  1. And that's Muric to my ears 😁. A reported £18m for Trafford and an undisclosed fee for Muric. If you melted them together in a pot you wouldn't get a good 'un. Kompany had his pants pulled down by City.
  2. Well done to WATR for winning the award. It's them that get the credit for a terrific initiative which showed the club the potential we have and gave lots of kids the chance to go. Hopefully there will be other initiatives in the future which can engage potential supporters. Congratulations to Sammy Szmodics for his prestigious achievement. His road to this point was difficult and he has done the hard yards to get here. The silver lining in a season of clouds.
  3. Adam Wharton was really good again today in their win at Anfield. It seems like he has added another dimension to his game with some diligent defensive work to go with his undoubted attacking flair.
  4. Just looking ahead to the weekends fixtures I would be really nervous if I was a Plymouth fan. They have a huge game at Stoke and if they lose and the teams around them win (on paper all winnable games) they will be outside the bottom three on goal difference. They then have Millwall away and Hull at home. However if Plymouth win Stoke could tumble. Squeaky bum time.
  5. I would say that speed off the mark is one of the most important assets of a striker. I agree about his decision making and that is a frustrating aspect of his game. In a high press he is our most important player.
  6. Just watching MOTD and just as the dingles could be heard singing 'we won the league at Ewood' Muric does a step over and costs them two points 😂😂. And Bellamy says it not his mistake but their mistake for asking his to play like that. Hilarious 😂😂
  7. And we loved it 😇. The boot has been on the other foot plenty of times so I understand the anger of the Leeds fans but as for sympathy? No chance.
  8. Szmodics tapped one of the spare balls onto the pitch late in the second half as Meslier was about to place the match ball for a goal kick. Not massive in the scheme of things but important to us. In truth I found it really surprising that there was only one minute extra played at the end of the first half. We were at it from minute one 😁😁.
  9. So now Szmodics lacks pace along with Dolan.
  10. How when he kept up with the Leeds defenders and Szmodics.
  11. His legs move fast but his body doesn't - I don't get that. He has shown pace on numerous occasions like yesterday when he sprinted the full half of the pitch when Szmodics went through. His run actually occupied another defender and allowed Szmodics to get his shot away.
  12. I have read several times about his lack of pace but I don't see that. His decision making at times is questionable but yesterday he was a real team player and disciplined in pretty much everything he did.
  13. I still have some adrenalin running through me this morning after yesterday and pretty much everything has been written about the great win but yesterday the Rovers fans were terrific. I saw lots of Rovers fans at Leeds who I had seen only two days before at Bristol but still they turn up such is their devotion. Apart from Marching on Together pre match I hardly heard the Leeds supporters and Eustace and the players deserve credit for that but Rovers fans were at it for the duration. Even the M62 being a car park and having to come home on the back roads couldn't spoil our day 😂😂.
  14. I saw it too. Deary me it's a bowler from the referee. I wonder who she supports ? 😂😂
  15. Being a Rovers fan should absolutely come with a health warning. From the despair of Wednesday to the euphoria of today. And I'm delighted to eat a huge slice of humble pie after decrying the five at the back in the days before today. And if I read the game plan correctly it worked really well. We defended our own box pretty much for the entirety of the first half and allowed Leeds plenty of the ball and really the only threat I thought was from set pieces. I overheard some Leeds fans across from the ground talking disparagingly about our defeat on Wednesday and it occurred to me that they thought today was a foregone conclusion. An early goal they said and Blackburn would crumble. As we approached half time I noticed some murmuring from the Leeds fans and a nervousness. We played our three strikers further up in the second half and Eustace did a number tactically on Farke. The Leeds players looked slightly confused when we did this as they couldn't get forward as much. The goal was incredible not from a quality point of view (it was a really good goal though) but from the press and quick forward play. Could we hang on? The clock seemed to be going backwards most of the last twenty minutes but we got over the line, we did it against all odds and the relief was palpable. I particularly liked the time consuming by us today which really added to Leeds frustrations. I actually predicated that Pears would get booked after the 85th minute for time wasting but by then the horse had bolted. We aren't completely safe yet but I feel hugely more comfortable than I did on the drive home from Bristol and the following couple of days. My granddaughter and a friend who came with us actually both predicted a win. I was worried about their sanity when they said that but now after the last few days I'm questioning my own 😃😃
  16. You were right Gav (although your draw prediction was a bit awry). 😂😂
  17. 1700 Rovers fans going to Leeds today. Great effort and probably the one constant of recent times.
  18. I actually predicted a win at Sunderland Gav based on not much more than a gut feeling. Today feels different somehow however I will concede that my judgement could well be impaired by the Bristol debacle. Confidence took a real hammering on Wednesday and the things we have done well under Eustace like being solid just evaporated. I sincerely hope I'm congratulating you tonight on your accurate prediction and will be delighted to be wrong 😁.
  19. I'm really desperate and after checking the weather forecast for Leeds it has changed to an 80% chance of rain between 1 and 3 pm and in my view the wetter the pitch the higher the tempo Leeds will play at. I can normally find some little thing to give me hope before any game but today I can't - even the weather Gods are conspiring against us.
  20. It does still fit actually but I would have to get around the pitch with a motorised scooter 😃😃
  21. After the shit show that we are experiencing with our seniors it was really enjoyable to see a committed and aggressive performance from our under 21's. Igor Tyjon will get the plaudits for his two goals, the second which was terrific but for me Isaac Whitehall was the stand out player. Playing in the middle of a three he won everything in the air, tackled like his life depended on it and played when the opportunity arose. I also thought Adam Caddick looked promising. Interestingly Batty was taken off and stormed down the tunnel. Perhaps that's an example of why he can't get close to the first team. For lots of young Rovers players it's coming up to decision time and I expect quite a few to be released. Hopefully they get fixed up and go on to have successful careers.
  22. When you think how much money they made from cup runs and promotion the punishment doesn't actually for the crime. It's almost akin to playing an unregistered player as in theory he doesn't belong to them.
  23. This should really be in the Leeds thread but I don't know how to do it 😃. I have written to Waggott and sent him the link advising him that Saturday's referee is a confirmed Sheffield Wednesday fan. I got an email back thanking me and saying he has forwarded my email to the Secretarial Department. Leadership eh?
