The Italian was therefore late and there was clear contact on Mudryk not on the ball. What is really surprising is that according to the reports it wasn't reviewed.

John McNamee, Graham Hawkins, Micky Speight, Ken Knighton, Glenn Keeley, Faz, Ryan Nelsen, Alan Shearer and Craig Short were tough players and immediately spring to mind. The game has moved on immeasurably since some of them played and the real tough guys are pretty much a dying breed. I can't think of one modern day player who I would categorise as a hard man.

There is also a designated away fans pub a few minutes walk from the train station from where they run buses to the ground. I used the bus service a few seasons back and it was pretty much full of lairy, boozed up (or whatever) adolescents giving it the big 'un. I had my granddaughter with me but the saving grace was that several police rode on the bus with us.

This is probably the most novel way of providing per match drinks and food particularly given the dearth of pubs around the ground. I have passed it several times in match days and it is busy and seems welcoming. If you park on Campbell Road it's a 10-15 minute walk and then 5 minutes to the ground.

Everton have said they are to appeal so if the authorities are true to form they have gone in hard and will be prepared to compromise. I haven't seen any mention of a fine yet.

The Brighton move in the summer fell through.

Cirino hasn't played this season to the best of my knowledge. I wouldn't last the concession of so many goals at the door of the centre halves to be fair. Mistakes and carelessness all over the pitch have put us on the back foot far too many times. Atcheson is only 17 and strictly speaking should still be with the under 18's and he didn't play last night. Last night we had a 15, 16 and two 17 year olds playing so patience is required. I'm not certain of the ages of some of the others but it wouldn't surprise me if a few more were of a similar age.

Another defeat for our youngsters who in many ways were the architects of their own downfall. Too many unenforced errors gave PSV plenty of chances although I didn't really think they were much better than us. I thought Batty looked better in a midfield role and had some good moments alongside some others who were decent. Unfortunately these were outnumbered by players who never got anywhere near their normal standards. In mitigation we fielded a really young team and hopefully the younger ones in the group will have learnt something by playing against better players than they are used to.

Can I ask why my reply to the North End fan was deleted when I was within my rights to respond to his accusation of racism. If it was because I called him a p**** fair enough but if not that is out of order when I reacted to his nasty, completely untrue post.

I have a series of emails between myself and Waggott on the very subject of a reciprocal agreement with Leeds. I suggested giving travelling Rovers fans a discount so he can still charge Leeds fans full price and whilst he didn't say no outright reading between the lines he won't. The quote below from one of his replies says my proposal doesn't take into account Rovers fans who don't go to away games and will have to pay the same as Leeds fans. And then he does exactly that (unless he comes up with a package). Not against reciprocal agreements at all as I was one of the Twenty Plenty campaign many years ago !! I will work alongside any club to maintain a sensible ticket price so let's see how things develop with Championship clubs this season. Your proposal is interesting but by giving travelling fans discount at Leeds does not address those home supporters who do not / cannot attend away games and who will have to pay the same price as the Leeds supporters. You get what you pay for and quality doesn't come cheap. Both Ennis and Telalavic were both gambles which may yet pay off.

The problem is that type of player costs money and we don't have any. I really don't think we could have signed a player who could get straight into the team for the reputed £200k they both cost us.

The numbers were always going to be down this season after losing Blackpool, Wigan and that lot down the road. In the eight away matches so far we have played at Plymouth, Ipswich, QPR, Millwall (night match), Watford (noon), Norwich (noon) and Coventry in a night match. Our nearest game was the 160 mile round trip to Rotherham. Anybody who has been to all/most of them would be getting much change out of £1k.

Although we didn't play well we should have won given the number of presentable chances we missed (sounds familiar doesn't it) including a penalty miss by Gilsenan. Although Leonard scored an earlier penalty he should have scored a couple more and although his movement to find space and running in behind is good it's clear he needs more work on his finishing. There were three penalties in total and Sheffield United missed theirs and to be fair they also missed some decent chances. I think the point is coming where decisions will need to be made on some of the squad and in truth I don't think many of them will make it here. Batty was sent off for two yellow cards but I couldn't tell what the first one was for. His second was a rash challenge and deserved.

I honestly don't know what some fans expect. I'm sure I saw we are the lowest spending Championship club over the summer which in itself is credit to how much Tomasson is getting from his players.
