  1. Bradley Dack looks uncannily like a younger Lowell George from the band Little Feat.
  2. Well 2020 was quite the year wasn’t it ? It feels massively inappropriate to be moaning about football in the context of the challenges being faced across the country right now but somehow, having a good old moan after a disappointing defeat helps restore some semblance of normality...! A lot of people have kept this site ticking over this year - we’ve done a LOT of work behind the scenes that will go largely unnoticed (except when the Like button disappears...🤦‍♂️) so thanks to Stuart, Andy (& from time to time, the old guard Glenn & Biddy) for doing what needs to be done to
  3. Here's wishing every one of you and your families a wonderful healthy happy and successful 2021. We've been through a lot together as Rovers fans and 2020 has had its own particular twists and challenges to say the least. But I am very upbeat about the coming year even though the first quarter promises to be the worst part of Covid. We even have a bit of a Rolls Royce of a Rovers squad albeit the tires at the back are bald, there's no spare and we have found out what we suspected all along, the long serving chauffeur doesn't know how to drive... Here's my 30,000th post- wh
  4. Hi, I am looking to purchase classic Rovers Shirts from season 1990/91 & 91/92. If any one has these shirts and wishes to sell
  5. Hello All, I was wondering if I could get some support at the upcoming elections for FSF National Council? I previously spent time on the National Council during the period I was involved with the BRFC Action Group and Rovers Trust. When I stood down from both organisations to concentrate more of my efforts on work and family, I also stood down from the National Council. We are facing challenging times as supporters, with talk of breakaway leagues, empty grounds due to Covid, Clubs having a real threat of going out of business and many issues around our national game. I feel I'm
  6. Hey everyone, I'm one of the boot room staff here at BRFCS, I look after the servers and make sure they don't fall over ... or rather, get them running again when they do, I'm BRFCS' Mike Pettigrew if you will. With that in mind that I've been doing some work with the admins and mods to try and make the site a bit more resilient, it's no Vince Grella for staying on it's feet as it is, but it's no Derek Fazackerley either, it could be better. Over this coming weekend there will have to be some downtime (not during the game, I'll be watching that) as I start the work, then again in a f
  7. Here you can discuss the FIFA World Ranking. Good to see England doing well. Belgium at number 1 is quite a stunt. They were located around spot 70 a few years ago.
  8. Hello Rovers fans We're looking for your nostalgic photo and video content to help us tell the Blackburn story in the 1990s for a BBC 2 documentary. I work for Story Films and we are making a series about the history of the Premier League in the 1990s - naturally one of the major stories will be the Blackburn Renaissance under the stewardship of Jack Walker. I've been scouring the archives of ITV, the BBC and Sky but what I'm still missing is more content shot by fans around that time (let's say 91-96) to help capture the mood amongst fans and the whole town. **What sorts of thi
  9. Apologies that this isn’t strictly rovers related. I am currently doing my dissertation on the relationship between football fans and place. If you could please fill out my questionnaire I would great appreciate it. Should only take 5 minutes.https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=DQSIkWdsW0yxEjajBLZtrQAAAAAAAAAAAAO__cQBzlBUNDkxOEhXUkJKTDlYUzlKSjlVRThYU1pJNS4u EDIT: I’ve managed to reach the maximum amount of responses, so thank you to everyone who participated!
  10. How many of these 20 'obscure' Rovers players can you name? Some of them are more difficult than others. 1) Jimmy Corbett 2) Hakan Unsal 3) Dario Marcolin 4) Oumar Konde 5) Dino Baggio 6) Niklas Gudmundsson 7) Per Pedersen 8.) Kaba Diawara 9) James Thomas 10) Adam Reed 11) Anders Andersson 12) David Yelldell 13) Javi De Pedro 14) Bruno Berner 15) Maceo Rigters 16) Lars Jacobsen 17) Elrio Van Heerden
  11. So whos going to be watching? ?‍♂️#guilty
  12. Hi everyone My daughter will be appearing on britains got talent tonight in the final . She is part of the group sign along with us, which is a group for people with both disabilities and abilities . They also are promoting the use of sign language to communicate with people who are unable to communicate vocally. I'm fully aware BGT won't be everybody's Cup of tea but would really appreciate it if you could vote for the group she is in to win as what they are trying to do is for a very good cause. If You download the app and you get 5 free votes. Many thanks
  13. I would snap your hands of if we got stats anywhere near this, this season!
  14. Rovers current recruitment, scouting and data analysis department consist of six members of staff based in Brockhall analysing hours after hours of video footage, that is in addition to three data analysts. Rovers also has on top of that regional scouts that cover games around the UK, plus scouts that operate around Europe scouting players. Bruno Reis overseen the European scouting department and Stuart Harvey overseen the overall department So you are looking at around 15 to 20 people working within these departments. So a lot of time setting this structure up, investment and hiring the
  15. Championship Trivia Quiz Johnson (8.61) and Armstrong (8.36) are rated the best two players in the Championship right now on whoscored.com. We have a third player in the top 10. Who is he? Unsurprisingly BJ and AA make the “team of the week” but who are the other two Rovers to make the team? Of the 335 players rated by whoscored.com, 4 of the bottom 6 come from the same team….which team? Our current, worst player (of the regular outfield players) comes in 101st on whoscored.com, Who is he? As an aside, this is a far better
  16. I just posted in the football italia thread and it got me feeling all nostalgic. Early 90's when there wasn't that much coverage on TV and football wasn't in your face 24/7 I couldn't get enough of them, Match, WSC, 90 Minutes & a bit later FourFourTwo being my favourites, but in truth I would get anything I could get my hands on. I also remember my grandad showing me some shoot magazines that he had in his loft from the 70s around that time and thinking it looked like a completely different game. Did anyone else used to collect football magazines before football turned in t
  17. I've made 3 Rovers wallcharts for this season which are completely free unless you want to make a donation of which 50% goes to mind charity. You can request the high quality versions through this Request Form or from this website www.wallcharts360.com. Hopefully I'm alright sharing on here
  18. People in and around football say things all the time. Some insightful, some nonsense, some downright funny. What are your favourites? I'll start with a classic from Cloughie: 'I wouldn't say I'm the best manager, but I'd say I'm in the top one.'
  19. Well that is not something you see every day!
  20. @rovers_ES has anyone else noticed these Colombian pals on Twitter ?
  21. Apologies if the wrong section, but this is driving me mad!... My first match watching Rovers was when Rovers beat WBA at the Hawthorns 1-0. It was either 21 March 1987 (86/87 season) or 12 December 1987 (87/88 season). I know Alan Ainscow scored the winner and Simon Barker missed a penalty. I can’t find a line up online for either game. Anyone able to help?!
  22. Greetings all! I am trying to improve my Rovers DVD/highlights collection does anyone know where I can find previous highlight/goals dvds/vhs? I have some of the most recent seasons, but looking to start from the initial Premier League season all the way to the present day. 1st hand/2nd hand I am not fussed with condition. Could even be digital/online versions. Any help would be graciously received. Dirk Copland
