  1. I thought a new thread would be in order for the new Championship season. It looks like Middlesbrough are set to appoint Woodgate as their new boss. I'm praying he finds a role for Stewart Downing. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11680/11740080/jonathan-woodgate-set-to-take-over-as-middlesbrough-boss Also Steve Cooper looks like he will be named as the new as the new Swansea mananger. I know Steve well as I am close friends with his dad. I think it's a shrewd appointment and wish him all the best apart from when we play them. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/485
  2. From what I gather, Mowbray will be relying on Free's and Loan's to patch together a working squad next season. Shall post the top two division Released Lists to give an indicator of what we have available to us. Players on high wages or are above our station can obviously be skimmed over by readers. Also expect Tony to make use of the International Market this summer, with Germany a country of interest. (The following info is from official released lists dated June/July 2020, it might not account for players signed up to new contracts or signed for other teams) 2019/20 Fr
  3. Just seen a post on Facebook of the new training kit. Got to say it looks lovely. Anyone heard any rumours on new kits or release date?

  5. Johnson promoted to first team technical coach by Mowbray and head of player development.
  6. Just to let you all know that BRFCS has funded two VIP fan cutouts to take their place around the Ewood Park dugout tomorrow. One has been funded by BRFCS on behalf of all our members & the other has been funded by BRFCS staff. The two VIP cut outs, have been donated to https://www.blackburnyz.org & will be debuting tomorrow. Blackburn Youth Zone is a fantastic local charity supporting children across the region. The cutouts will display two of their members and be given to them, signed by the squad, at the end of the season. Let’s hope that they bring us some luck during the
  7. One of the Holy Trinity, with Dunny and Duffy http://www.polarispublishing.com/book/matt_jansen What do you do when the world is at your feet . . . and then suddenly it isn’t? Matt Jansen had it all. He was young, quick, audaciously skilful and, at the turn of the millennium, regarded as one of the most intelligent attacking talents in English football. His potential seemed boundless. After bursting onto the scene with Carlisle in 1997 and helping his hometown club win promotion, Sir Alex Ferguson had tried to lure him to Old Trafford – but foreseeing only a bench spot at
  8. Can’t see this mentioned anywhere, but Jim Fryatt died on Friday in Las Vegas ( believe it or not). The older fans will remember him for his sideburns, his amazing heading of a ball and the goal he scored against a brilliant Man City side at Ewood in front of the last 40,000 (43,000 actually) gate at Ewood. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2020/june/05062020-jim-fryatt-passes-away/
  9. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/may/rovers-sadness-over-former-director/ RIP MR Hubert.

  13. italians officials have confirmed that the iconic san siro can be demolished to make way for a new stadium another corporate bowl no doubt and another iconic venue bulldozed, after the mess they made of the maracana, hampden park and the overblown cost of building a new wembley, sadly we will soon be left with only memories, only the upcoming economic slump can save us from the corporate behamoth
  14. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/17776802.netflix-football-drama-english-game-due-filmed-stoneclough/ The series draws on the formation of Blackburn Rovers FC, a founding member of The Football League, and Darwen FC
  15. I'm always interested in hearing new/old music that has passed me by. There is no greater joy than a banging tune. ? So if you love something shove it in here. I am currently listening to this beauty:-
  16. If any of our esteemed female members or indeed to avoid allegations of inequality, I have a signed Rovers female shirt, free of charge for anyone interested. Let me know.
  17. Looks as though the LT has taken the decision to set up a paywall for online access, moving away from the ad-driven model. Such a poor quality rag, it will have to seriously up its game in terms of, y’know, actual news if it wants to stay in business. Maybe replace ‘reporters’ with proper journalists, who knows... First they took the journalism out of the newspaper, then the newspaper out of the town, now they are taking the entire brand. I won’t by that Newsquest Manc rubbish in print, I certainly won’t be paying for it as pixels - especially in the era of the great GDPR con. Blackburn’s
  18. I contacted Alan Shearer via twitter and he agreed to sign my shirt for me, im over the moon. I’m in Ireland so posted it to the UK with a return envelope and I had it back inside a week. He came across as a really nice guy, even sent me this emoji in a message when I thanked him on twitter for the memories and the goals ?‍♂️ Lol
  19. I am sure we all wish Dominic a full recovery from an operation to remove a brain tumour
  20. Just heard Kenny has been tested positive for Coronavirus. i an sure you will want to wish him all the best and pray for a full recovery. - The Rovers family.
