  1. Blackburn Rovers made it 4 wins on the spin as they beat local rivals Bolton Wanderers 2-0 at Ewood Park. The story of the day was Ben Brereton scoring his first goal for the club in the 1st half. Rovers had other chances to add to their tally but had to wait to the 2nd half before we made the game safe. The 2nd goal fell to Adam Armstrong who tapped home a scrappy effort which made the points safe. Rovers will head to Carrow next Saturday as they look to be party poopers in Norwich City's promotion push. Rovers did introduce some youngsters in the 2nd half, as they looked
  2. It will be a Friday, but will it be any good? Rovers sit safe and sound in 15th place, QPR two places below on 48. Whilst mathematically Rangers can still be caught, relegation is unlikely, so a fairly meaningless match in the general scheme of things, but will tinker Tony blood some youngsters? Founded in 1886, Rangers meandered around various grounds in and around White City, they finally settled at Loftus Road. They have had pockets of success, winning the then League Cup in 1967, and finished runners up in the First Division in 1975-6. Head to head we have won 21, drawn 12 a
  3. Blackburn Rovers take on already relegated Bolton Wanderers in their penultimate home match of the season. Rovers have the comfort in knowing that they cannot go up or cannot go down and will look to make it 4 wins on the spin at Ewood Park. Bolton come into the match after their latest loss to Aston Villa which say them drop to the 3rd tier of english football. Rovers on the other hand come into the match on the back of a 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers. In this video I preview the match, take a look at the form books and see what Cass the Cat has to say about the match.
  4. Blackburn Rovers made it 3 wins on the spin after an impressive performance against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road. Rovers got their goals firstly from Danny Graham who converted a penalty after a Rovers man was brought down. Rovers made it two quickly into the 2nd half after Bradley Dack converted a Adam Armstrong cross into the back of the net. Blackburn had a few decent opportunities to add to their tally however they could not be converted. QPR made it a little nervy deep into the final stages as Matt Smith pulled on back for the hosts. Queens Park Rangers: Lumley,
  5. Blackburn Rovers head to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers looking to make it 3 wins in a row. QPR come into the match fresh off the back of a nice victory over Swansea City, whereas Rovers come into the match off the back of the away win against Nottingham Forest. In this video I preview the match, look at the form books and get a prediction from the Cat. Also we hear from Jonny Naidoo who is a Queens Park Rangers supporter about their season and the match this Friday. If you want to check me out LIVE on TWITCH on Easter Monday as Rovers take o n Bolton Wanderers
  6. Can't seem to find anything so here it is. Will Mowbray stick with the same team as Tuesday. Will my lads get out of Hooters. Questions Questions. 1 0 win for the ROVERS
  7. Back to back wins for Blackburn Rovers after they managed to scrape a 1-2 win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Rovers took the lead thanks to form man Joe Rothwell in the first half after a lovely floating shot hit the back of the net. Rovers doubled their lead in the 2nd half thanks to Danny Graham who bagged his 150th professional goal. Yates gave Forest hope to make it 1-2, however despite all their pressure they could not find an equalizer. Rovers will move onto take on QPR on Good Friday. Meanwhile you can catch me LIVE via TWITCH on Easter Monday for a L
  8. Where do we go from here, is it down to the lake I fear.... Frank Lampard FC are in town so we're all off Ewood, that's where, the home of Tony's exciting free-scoring Rovers team. It's going to be a cracker! Lord knows what the team will be but hopefully at least 1 youngster will play just to add some intrigue. FLDCFC are actually fairly shite away from home (1 win in 8 ) so in time-honoured tradition we'll roll out the red carpet and give them a timely play-off boost. Rovers 1 v 2 Derby County Att; 3100 (3000 away) Speeedddiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. Blackburn Rovers hit the road once again to take on playoff chasing Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Rovers come into the match off the back of a confidence boosting win over Derby County earlier in the week. Forest on the other hand come into the match on the back of a loss to Sheffield Wednesday. Despite that Forest still have slight ambitions to gate crash the playoffs, as for Rovers they seem to have done enough to keep themselves in the division for another season. In this video I preview the match, take a look at the form books and speak with Forest fan Jack Inge
  10. Blackburn Rovers got back to winning ways with a amazing performance against high flyers Derby County, coming with a comfortable 2-0 win at Ewood Park. Rovers hit the ground running and could have scored 5 or 6 in this match had it not been for Derby's strong defense. The deadlock was broken however via Joe Rothwell who's first goal for the club was a cheeky chip over the Derby keeper. Rovers added a 2nd right at the death via Bradley Dack who tapped in the final ball after a great build up by Rovers. If Rovers can deliver this kind of performance week in week out we could have
  11. Well then, our season seems to have petered out somewhat, we’re all a bit fed up for many reasons, but it’s Easter soon and we get extra days off work…. (Well, most of us do!) In our last match, at in-form Aston Villa, as many of us expected, we lost. Though admittedly, not as heavily as I personally would have thought! A Bit About Stoke-On-Trent At a music festival last year, my mate and I got talking to a lad from Stoke at the bar. He asked us what we knew of Stoke, I said ‘Alton Towers’ and my mate said ‘Rory Delap’. My mate had the better answer, it turned out, a
  12. Blackburn Rovers return to Ewood Park to take on high flying Derby County, with the hope of breaking their winless run. Rovers come into the match on the back of a 0-1 loss to Stoke City. Derby on the other hand come into the match off the back of a thrilling 3-3 draw against Brentford. In this video I preview the match, look at the form books and get a prediction from the Cat. Also joining me this week is Chris Parson's from the Steve Bloomers Washing podcast, we talk all things Derby County. https://stevebloomerswashing.com/ @SteveBloomerPod https://itunes.
  13. Blackburn Rovers return to Ewood Park but could not break the air tight Stoke defense and ultimately losing 0-1. Etebo the only scorer on the day with a crisp strike that broke the Rovers defense. It could have been much worse for Rovers as Stoke were given a penalty which was saved by David Raya between the sticks. Raya also came to Rovers rescue in the 2nd half and delivered a wonder save to deny ex Burnley man Sam Volkes a goal. Rovers created little and look lost at sea the moment. The season can not end quick enough for Rovers who will need to work extra hard in the s
  14. Blackburn Rovers return to Ewood Park to take on Stoke City this weekend. Both teams seemed to be destined for Championship football next season, but who can finish their season off stronger? Stoke come into this match fresh of the back of 4 scoreless draws. Whereas Rovers come into the match off the back of a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa. In this video I speak with David Cowlishaw from the Wizards of Drivel podcast who gives me a quick recap of the Stoke City season, their chances this weekend and more. We also get a prediction from the cat and take a look at the Championship
  15. Apologies for my tardiness in bringing you the review. I have been waiting for my dopey Villa mate to reply to an email I sent him on the 13th of this month! This is the email I sent, and as luck would have it, I have just received a reply: Thanks Rick and son Scott. "I have said I will do the website preview of our game at your place week on Saturday, sort of an update to the game at ours......if you and Scott could pitch in again and answer these very in depth questions! Spookily, we meet again, this time at your place following an international break. What a differenc
  16. Blackburn Rovers returned to Sky Bet Championship football with a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park. Goals from Tammy Abraham and Tyrone Mings gave Villa a two goal lead. Rovers had to turn to Amari Bell to provide any hope as Blackburn pushed for an equalizer. The win continues a torrid spell for Rovers as their season draws to a close. Where as Villa will hope this win edges them closer to securing a playoff spot. In this video we hear from Dan Collins (@DCSparkyDC) get his verdict on the match. The gaffa also gives his opinion, plus match stats, feedback and more.
  17. I can’t stand Wednesday. Deludedly “massive” having done nothing for years, and lots of my friends are fans. I want my friends to be sad. Visitors should go down Kelham Island/Neepsend and get the tram up. The area is widely regarded as one of the best for “proper” alehouses in the country. The Fat Cat is my favourite. A bit closer to the ground (ten minute walk away) is The New Barrack Tavern. Love it here: good food - loads of beers and football focused. Full of friendly Wednesdayites pre-match so don’t be a dick. The Dinnerlady has shored their team up recently, bu
  18. Blackburn Rovers slipped to another away defeat at the hands of a revamped Sheffield Wednesday. The final score being a mouthwatering 4-2 win for the Owls. Plenty of action within the match which could have seen many more goals, Sheff Wed hit the post in the first half before taking the lead though Steve Fletcher. Rovers on the other hand relied on goals from Craig Conway and Elliott Bennett however it was not enough to get anything out of this entertaining defeat. A bit of break in the Championship comes at a good time for all, especially Rovers as we hope to see some defe
  19. Wigan haven't won away since August. Mercer will predict a comfortable home win. I'll give it a miss.
  20. Blackburn Rovers head back out on the road to take on in form Sheffield Wednesday. Rovers come into this match fresh off the back of a comfortable home win against Wigan Athletic. Steve Bruce's Sheffield Wednesday come into this match in fine form, most recently beating Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium. In this video I preview the match, take a look at what the fans have to say and we get a prediction from the Cat. 21. Blackburn Rovers returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win over relegation strugglers Wigan Athletic to end their winless streak. Rovers broke the deadlock midway through the first half via a Danny Graham penalty. Graham added to both his and Rovers tally thanks to some horrific Wigan Athletic defending. The third goal came via Bradley Dack and yet another disaster by the Wigan defense, one of the scrappiest goals you will ever see. Those goals saw Rovers over the line and 3 valuable points. The game also saw the debut of young defender Tyler Magliore who is
  22. Preston at home will not be available on the red button via Sky Sports https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/february/preston-game-not-to-be-streamed-live/
  23. Blackburn Rovers bring the Sky Bet Championship back to Ewood Park in the hope of finding a first win in a long time. Their visitors will be last seasons rivals Wigan Athletic. Wigan Athletic come into the match fresh off the back of a last minute loss to strugglers Reading. Rovers come into this match in woeful form, with their last match a 0-1 loss to neighbours Preston North End. Blackburn have some concerns with defense, and Tony Mowbray could field a bizarre starting eleven. In this video I preview the match, take a look at what the fans have to say and we get a predi
  24. Blackburn Rovers terrible form continues as they lost against local rivals Preston North End after a scrappy 0-1. Johnson the only scorer on the day after breaching the Rovers defense in the 9th minute. Rovers pressed to find an equaliser however, all their efforts were in vein. This continues Rovers search for a win, and the result will leave Rovers rock bottom of the form table with games running out. Rovers: Raya, Reed (Nuttall, 62), Nyambe, Williams, Mulgrew (c) (Bell, 72), Bennett, Evans, Smallwood (Rothwell, 72), Armstrong, Dack, Graham. Unused substitutes: Leutw
  25. Blackburn Rovers return to Sky Bet Championship action with a trip to Villa Park to take on Dean Smith's Aston Villa. Rovers head into the match on the back of a defeat to Sheffield Wednesday. Whereas the hosts Aston Villa come into the match on the back of a 3-0 win over fellow playoff chasing Middlesbrough. Blackburn will hope to see some fresh faces return on Saturday with Mulgrew, Rodwell and Lenihan all on the fringes of a return. In this video I speak with Aston Villa fan Dan Collins about their season, their chances and much more. I also take a look at the form
