  1. After the debacle of Charlton I'd like to see us go with something totally different from the norm, lets face it we're going to get mullered anway. 4-4-2 - Walton, Nyambe, Tosin, Lenihan, Bell, Rothwell, Travis, Johnson, Downing, Brereton, Gallagher. Subs - Leutwiler, Mulgrew, Bennett, Chapman, Armstrong, Dack, Graham No doubt it will be the same tired players, trying to play in whatever weird formation TM has them working on this week. 3-0 Fulham, so happy i booked trains for this when the fixtures were released ?
  2. Don't know if I'm stepping on the toe's of anyone wanting to do the match thread but I thought I'd do one to get the conversation started. Not long till kick off now, doesn't seem that long ago since the last season finished and the manager currently has us in a weaker position (defensively) than what we were in last season. We have a tough start to the season so for me this is already a must win game, considering our home form is what kept us from being in a relegation battle last season. As far as our starting 11 goes, it's hard to predict right now considering we c
  3. With the dingles starting there season at home on Saturday 10th August, it looks like we'll be at home on the opening weekend (3rd August) Also looks like a home game on Boxing Day, away on New Years day, and away on the final day of the season if it falls on the same weekend as last season. Fixtures released next Thursday (20th) at 9am.
  4. The Fa cup 1st round starts this weekend ,many lower non league clubs will be looking to cause some upsets .There's not many bigger ties than Chorley FC v Doncaster Rovers FC ( somehow Bt and BBC chose not to show live coverage?). Top of the league Chorley have sofar won 49 grand in prize money alone gate receipts will make this 60-70 grand. The FA have doubled there prize money this year BBC 2 are showing live highlights of 6 games Sunday including this match ,all 12 teams receive £12,500 If you would like to go and support the Lancashire lads v Yorkshire here's the details Ko
  5. I thought this match deserving of it's own thread. Ordinarily I wouldn't agree but as it's a final and against the Troglodytes then winning becomes all that matters. On paper we should win. We have the quality and experience and stuffing them at anything matters. As of this morning there were less than 600 tickets sold.
  6. The conclusion of our 2018/19 season sees us face Swansea, recently relegated from the Premier League and previously labelled as Swansalona at their prime, which I used to always enjoy. We get cheap tickets, which some people think is a good idea - and others think is an insult to season ticket holders. They really can't please anyone. Rovers have won 4 of their last 5 - Swansea have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1, form which saw a late playoff charge from Swansea, but it wasn't quite enough, making this a total nothing game - apart from the battle of the Lancashire Championship Clubs,
  7. At Blueboy's request he would like some proper match threads ... He may have a point! Below is a list of our upcoming fixtures, if you'd like to start the thread for each please shout up. Opposition fan interviews, stats, history - whatever it is, let's see it! Rovers vs. Reading, Weds 22nd August Rovers vs Brentford, Sat 25th August - @blueboy3333 Rovers vs Lincoln, Tues 28th August - Biz Bristol vs Rovers, Sat 2nd September - K Hod Rovers vs Villa, Sat 15th September - proudtobebluenwhite Derby vs Rovers, Tues 18th September - Mike E Stoke vs Rovers, Sat 22
  8. Checked the match thread and nobody has volunteered for this one so here goes. I had vowed never to do a Match preview again after chalking up a 100% record of defeats in games I wrote in anticipation of last season so probably as well I saved my literary endeavours for one that doesn't matter. Not even prize money for places are at stake unless someone can correct me. 1965/6 was the first season I followed Rovers in depth and we had a decent Cup run as well as an abysmal relegation. In the 5th round we drew then 2nd Division Norwich away and got a 2-2 draw before winning the replay
  9. Some people here who have visited the game against Feyenoord in 2006?
  10. Norwich City are promoted to the Premier League after beating Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Carrow Road. Norwich exploded into the match scoring two early goals to take control of the game. Rovers got back into the match after Lewis Travis scored his first professional goal for the club. The loss ends Rovers winning run, and confirms Norwich promotion. Norwich City: Krul, Godfrey, Zimmermann (c), Vrancic (, Lewis, Buendia, Stiepermann (Tettey, 90), Pukki (Rhodes, 90), McLean, Hernandez (Leitner, 90), Aarons. Unused substitutes: McGovern, Klose, Hanley, Cantwell. Goals:
  11. Easter Monday sees us lock horns with an old foe from t'other side of Bull Hill. I have to be perfectly honest and admit I don't really care too much for them. Almost certainly this goes back to the 70's when a visit to Burnden Park could be intimidating. I was actually chased back to Trinity Street station by some Bolton fans because we had the temerity to beat them in a crucial Division Three game. For anybody of a certain age Derek Fazackerley scored a late winner. I used to meet him frequently on the football circuit and I always reminded him that he was almost responsible for an early dem
  12. Blackburn Rovers head to Carrow Road looking to upset the party as Norwich City look to seal the deal and get promoted to the Premier League. Rovers come into the match on the back of a sweet 4 game winning run, where as Norwich City come into this on the back of 4 draws. In this video I catch up with Norwich City supporter Harvey Monck and he gives his verdict on Norwich and the players that have stood out for him. We also take a look at the form book and get a prediction from the Cat. TWITCH ? http://twitch.tv/roverseas PATREON ?https://www.patreon.com/roverseas
  13. Blackburn Rovers made it 4 wins on the spin as they beat local rivals Bolton Wanderers 2-0 at Ewood Park. The story of the day was Ben Brereton scoring his first goal for the club in the 1st half. Rovers had other chances to add to their tally but had to wait to the 2nd half before we made the game safe. The 2nd goal fell to Adam Armstrong who tapped home a scrappy effort which made the points safe. Rovers will head to Carrow next Saturday as they look to be party poopers in Norwich City's promotion push. Rovers did introduce some youngsters in the 2nd half, as they looked
  14. It will be a Friday, but will it be any good? Rovers sit safe and sound in 15th place, QPR two places below on 48. Whilst mathematically Rangers can still be caught, relegation is unlikely, so a fairly meaningless match in the general scheme of things, but will tinker Tony blood some youngsters? Founded in 1886, Rangers meandered around various grounds in and around White City, they finally settled at Loftus Road. They have had pockets of success, winning the then League Cup in 1967, and finished runners up in the First Division in 1975-6. Head to head we have won 21, drawn 12 a
  15. Blackburn Rovers take on already relegated Bolton Wanderers in their penultimate home match of the season. Rovers have the comfort in knowing that they cannot go up or cannot go down and will look to make it 4 wins on the spin at Ewood Park. Bolton come into the match after their latest loss to Aston Villa which say them drop to the 3rd tier of english football. Rovers on the other hand come into the match on the back of a 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers. In this video I preview the match, take a look at the form books and see what Cass the Cat has to say about the match.
  16. Blackburn Rovers made it 3 wins on the spin after an impressive performance against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road. Rovers got their goals firstly from Danny Graham who converted a penalty after a Rovers man was brought down. Rovers made it two quickly into the 2nd half after Bradley Dack converted a Adam Armstrong cross into the back of the net. Blackburn had a few decent opportunities to add to their tally however they could not be converted. QPR made it a little nervy deep into the final stages as Matt Smith pulled on back for the hosts. Queens Park Rangers: Lumley,
  17. Blackburn Rovers head to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers looking to make it 3 wins in a row. QPR come into the match fresh off the back of a nice victory over Swansea City, whereas Rovers come into the match off the back of the away win against Nottingham Forest. In this video I preview the match, look at the form books and get a prediction from the Cat. Also we hear from Jonny Naidoo who is a Queens Park Rangers supporter about their season and the match this Friday. If you want to check me out LIVE on TWITCH on Easter Monday as Rovers take o n Bolton Wanderers
  18. Can't seem to find anything so here it is. Will Mowbray stick with the same team as Tuesday. Will my lads get out of Hooters. Questions Questions. 1 0 win for the ROVERS
  19. Back to back wins for Blackburn Rovers after they managed to scrape a 1-2 win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Rovers took the lead thanks to form man Joe Rothwell in the first half after a lovely floating shot hit the back of the net. Rovers doubled their lead in the 2nd half thanks to Danny Graham who bagged his 150th professional goal. Yates gave Forest hope to make it 1-2, however despite all their pressure they could not find an equalizer. Rovers will move onto take on QPR on Good Friday. Meanwhile you can catch me LIVE via TWITCH on Easter Monday for a L
  20. Where do we go from here, is it down to the lake I fear.... Frank Lampard FC are in town so we're all off Ewood, that's where, the home of Tony's exciting free-scoring Rovers team. It's going to be a cracker! Lord knows what the team will be but hopefully at least 1 youngster will play just to add some intrigue. FLDCFC are actually fairly shite away from home (1 win in 8 ) so in time-honoured tradition we'll roll out the red carpet and give them a timely play-off boost. Rovers 1 v 2 Derby County Att; 3100 (3000 away) Speeedddiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. Blackburn Rovers hit the road once again to take on playoff chasing Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Rovers come into the match off the back of a confidence boosting win over Derby County earlier in the week. Forest on the other hand come into the match on the back of a loss to Sheffield Wednesday. Despite that Forest still have slight ambitions to gate crash the playoffs, as for Rovers they seem to have done enough to keep themselves in the division for another season. In this video I preview the match, take a look at the form books and speak with Forest fan Jack Inge
  22. Blackburn Rovers got back to winning ways with a amazing performance against high flyers Derby County, coming with a comfortable 2-0 win at Ewood Park. Rovers hit the ground running and could have scored 5 or 6 in this match had it not been for Derby's strong defense. The deadlock was broken however via Joe Rothwell who's first goal for the club was a cheeky chip over the Derby keeper. Rovers added a 2nd right at the death via Bradley Dack who tapped in the final ball after a great build up by Rovers. If Rovers can deliver this kind of performance week in week out we could have
  23. Well then, our season seems to have petered out somewhat, we’re all a bit fed up for many reasons, but it’s Easter soon and we get extra days off work…. (Well, most of us do!) In our last match, at in-form Aston Villa, as many of us expected, we lost. Though admittedly, not as heavily as I personally would have thought! A Bit About Stoke-On-Trent At a music festival last year, my mate and I got talking to a lad from Stoke at the bar. He asked us what we knew of Stoke, I said ‘Alton Towers’ and my mate said ‘Rory Delap’. My mate had the better answer, it turned out, a
  24. Blackburn Rovers return to Ewood Park to take on high flying Derby County, with the hope of breaking their winless run. Rovers come into the match on the back of a 0-1 loss to Stoke City. Derby on the other hand come into the match off the back of a thrilling 3-3 draw against Brentford. In this video I preview the match, look at the form books and get a prediction from the Cat. Also joining me this week is Chris Parson's from the Steve Bloomers Washing podcast, we talk all things Derby County. https://stevebloomerswashing.com/ @SteveBloomerPod https://itunes.
  25. Blackburn Rovers return to Ewood Park but could not break the air tight Stoke defense and ultimately losing 0-1. Etebo the only scorer on the day with a crisp strike that broke the Rovers defense. It could have been much worse for Rovers as Stoke were given a penalty which was saved by David Raya between the sticks. Raya also came to Rovers rescue in the 2nd half and delivered a wonder save to deny ex Burnley man Sam Volkes a goal. Rovers created little and look lost at sea the moment. The season can not end quick enough for Rovers who will need to work extra hard in the s
