The way SKY etc and some clubs have gone about it down the years it's as if they aren't bothered about a crowd in the stadium anyway.
Stupid kick off times, ticket prices even the bigger non Prem teams don't fill the ground for a lot of live games.
We've even said Venkys aren't bothered sometimes with the way they've ignored fans and had the attitude we can afford to do what we want.
Well now footballs chickens might be coming home to roost. All of a sudden fans are important.

Predicted we'll over pay for him in an undisclosed fee not long after he signed, i'll stick to that.
Worth a punt at sensible money and wages but that's unlikely to be the case although after all this i'm not sure we'll be affording anyone.

It does make one feel that it is deliberate. Nobody will keep doing the ‘wrong thing’ indefinitely.
Keep crowds low, keep expectations low, blame lack of supporter commitment, self-fulfilling “justification” of increasing prices, keep milking the faithful, keep taking a salary: “We’ve done everything we can”. ??♂️
The vacuum between here and the bill payers will always allow things to become very comfortable. No being called into the chairmans office on a Monday morning just make sure all your explanations are lined up for a mid summer meeting.
Yes there's a middleman keeping an eye on things but he looks to have the most comfortable number of the lot.

Love that goal, it was a more controlled version of Gazza's goal against Scotland at Euro 96.
Purely going off memory as iv'e never seen it back i don't think.

Duff away at Sheff Weds in a night game, think it was a cup match, think we won 3-1 under Hodgsons time. Might have been Duffs first Rovers goal, it was in the opposite end to us but i'm sure he flicked it over someones head then ran round and slotted in.

Was that in about 83? I was there and have tried to find it online but there mustn’t have been cameras there at all.
maybe mine would be either of the 2 volleys against Fulham with MGP getting the slight nod.
Yes it would be 82/83 i think we ended up losing 2-1 after Garner put us in front.
Same here iv'e ranted on about it but never been able to find it anywhere but it was surely on MOD or something.

My earliest of a great individual finish was Simon Garner v Liverpool in the FA cup at Ewood. Back to goal, close control and spun on a 5p as he often did to smash it home. To score a goal like that in a game like that v Liverpool who were dominating football was something else, or so i thought anyway.
Backed up my constant schoolday arguments that Garner was better than Rush ?
Damien Duff and Matty Jansen scored some pearlers as well but one or two of Shearers stand out not surprisingly. QPR thunderbolt from 30 yards that had the bar wobbling for 5 mins afterwards and the volley/half scissor kick v Saints into Bburn end wasn't bad either.

Watched it all now and it was good really enjoyed it although the inaccuracies do grate a bit. I've already had people ask why there's no 'Rovers', did they add that years later !!!!!!
Most non Rovers fans watching in wouldn't bat an eyelid though and the fact it should stick in the craw of plenty big club fans that footballs real origins are in Blackburn and Darwen is very nice.

Always check your sources, no wonder everything on here needs taking with a pinch of salt ?

Must've been some odd contract if they've let him go. Surely they haven't paid him off as part of some so called money saving exercise ?
-
Same as most big businesses they'll just ride out the storm they could well have more shares bought up in their own company whilst it's down. Then flog em again when it picks up, that should cover it.
As far as Rovers are concerned a fire sale is always an option, the bank OD looks to be getting rather stretched again.

So many parallels and had they not got rid of Kean i'd suggest we'd be where they are now only in worse shape. Bowyer shares some of the credit of keeping us out of that mess as well. If Singh had his way it would've ended up as bad as anything Kean had to offer just for slightly different reasons.

Some of those contradict the last table that was floated about but i think most of them won't be to far off the mark. Don't forget it won't include bonuses which i reckon will make up the money for a lot of lads to something quite eye watering.
Looking at Dack i reckon he'll be on more than that but then ago got to remember not long ago he was at Gills on maybe 3k tops. Also signed for only 750k so it's still a nice jump. Armstrong sounds about right the LT reported his contract as something similar when he signed after taking a pay cut from his reported near 20k at Newcastle.
The way TM does things though i'm not sure he'd have so much disparity in wages. Although iv'e always been a believer some of his rotating etc is designed to spread the appearance money around and give his squad a chance to make up their money. Understandable for harmony but not always good for results and consistency.

That’s not a dreadful idea but would other Summer sports suffer? E.g. Cricket.
Inevitable they would but the biggest issue would be the TV companies yet again. They can fill in with other stuff in summer between the footy season. Not sure what they'd show in winter.
-
Football season could become March to Dec. Not sure how i'd feel about that there's pro's & con's but which would outweigh the other ?
-
It's just going to put too much pressure on next season and ruin that for a start. Injuries, fatigue etc. Clubs being stuck with loads of players they don't want or need because they've had to extend contracts instead of natural pruning or freeing up space for youngsters etc.
In the middle the agents doing the extensions and players who thought they'd be dropping leagues and wages rubbing their hands.
If they aren't going to null and void it they need to come up with something better than cramming loads of games together in summer. Maybe conclude this season Sept to Dec then a short break then a mini season. Everyone plays each other just once but cut down on the promo / relegation spots. One in one out or something.
A ballache yes but something will have to be done otherwise we are heading for full years calenders and summer football every year until it evens itself out. A lot won't like it but should just swallow it temporarily.

It just isn't going to work any of this.

The clowns involved in all levels of football never cease to amaze, the clowns who have millions to waste on it are even worse. Just how do some of these put one foot in front of the other never mind end up loaded.

Although I appreciate your desperate attempt to get back watching football,I’m afraid that’s a non starter. You have to pass people by inches getting to your seat. The queues for the toilets/food would be horrendous. Also, leaving the ground at full time would take forever if you keep to social distancing.
It wasn't an entirely serious proposition.

Walker was a tax avoider - the worst kind of greedy capitalist because the tax he avoided paying would have helped to make the lives better of those who worked for him.
Bill Shankly would have despised Walker.
He did in 1992-1995

Ban visiting fans and at Ewood as long as you could arrange social distancing on entry and exit, concourse and toilets it wouldn't really be a problem in the seats.
10 thousand spread around 31k !
-
That would be massive but its probably fantasy stuff as those with constant money available would just try and gazump on wages for the better players again. This kind of thing starting almost from scratch might suit our lot but you can be cast iron assured they'd mess it up and still only go and overpay players presented to them by the usual 'advisers'.
Something really does need to be done about championship wages though they are ridiculous although obviously still way behind the Premier ones. Clue is in the title though.
As for the agents and advisers, they need side lining altogether at this level if there's to be a radical overhaul. Also it would really need owners writing off debts !
-
They already did 'Why's everyone picking on us when xyz are doing similar' .
Failing to grasp the irony of being one of the richest clubs obviously.
-
Basically been embarrassed into a U turn mainly by their own ex players the normally Liverpool loving media and a lot of their fanbase.
Fair play on finally seeing sense but credit for it ? No chance it wasn't their favoured method they tried it on and would've gone with it if they could.
