  1. Rochina, Formica, josh king, Ben Marshall, Duffy, Armstrong...depends how you define significant. Pickering? Kaminski? Also worth remembering some of those early frees will have been on high wages and probably high(ISH) agent fees - Etuhu, Murphy, Nuno Gomes
  2. Didn't Kean get a bonus for us being relegated? Back to Eustace. Up until last night, we've looked tighter at the back, but we also didnt look like winning many games. I don't find him particularly endearing - his talk of focusing on the pitch is understandable to a degree but disregards fans who care for the overall state of the club. It'd have been a token gesture but I didn't hear any apology for last night's display, particularly to those who attended - I thought that would be almost standard when you've been absolutely smashed and the team showed no fight or threat to goal. Even if we stay up he's got a long way to go to win me and I suspect others over.
  3. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24226354.eustace-makes-request-negative-energy-admission/ I get his point but the way it is reported, he doesn't endear himself to those who have concerns with the bigger picture at the club, rather than just the result on match day.
  4. Don't disagree he got some good loans but also some absolute duds or players who were quite poor for us: Zeefuik, Giles, Poveda, Clarkson, Douglas, Branthwaite (though started off ok), Palmer, Harper
  5. I hope your choice of word was simply ill-thought as opposed to what you do to someone you don't like. Are you implying the person should at the least be harassed by fans and as such, border assault? Assault not requiring contact to be made but the fear of unlawful contact?
  6. Don't think he's put a foot wrong since returning form injury. It might be argued the form of Leo means we appreciate what Pears does that bit more. Pears' speed off the line has been needed in recent games and he's not been rash in his judgement. Carry on like this for the remainder of the season and I don't think a new first choice keeper is on the list for summer recruitment.
  7. McFadzean what we've been missing at the back. No nonsense, talker, controlling the defensive line
  8. I'm pretty sure GB is in the video the club has just posted with the new gaffer arriving at ewood. Seems quite a purposeful clip of him as well
  9. The key reason he has been appointed is the club will not need to order new name plates, they've saved a few quid by using a Sharpie to add a 'h' to Jon's old gear. Best of luck to him, hope he can get us comfortably safe and then let's see what backing he gets in the summer.
  10. I didn't say that, you're mixing the points up. At it's most succinct, Blackburn Rovers are very far down the football food chain now. Nevermind not being able to offer Prem football, we can't offer a genuine chance of promotion to it.
  11. I'm pretty sure GB said he wanted to go once Luton made a bid. It wasn't in our interest to let Wharton, Armstrong, Raya, Duff, Dunn, Shearer, Sutton, Roque etc go. But we're Blackburn, not Real Madrid or Man City. if you're not a destination club, and we are far far far from that, your players are pretty much all available if what the club deems is an acceptable offer is made. Actually he nearly said as much himself
  12. He pushed to leave, as would most players at this level when a top tier team comes in. He's 31, chances of playing in an elite league wouldn't come around many more times.
  13. Not a legal appeal like last time to my knowledge so won't incur the same cost. Plus we brought in 18.5m on deadline day without any transfer fees out!
  14. It's one thing messing up the signing. It's another being classless about it. In the statement today and the previous one from the club, they do not apologise to the player, Orlando, the representatives of both and to us fans. Manners cost nothing (which you'd think would be ideal for our club at the moment) but they seemingly can't afford to use them. Rotten from the top.
  15. Perhaps they meant the deluxe upgraded coach we leased. Going to a mini van to cut costs.
  16. Perhaps we can plead stupidity and show everything was in place. "How incompetent must someone be to make similar mistakes twice in 12 months Mr EFL? Exactly, we have the most dimwitted imbecile operating the system. Of course everything was in place, you can see that. It's just our staff couldn't see the difference between save and submit". "You're right, it's so laughably poor that this person needs assessing. Fair enough. See you again in 12 months, we'll move the deadline for Rovers alone an hour earlier next time so it's actually submitted by the point everyone else does"
  17. Almost everyone seems in agreement that Waggott had this meeting to take the heat off himself. We've now got a lot of slagging off of players and some slagging off of other fans. If this is indicative of how the wider fan base reacts, Waggott gets what he wanted. Everyone would do well to keep sight of where the main problems are.
  18. Purely speculating aloud...the thing that can't yet be mentioned - possibly McGuire related or the shit show around transfers? Would have thought it would be brought up.
  19. The context J*B has given about half time talks is crucial. Having around 10000 people booing you can't be nice, bad enough for the experienced players but understandable how this could knock the youngsters. I'm not saying fans shouldn't boo, they have the right to express themselves, but the comments saying the players aren't focused on improving in the second half - you can't when half of the team have been shaken by the reaction.
  20. No room for sentiment but would have been nice for him to be in place for the fa cup game v Newcastle
