  1. Yep, unfortunately so with regards players paid more. It has to be a watch out though. We're going to be on TV an awful lot which is another reason for fans not to buy a season ticket, as if having the 4th most expensive (it was something like that) wasn't reason enough.
  2. From what I’ve read the 3pm slot remains blackout so there will only be 7 x 3pm Saturday matches so that means 10 championship clubs each week will NOT be playing in the traditional slot. Absolute madness. Worth around £2m extra a year per club? If it’s £60m seasonal uplift with 80% going to the championship (assuming it’s split 24 ways equally). Now, will Waggott take that money off his ticket prices? (Narrator: He won’t)
  3. Yeah Colin Murray was good, like you say it seemed he actually had an interest in it outside of the media darling clubs. Does anyone know what the new deal means to us financially?
  4. How on earth is Mowbray getting credit in that article 😂 he was atrocious at managing our young academy lads and regularly threw Raya and Nyambe under the bus and I seem to remember Travis only got called up when we had a huge injury list. Pretty sure Wharton never played a competitive match under him.
  5. Looking at that squad we need: Starting GK LB and RB - starters / squad to compliment Pickering and Brittain Starting CM for JRCs annual injury 2 x Starting Wingers Starting CAM after we sell Szmodics Starting Striker Thats at least half a team of starters needed, with squad players on top of that. Sell/Release: Wahlstedt, Buckley, Markanday, Vale. I’d also let Hyam and Travis go if we get offers (the club won’t do this though). Anyway in reality, the squad will just continue to get weaker and weaker and we’ll invest barely anything.
  6. I’d just like to add, for our goal, Sam Gallagher did what we’ve all been begging him to do for years, number 9 using his size to win a cracking flick on to Dolan. I wish we’d see a lot more of that when attacking
  7. Saints still to play Leicester and Leeds too, both away mind you. If they win out then they’ll finish top 2 I’d imagine.
  8. I think that’s away at Leicester. Be great to beat them and make them miss out on automatics…..considering they’re allowed to get away with no deductions this year despite the biggest FFP cheating we’ve ever seen, it’s the least we could do for the footballing world 🙂
  9. 25/1 with bookmakers, and they’ll have plenty of juice in that. True price probably 100/1 relegation. 1% chance of happening. We’re safe.
  10. Exactly, and that’s not even taking account of Brum, Stoke, QPR, Plymouth who are also all below us and worse GD bar Plymouth. We’re safe and we can get back to seething about shambolic transfer windows and how little we’ll invest in the summer!
  11. Sickeningly, I actually think I’m going to have to cheer on bloody Russell Martin. As it’ll be so so so sweet to see both Leicester AND Leeds somehow miss out on automatic promotion!
  12. Last minute Bristol City goal gives us a lovely cushion. If we’d lost we’d have been sweating 90 minutes into the 3pms. Results weren’t looking too good. We’re safe now anyway, maybe not mathematically, but it’s a huge price for 5 of the 6 teams to all get to 50 points whilst we lose 3. True price probably bigger than 100/1 if I was sober enough to work it out!
  13. Yeah fair play. Nicely summed up there. 5-0 drubbings obviously put the downers on for everyone, but we also won one 5-1 in there and just beat top of the league. I’m just pleased to see some fight and ‘arte et labore’ !!
  14. Fair fucks to Eustace and the players, for everything they were to be blamed for mid-week they should be praised for today. Fantastic desire and effort, and ended up with the two best chances in the match. Szmodics added a few mill more onto his value. He came in with instructions to keep us up, and he’s done just that. (Added sweetener that it’s Leeds falling apart - hopefully Ipswich do the business today) edit: Bamford should have had two yellows for two dives. Pathetic excuse of a footballer, too busy falling on the floor to stick in the net. No wonder his own fans despise him. Wouldn’t even be pens in non-contact sports
  15. Disappointing to see Hyam start, what sort of message does that deliver, play as shit as you like lads and you’ll keep your place. I’d be amazed if it wasn’t the worst performance from any player, and any team in the Championship all season. Then again, he left him on all match to see an even worse 2nd half. Back to a back 3 by the looks of it, which is still yet to work under Eustace. Leeds by 3. Rovers 1 shot off target.
  16. In recent years I’d have followed that result closely but I barely registered it tonight, the interest is dwindling. We just need to beat Wednesday, but little hope our soft boys will do that
  17. For all those in disgust that we're giving Wednesday 7k and not just shoving them in the DE Upper, I beg you don't go onto Rovers facebook.....but i'll put a taste below to help you pull your hair out: "Another £175k plus food and drink, should spur us on more to put the ball in the net" "Our best performance in years was in front of 7k geordies" "How can we expect players to believe we are equal or better than them, if we don't" "Poor decision from home supporters not to go more like" "If we filled our own seats it wouldn't be a problem" my favourite....."Where's your faith in the team? players often play better to larger crowds" I honestly sometimes think we deserve our current mess, some of our lot only have air between their ears.
  18. Yeah I guess from my original post I also wanted to highlight how bad the end was under JDT….yet it’s looking as bad or worse under this fella. If we needed a change then, there’s an argument to say we need a change now away from Eustace.
  19. When we lose to Leeds it’ll be 10 points from 13 league games under Eustace and 1 win. JDTs final 13 league games….11 points. Worth reminding all those with blinkers on raving about how we’ve improved the last few weeks and constantly quoting X points in X games. Has a manager ever had the opposite of ‘new manager bounce’ to this extreme
  20. Norwich may have nothing to play for mind you (we’ve been there before!) Huddersfield also have Ipswich away last up. Ideal scenario is Leicester already winning the league and Leeds/Ipswich still battling for 2nd
  21. I fear for this squad if we do stay up. £0 will be reinvested we all know that (well all of us except one individual). Szmodics, Tronstad, JRC from the starting 11 are probably the only 3 of true quality to start if we had any ambition moving forward. We need a new GK, whole new back line, 2 wingers and a striker on a £0 budget.
  22. The players will be nice and comfy on Waggotts state of the art coach coming home at least.
  23. Brum losing is massive. They have 4 points from their last 10 matches, losing 8 of them, giving us a run for our money. Our saving grace is that there is still a chunk of teams between us and the relegation places. Hopefully Bristol City can do similar on Saturday against Huddersfield! Heads should roll at Rovers tonight, I can’t wait for this season to end now and reassess if I give up in the summer
