  1. They did for me but only because I pulled them up on it. Maybe others would have paid full price. It’s one thing reducing prices and not changing the tabs, but increasing prices and leaving the labels on at the reduced price is something else.
  2. Went into the shop before the game earlier with my lad. He picked out some of last season’s yellow shorts. All last season’s stock is marked at half price. Went to the till to be told they’d put all the prices back to full price (why???). I asked why they haven’t changed the pricing on the labels (showing as half price) and they said they hadn’t got round to it. Surely that’s the first thing you do when increasing prices! After speaking with the manager she agreed we could have them at half price. The lad behind the till proceeded to add 50% on, rather than take it off. I had to explain a couple of times that they should be £11, not £33 (full price they were £22). What a shambles. No idea why they think it’s a good idea to put last season’s stock back to full price.
  3. Thanks! Sorted it a while back as he’d been going on about attending an away game. He’s dead excited but deep down I am a bit nervous he might see us get hammered!
  4. My 6 year old's first away game and my first away game for a good few years. Was impressed by the ticket prices and it looks like a nice ground to visit. Quite an easy journey on the train from Oxenholme too. Not holding out much hope for a result, but they've drawn 2 and lost of 1 from their last 3 games, so there's no reason (in theory) why we can't get a result. Would be happy with another draw but can easily see another limp away performance and a 2/3-0 defeat. Here's hoping I'm wrong.
  5. Looking at the fixture list I’m guessing it would get moved to the w/c 03/04 possibly? Although it’s Easter weekend after so games on the following Friday. Apart from that the only free midweeks look to be right towards the end of the season.
  6. My lad is 6.5 and slightly tall for his age. I've got him size 9-10 this season and the fit is just about right, maybe slightly on the big side. But a size 7-8 I've no doubt would have been too small. So I'd recommend going a size up based on my experience.
  7. No it hasn’t but it’s made me think twice about getting the train. Or at least wearing our colours. As I say it didn’t seem to register with my lad but on another day it could have put him off football for good. Thankfully they play this coming Friday night so hopefully a bit more of a quiet journey on Saturday for Bristol City game. It’s made me think twice about getting a ticket for the Turf Moor match, depending on what the travel arrangements are.
  8. Yes I’ll definitely check who they’re playing when getting the train in future. They’d just won 5-1, why not celebrate that rather than picking out a man and his son to chuck abuse at.
  9. Long time viewer but don’t really post very much. However thought I’d share my experience today. Me and my 6 year are season ticket holders and often travel to the games by train (from Oxenholme). To be honest I hadn’t clocked until yesterday that Burnley were at Wigan. So we get to Preston and hoards of Burnley fans are waiting to get on. We’ve both got our Rovers shirts on so expecting some ‘banter’. Probably a good hundred fans chanting the w word at me. Oh and songs about Jack Walker. Anyway my lad didn’t really clock and assumed it was just rowdy football fans. However the train back was a different story. Waiting at platform 3 at Preston and the Burnley fans are across on platform 2. Some more chanting, and then their train is moved onto our platform. So me and my lad end up with dozens of Burnley fans screaming in our faces about all sorts. Luckily some staff saw what was happening and took us to one side away from it all. Oh and some more songs about Jack Walker. To be fair a couple of their fans came over and apologised for what was happening. I’m not from Blackburn so maybe I don’t quite understand the rivalry as a lot of you do. But surely if you see a Burnley fan with his 6 year old son you wouldn’t think screaming in their faces was acceptable? Some of these were fully grown men as well who probably have kids of their own. I know every fanbase have their idiots but surely they must have more than most? It definitely wasn’t a minority. Maybe I’m just being a bit of a snowflake. If it was me on my own I wouldn’t have thought too much about it. Luckily my boy didn’t seem too phased by it. Either that or he’s stronger mentally than I realise!
  10. Looking for some advice - not season tickets related but match tickets related. I'm trying to buy 2 match tickets for the QPR game - 1 adult & 1 under 12 ticket. When I go to my basket, the under 12 ticket is assigned to me, so it brings up an error message. I've managed to change to name to my son's name, but I still receive an error message as it's telling me I need to input his date of birth on his account - but he hasn't got an account set up. And when I try and set up an account for him, it won't let me do it as I'm trying to use the same email address as mine. Not sure if something has changed as I didn't have this issue last season. Has anyone encountered this and am I just being a bit slow?
  11. Yeah I think you’re right. From memory it was £15 and you got either 10% or £3 off match day tickets. Can’t remember exactly which one it was. For someone like me who attends say 10 games a season it made sense. More than paid for itself through the match day ticket discounts and there were the other benefits too.
  12. Honestly I’m not sure but I’d definitely be more tempted than I am currently. Even though it’s only £30. Which is all the more frustrating. Just seems completely pointless but at the same time it might be put off potential new season ticket holders like myself.
  13. I emailed the club earlier to see if I could get a season ticket at the frozen prices - I'm not an existing season ticket holder but still regularly attend. No joy but they did mention that the 1875 Membership is going to be reintroduced in the coming weeks. From memory this was a one-off fee of £15 which gave you matchday ticket discounts as well as some other benefits. So once the matchday ticket prices are released, I'll make a calculated decision on what my best option is. Realistically I might only attend 15 games max so I wouldn't really get the value of a season ticket based on the current prices.
  14. Seems I’m in a similar boat to others. Was weighing up getting a season ticket for me and my lad, but the £30 surcharge is putting me off. I’m 33 and have probably had a season ticket for around 15 years of my life (not had one for a few years). Still been going to 5-10 games a season and buy bits from the club shop. All in all I’m hardly a ‘new’ customer. Add in that due to my lad being 6 we’d probably miss 5 games a season (weeknights during term time), and I’m not sure it’s worth it. We’d definitely still go to matches but it’s much easier to give it a miss when you don’t have a season ticket. All being said, I am excited about the new season so there’s a good chance I’ll still go through with it. I’m going to ring up on Monday to see if there is any wiggle room in avoiding the extra £30 (yes I am a tight arse as well).
  15. If Rovers sort the ticket prices out they'll have me and my lad signed up. He's just turned 6 and getting into it. We went to a few games last season and I was ready to get us season tickets. But as a 'new' season ticket holder, it would cost us the best part of £500 in the family stand. Add in that we'd struggle with the midweek games due to his age and being around 50 miles away, it doesn't seem worth it. Such a shame, but we'll still attend a few games regardless.
