  1. Well, as I sit here composing more nonsense to hopefully educate and entertain, Sir Bradley of Dack has put us 2-0 up against WBA. I hope by the time I've finished WBA will not have scored 3! (Now 2-1!). The FA Cup, the oldest cup competition in the whole of the World, is perhaps not all it used to be, and isn't perhaps always taken seriously by the Lords at the PL top table, but fair play to Newcastle they have priced this very attractively to us, and an initial allocation of 3,000 may well sell out at £10 tops. Head to head: As far as I can work out, we have surprisingly only
  2. Blackburn Rovers return to Sky Bet Championship action when they take on bottom of the league Ipswich Town. Rovers come into the match off the back of an extra time defeat against Premier League Newcastle United in a FA Cup replay. As for our visitors Ipswich Town they come into the match off the back of a 1-0 win over Rotherham United. Ipswich will be managed by Ex Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Lambert, whereas Rovers will be managed by Ex Ipswich Town player Tony Mowbray. In this video I caught up with Ipswich Town supporter Benjamin Bloom from the Blue Monday Podcast for
  3. Blackburn Rovers crashed out of the FA Cup after an exhausting encounter against Newcastle United. The final score of the match after 120 minutes of action was 2-4. Rovers actually started the match in the worst possible fashion conceding in the 1st minute. Newcastle then extended their lead making it 0-2 midway into the first half. Rovers clawed their way back into the match via Adam Armstrong, before Darragh Lenihan made it 2-2 on the stroke of half time. Newcastle United got the curcial 3rd goal in extra time via a dubious goal which on 2nd look was clearly offside. After
  4. Blackburn Rovers return to Ewood Park to take on Newcastle United in the FA Cup replay for a place in the 4th round. Blackburn come into this match on the back of a win against Millwall on the weekend. Newcastle on the other hand come into this match on the back of a defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League. The first time these two sides locked horns in the initial FA Cup match the scoreline was 1-1. Rovers will hope home advantage will have the desired effect when Newcastle United come calling on Tuesday night. In this video we countdown to kick off with some team stats,
  5. This coming weekend Rovers are literally going into the Lions Den as we take on Millwall. I believe that pound for pound the New Den is the most hostile ground in the country which can be daunting for officials, players and visiting supporters. Millwall were formed in 1885 and contrary to rumour not by London Dockers but the workers of J. T. Morton's canning and preserve factory in the Millwall area of the Isle of Dogs in London's East End. Strangely enough their original name was Millwall Rovers. They moved to the Den (the Cold Blow Lane one) in 1910 where they stayed until 1993 when the
  6. Blackburn Rovers continued their unbeaten start to 2019 as the beat Millwall 2-0 and The Den. The goals came very late, the first via Joe Nuttall, not the prettiest of goals, but very vital. The 2nd came in quick succession as substitute Adam Armstrong scored via an excellent counter attack. In this video we hear what Tony Mowbray had to say after that match. We take an deeper look at the story of the match and get the thoughts from both sides of the fence, with a video from Millwall supporter Michael Avery. Millwall: Archer, Meredith (Williams, 87), Hutchinson (c), Cooper, Wa
  7. Blackburn Rovers return to league action this time they head down south to London to take on Millwall. This will be the second time these two sides lock horns, after the first encounter ended 0-0. Rovers come into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw with Premier League Newcastle United in the FA Cup. As for the hosts they come into the match on the back of a FA Cup victory over Hull City. Millwall's recent form could cause some concern for Rovers, as they have won 4 out of 5 in all competitions. In this video I spoke with Millwall supporter Michael Avery about their ch
  8. Well on the eve of our match, the first match of the dog's dinner round of three takes place on the Wirral. As I type, Spurs are 7-0 up at Tranmere. A thread not particularly for our great FA cup tradition, but for comments about the other ties? As I said in the Newcastle thread, it would be nice for us to take it seriously. The commentators are saying Spurs not reet bothered. I find that quite sad. But they are doing alreet at the moment!
  9. Blackburn Rovers continued their 2019 in unbeaten style as they held Premier League Newcastle United to a 1-1 draw in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Blackburn took the lead through Bradley Dack who made it two goals in two games. Newcastle equalized via a penalty deep into the match Matt Ritchie the goalscorer. To be honest I felt Rovers were in control of the match, and could find themselves a little bit unlucky not to have made it through to the 4th road proper. Rovers and Newcastle will go again in a replay, and both names for now will go into the hat for the 4th round.
  10. Blackburn Rovers switch gears and focus on some FA Cup action up against Premier League Newcastle United. Good chance for some younger players to experience a larger crowd as tickets are cheap as chips. WE WILL BE THERE!! Rovers will head into the match on the back of a New Years day win over West Brom. As for Newcastle, they come into the match on the back of a defeat against a revitalized Manchester United. In this video which was recorded outside Ewood Park, we preview the match and get a prediction from the Cat. Webpage ? http://blackburnroverseas.com Twitter ?
  11. Well it's a start. Well done Rovers on putting this together: https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/december/matchday-timetable-west-bromwich-albion-h/ I'm going positive. 2-2
  12. Blackburn Rovers started 2019 with a much needed win against high flyers West Bromwich Albion. Rovers coming away with a 2-1 win courtesy if goals from Charlie Mulgrew (direct from corner kick), and Bradley Dack. As for West Brom, their goal came from a penalty from ex dingle Jay Rodriguez. West Brom did have a player sent off in the final 10 minutes or so, which sealed the deal. In this video we review the match, take a look at the match stats, and hear what the gaffa has to say. 14. At the time of going to press: the world is shocked that The Queen has got a golden toilet, I’ve put on a(nother) stone of Xmas cheer, and disappointingly for some - Mowbray hasn’t resigned as a result of those late goals. Well buckle up chaps, because it’s our final game of 2018 – and what a fantastic year it has been: We lost just two games at Ewood. We had a memorable, wonderful night in Doncaster (and therefore created a sentence never before written). We found out that Bradley Dack’s influence is such that if he bends down and points at a girl’s arse in a gar
  15. Thought it was worth looking back on December and the chances missed and how it’s gone south! 1st December home v Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 win December started well with a relatively routine win over Wednesday bar a couple of scares with goals conceded 8th December away at Middlesbrough 1-1 draw A point would have been respectable here but they were down to 10 men and we went 1-0 up after 15 or so minutes only to sit back and concede, 2 points dropped! 15th December home to Birmingham 2-2 draw 2-0 up and coasting to a routine win t
  16. Blackburn Rovers will start 2019 with another tricky fixture against West Bromwich Albion. Can we get the year off to a great start or will it more of the same? Rovers come into this match on the back of 3 defeats, in fact they have not won in five matches. As for West Brom, they come into the match in at least 5 game unbeaten streak, and hope to finish us off after the two sides drew at the Hawthorns earlier in the season. In this video, I preview the match, build up and more. Fancy some more? You can also find me here: -- http://blackburnroverseas.com -- http://t

  18. As we find ourselves in our worst run of form under Mowbray, what is an acceptable return from the next 6 games (Max 18 pts)? From my perspective: West Brom (1pt) This game is all about the Rovers manager and the performance he can get from his team, following a hugely disappointing run of 9 games. Show us that the fight is still there, show some mental strength not to crumble and get turned over. In our current form, a draw would be a good result but ship another 3 goals and lose, and the knives will be out again. Target: 1 point is the realistic target going in, if we can
  19. I've never really liked Leeds as a team. Growing up in the late 60's, early 70's, Chelsea were always more glamorous. Rovers were in the Wilderness. Their "style" of football under Revie was at times brutal. A bit like their stadium and (without generalising) their horrible fans. I've been to Elland Road a number of times, and have always felt intimidated and unwanted, as we always seemed to be in that bleak corner. Ahead of our match against Norwich, and Leeds at Villa on Sunday, they currently sit top of the (Christmas) tree, with 45 points, whilst we are becalmed in mid-table, 14 point
  20. Next up for Blackburn Rovers the difficult task of high flying Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Rovers come into this match on back to back defeats most recently the 3-2 loss to Leeds United. As for Sheffield United they come into this match on the back of an impressive victory against Derby County. In this video I preview the match, with a prediction from the Cat. 21. Blackburn Rovers make it back to back defeats as they lose in a 5 goal thriller against top of the table Leeds United. Leeds took the lead through a big fat own goal by Derrick Williams. Rovers looked 2nd best throughout the first half as Leeds had plenty of chances to extend that lead. Rovers got back into the match shortly into the 2nd half after we were awarded a penalty which Cpt Fantastic scored to level the scorline at 1-1. Rovers then took the lead deep into the latter stages of the match, when Rothwell was brought down in a promising area. Mulgrew converted a beautiful
  22. Next up for Blackburn Rovers the difficult task of top of the table Leeds United in their own backyard. Rovers come into this match on the back of a defeat to Norwich City, whereas Leeds United come into the match on the back of a winning result against Aston Villa. Rovers looking for a first win in 5 whereas Leeds have won 5 out of the last 5. One positive for Rovers, we did beat Leeds United earlier in the season at Ewood Park, hopefully we can surprise a few and snatch something from the game. In this video I preview the match, with a prediction from the Cat. Webpag
  23. Had the old work party yesterday so not feeling too fresh today. This is my 3rd match thread this year and will undoubtedly be the worst. Big game for us to test our credentials. Knowing us we will put in a good show here. My 1 concern is the deflating manner of the draw last week. I have been on teams where you throw games away and it is so difficult to get the momentum back the next game. Players are looking around blaming each other. Hopefully our tight knit bunch dig deep and put last week to bed. From looking at score updates over the season, Norwich love a late goal. This un
  24. For anyone thinking of going to this on the train I have been told there will be no trains coming back from Sheffield after 2pm due to industrial action on the 29th. Looked at the Trainline app and seems to be right. So might have to make alternative arrangements if thinking of going via the train.
  25. Blackburn Rovers ended their home form in 2018 with a defeat to high flyers Norwich City. The Canaries left it late to score the one and only goal which came on the 81st minute thanks to top scorer Teemu Puuki. Rovers kept Norwich at bay for the majority of the match, and looked destined for a point, however we ultimately ended the match with 10 men as Harrison Reed picked up an injury late on after all subs were used. Doesn't get much easier for Rovers as we take on Leeds United and Sheffield United to end the calendar year. In this video we take a look at the match stats, hea
