One of my mates has been a season ticket holder at Anfield for 45 years and he also goes to reserve and academy games whenever he can, especially now he's retired. He told me when we first signed this lad on loan that he is the best teenager he's ever seen. When you think of some of the young players LFC have produced in the past 25 years that is some praise indeed. Better than Owen, Fowler, Gerrard, Carragher etc etc
"Look after him" was his plea!
LFC didn't produce Harvey Elliott, they bought him from Fulham

I was there that day - suffering from vertigo like all the other Rovers fans. I seem to remember Michael Owen missing a few chances for them but the buzz when the winner went in was fantastic!
Excellent day! I have never seen a ground empty so quickly. By the time Rover's fans had had a good sing song in celebration all the roads were clear

We only won 7 games all season, and only one away. A brief recovery when Kidd took over, who was Manager of the Month in December. Two very disappointing away results towards the end of the season, 0-0 at Charlton when we had a stone wall penalty turned down when Ward was fouled in front of the Rovers fans, and after being 3-1 in front at Southampton, one of our relegation rivals, only drawing 3-3. This match was shown on the big screen at Ewood. Two wins would have taken it to the last game at Newcastle where we drew 1-1
Sutton only made 17 Premier League appearances, Gallacher made 13, both due to injury, scoring 3 and 5 goals respectively. Sherwood was off to Spurs after making 19 appearances. These players had been a massive factor in our success in the previous season. Uncle Jack should never have had to see us relegated with that squad.

The problems at Charlton this week illustrate the importance of a strong and active Rovers Trust

That massive club down the M65 who always take thousands to away matches, have just returned 1,500 of a 3,000 allocation to Man City, due to slow sales!!

Aside from the result one of the highlights for me was the run that Nyambe went on before crashing into the hoardings in front of the Blackburn End. Hopefully the shackles can come off now for him irrespective of what position he plays in.
The power he has just hasn't been utilised enough for me.
Should be one of the first names on the team sheet along with Travis

A Sheareresque shoulder charge for the first goal. Would probably have been a booking against Huddersfield last Saturday!!

30/31, 6ft1, free agent, relatively regular player for Freiburg, Leverkusen, Stuttgart, and PSV through his career.
Not stellar, but strikes me as a Craig Short type of steady, strong, unspectacular defender.
Craig Short unspectacular? I refer you to 01 April 2001!!!!!!!

Just beat a strong Stanley side on pens to get through to the final of the Lancashire Cup.
Well played lads.
Now play the winners of Rochdale and the Dingles at Leyland. What will the Lancashire police make of that?!

It was the same last season with all of our local away games taking place in the space of a few months before Christmas - Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Blackpool, Wigan. Think there was only Fleetwood which was after Christmas and that was a heavily restricted allocation.
Obviously Bury and Oldham away were more popular than Wigan and Blackpool were going to be. Blackpool was a mid-weeker although we still filled the end, whereas Wigan we weren't even close as it was right in the middle of a popular run of games. Had it been in March or April we'd have no doubt filled it easily.
Filled the end at Blackpool for a mid week game and there was a complete side empty because of health and safety reasons!

Dean Henderson, goalkeeper, now on loan at Sheffield United. Should be an interesting return to Ewood Park and especially in front of the Blackburn End after his reactions last season when playing Shrewsbury!

Ian was at Gigg Lane with his wife and son on Saturday and would have been in the same small corporate lounge as Suhail Pasha. Did not see Mike Cheston at the game.

Just read an interesting stat there. We haven't opened the scoring at Ewood since October. What the hell is going on there?
We must have opened the scoring when we beat Newcastle, Derby and Wigan 1-0!

TP also moved Scott Sellars from the middle to the left side of midfield. The Riverside should be renamed after TP as soon as the ground is fully open.
