the Rovers all over the world. Southern Ontario is bracing for lots of snow Christmas Eve, so Santa should be able to bring guaranteed promotion, no problem...😎
  18. A good win and three points moves Rovers back in contention and shows that they are capable of a big points return over the Christmas period. Top six here we come...oh come all ye faithful to Ewood! 1-3 to the Rovers.
  19. There are many very talented players in the MLS. They are affordable and more than capable of playing in the Championship. Richie Laryea of TFC would easily start at LB for Rovers. He has speed, defends well and scores the odd goal.
  20. RIP Stuart. As a schoolboy, played both with and against Meccy. I remember stopping by his house in Mill Hill to find him kicking a tennis ball against the stone wall on the cobblestones of their back ginnel. That’s how you mastered ball control, old school. Remember him showing us his new boots paid for by the Rovers, for whom he had just signed. He had picked them up in Manchester. We were in awe. His sister, Christine, was the last girl that I dated before leaving for Canada. We all gathered at the Lions Dance Club on Saturday evenings. A good lad, Stuart.
