  1. He certainly looked that way at first but the bigger picture over the longer term says he probably isn't, he should be but just isn't consistent enough. You need basic fundamentals and consistent from your centre halves and captain over anything else and i'm not saying Lenihen was that but i think we've missed his no nonsense attitude at times. Slightly different in style but not much between the two of them overall imo.
  2. I'm pretty certain restricting Bumley to just 2k last season went a fair way to helping us not get hammered. Yes we lost to a worldie strike but for the most part we matched them and they weren't kicking into thousands of fans roaring them on. It was like there were no away fans there. Anyway it's done now but as far as i'm concerned it sends out the wrong message and absolutely hands extra motivation to the visiting side which is plain stupid when stakes are so high.
  3. Phil that's nonsense pal i sit in the JW upper nearest BBE and i can assure you it isn't like the 80's. It's not really about a trade off with the singing as away fans particularly big city clubs always make a din when turning up in huge numbers. My issue is this team both this season and last has shown the nerves and conceded poor goals down that end with certain players visibly affected by it. Even last season Coventry to name another one, at times in the past its acted to spur on our players having a wall of contrasting noise at each end but the squad we run now i feel it can have the opposite effect. Forget the Newcastle game it was a nothing to lose cup tie but when the pressure is on at home we tend to buckle too often these days. Hopefully our lads are getting more used to it so know what to expect and all the nerves are in the Sheffield end as that can transmit to their team as well.
  4. They knew this was always going to be an important game weeks ago so weeks ago they could have said Sheff Wed 4.5k max and that's your lot. Home fans from database only, then everyone knew what's what. As said above giving them the whole end creates a massive 'got to be there' vibe and so more and more start trying to get tickets in the home sections or say they are turning up in town anyway regardless of no tickets. Roll out the away fan red carpet again and create a more encouraging atmosphere for them in a vital game, rank stupidity.
  5. More money straight through the football sieve into the pockets of parasites and average journeymen players. Wouldn't it be nice if some gave a bit back to fans in the way of subsidised season tickets to boost crowds and keep them away from being remote control supporters.
  6. I fully expect this season will be yet another step backwards and that is part of the reason a guy like Eustace was brought in to prep for weakening the team further and another season of fire fighting.
  7. Can't believe our midfield was built around Evans and Lowe for years it's no wonder we went nowhere then we finally get a good one and he's gone in no time. Meanwhile thank god for Tronstad !
  8. No chance at cat B prices but over 23k would be a fair shout if Sky hadn't ruined it again.
  9. We really better not switch off again in this one lets try and win it eh lads !
  10. Going to Stoke and winning 1 nil with a David Mail penalty after missing about 5 of the last 6 pens, in front of 3500 Rovers fans in a crowd of about 9500 ! Then off to Sett End...🙂 The youth of today are so stale.
  11. Why would a relegation fighting team owned by billionaires fly anywhere in midweek when they can spend 4hrs each way on a bus ? Not like they risk getting battered 5 nil or anything.....
  12. They need to put some beds in it for midweek away games.
  13. Despite the justified pelters on his day he's more than good enough so hopefully he's on it today.
  14. Parking prats are parking prats it doesn't matter the venue or function they'll do it anyway and it's probably mainly visiting fans. Get the clamps on them on they'll soon learn.
  15. Welcome to the world of a stepping stone club ! Although to be fair if they were all smiles laughs and jokes they'd be getting stick anyway.
  16. If there is any truth to the rumour they were trying to shift him in Jan perhaps that's why.
  17. Chuckle would put him on his arse before the PEDS kick in and he gets up to win.
  18. Steve is a happy lad now Weds have shifted all their tickets, no need to bother with anything more than 12k home fans and a few extra kids. 20k crowd guaranteed. At this rate there'll be another pay rise on the horizon.
  19. That was that era though and guys like Coyle are firmly stuck in it.
  20. I committed that sin and the only positive i took from it was he knows how much we detest him. Happy to point the finger elsewhere but left out a lot of details as to why all that was happening, ie Kean and Anderson who were actively looking to move players out with pay offs after they'd given them a year extension. All about percentages and Orr clearly speaks from that inner sanctum and he himself got rich from the clubs demise. Absolute ####
  21. You'd think that might have been taken into consideration in the upper corridors at Ewood especially seeing as recently they've been splitting bigger followings between the bottom corner and the top tier. They've reduced to Coventry tickets obviously but imo that's on the back of this one subsidising it and that is Waggot all over, rather pointless exercise. More brains in a pound of mince.
  22. They'll probably beat Stoke at home whilst we getting beat at Leeds so yes they will be well up for it in that case and we are just clinging to hope that the team that has let us down all season can actually show up. We both lose or draw this weekend then it's nerves all around. Whatever happens it's a stupid decision to let them pack out the end and hand more backing than necessary to their team and i can't think of another club in the land would do something so stupid.
  23. He's just treading the uber positive nice bloke line again we've seen so many times before and trying to keep everybody onside. If you can't call a spade a spade and take the players to task over that shower of excrement last night then you won't be going very far. Another modern player turned coach who is afraid to get tough.
  24. They'll say oh we can't do that but then can and have in the past when the club and local plod could be arsed. 4.5k would have been ample for Sheff Wed at normal price with the majority filling the upper tier that would have been the sensible thing to do. Didn't matter in the recent past our teams seemed to love it and it got them up for it but this lot have demonstrated it gives them the wobbles. 2 of the most nervous keepers iv'e ever seen, inexperienced kids and a few pros who are eyeing the door it's another recipe for disaster. I remain convinced some inside Ewood actually want relegation.
