  1. Now this might be incredibly stupid question, but well here goes trying! I've been a Rovers fan, probably ~15years now. I was a huge fan of Tugay when he was playing for Blackburn. He was such a natural midfield maestro with great technique.. and great shooting. Anyway, I remember back in the 'early days of youtube', watching one goal highlight by Tugay, whichs' commentary is just stuck in my head. It was a "regular" Tugay type Goal of the Season contender. Thunderbolt from 30 yards out etc.. There are currently some videos in Youtube of Tugay goals for Blackburn but I cant find that
  2. What team would everyone play on Tuesday night? Walton Nyambe Lenihan Adarabioyo Bell Chapman Travis Davenport Downing Graham Armstrong Not ideal having Downing wide but in the absence of any competent wingers at least one of him and Armstrong will have to play there. Very much a pragmatic 442, not Armstrong as a number 10. Johnson and Rankin Costello should be taken out. No more strikers out wide bollocks. No Samuel near the 18.
  3. Good morning everyone, I hope this is okay to post here – if not, moderators please move or delete as appropriate. I’m part of a team at the University of Sheffield, led by Dr Chris Stride. We've published a number of academic papers and magazine articles relating to football history, on subjects such as statues and replica shirts (see, for example sportingstatues.com, and https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/17460263.2019.1578255). Our current project is investigating the music that football teams have run or walked out of the tunnel to over the years. We are looking
  4. I have a spare ticket for the Charlton away fixture, message me if you want it. Free of charge, pick up before game in pub. Alex, DM me - 07506 667302
  5. Rovers giving Man City a 4-1 showing at Ewood November 1950 Div 2 Lovely footage of a near 40,000 crowd
  6. Apparently there has been a lot of talk about this at the fans forum tonight. I wasn’t at the meeting, but apparently the big news was this: We are right on the cusp of breaching FFP rules The plan was to sell Dack this window to remain compliant Since his injury they have looked into a sale and lease/buy back of Ewood. They decided against this due to the ACV on the ground. Other avenues are being explored. So I wouldn’t expect any signings this window.
  7. I don't know if any of you use it, but I do. It's slowly becoming, over the last two seasons, the bane of my life. It ruins the last five minutes of games for me because I know it's coming. It's the most poorly designed, accident-waiting-to-happen parking space ever created. The mad rush as the gates open, the near misses, little bumps, beeping and chaos that ensues after every game. It's an absolute nightmare. There's such a simple fix to it, a one way system, block off the ends of some rows etc... Have people directing traffic in there. It takes me, sometimes, over 30 minutes to leave the st
  8. Does anyone ever bother to read them or am I a bit sad? Thought it would be worth starting a thread to share them, not to go on and be clowns winding them up but just to read their opinions both on us and their own teams. So I was browsing a Wednesday one earlier, understandably in meltdown. Some stark comparisons to here though some of the comments particularly regarding Monk. https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/forum/3-sheffield-wednesday-matchday/ Worth a read if you get a few mins.
  9. This is a game that really doesn't capture the imagination whatsoever. I would be more than happy for TM to try out the fringe players in this match. Obviously I would be happy if we won but wouldn't be too disappointed to lose.
  10. Does anyone know the date for the next Supporters Consultation Meeting ? Last year it was 22 Nov so normally it should be announced now, seeking attendees and agenda. Josh , who is attending from BRFCS ? Can we start a process of getting serious questions from members ? e.g. PM to you or whatever. Finance and Governance of OUR club.... not listening to Mowbray talk about being a lad kicking a lump of coal about.
  11. Despite differences of opinion, we're all ultimately united by a common love. Wishing all fellow Roverites a happy and prosperous 2020. We Are The Rovers!!!
  12. Hi i have a spare Preston ticket for Blacburn end Block 4 Row 11 seat 128 (£10), and if anyone is strugling to get to Forest on Wednesday i am driving down with spare seats ..
  13. Don't phone it's just for fun. So imagine you're working for Rovers PR Machine (lolz). The half season tickets are on sale. What's your Marketing Slogan? I want one based on Fantasy and then one based on current Reality. Shoot! ....
  14. Just to echo what we’ve said on Twitter...massive thanks to everyone who has contributed to the site in whatever capacity; IT, mod, podcast panelist, podcast guest, thread contributions, articles, or just having a good old read or listen to the stuff we put out there...we appreciate it and when we get positive feedback to something we have tried or created it really makes our day. #wedoitforlove ? Merry Christmas everybody...?? ?
  15. Championship Trivia Quiz 1. Which Swansea player is rated 4th best in the Championship by whoscored.com .......unsurprisingly after watching his performance against us! 2. Who is the highest rated Rover? 3. There are only 3 more Rovers in the top 100; who are they? 4. What is our position in the “form table” (last 6 matches)? 5. Dack and Armstrong lead our goalscoring chart but who is in 3rd place? 6. Who is rated our worst player (has to have played Fairly regularly)? 7. Which 2 Rovers made it into the Championship “team of the week” (based on Bri
  16. Hi all, I'm on a flying visit over Christmas week back from Shanghai to take in a couple of games and see my parents/family. I'll be going to the Wigan game and have a ticket for the Birmingham game on Boxing Day. I have a problem though, I'm staying with my ageing parents near Eccles and Boxing Day transport means there is no way to get back after the game. I was wondering if any of the good folk here would be travelling back in that direction on that day and might be able to help me out (I'll be on my own). Anywhere in the vicinity of Manchester central or north, Salford, Eccles, Swi
  17. I always thought Nicky Summerbee played for us. I had a vague memory of him playing a few games in our promotion season with Souey. Turns out he never donned the famous blue n' white halves. Anyone else have any false memories of Rovers history?
  18. Following on from the player of the decade lets try team of the decade. Difficult with this as we've played at 3 different levels during the last 10 years, the success criteria for this is very subjective. nominees??? I've definately missed some. GK. Robinson, Raya, RB. Nyambe, Salgado, Baptiste LB: Givet, Spurr, Williams CB: Samba, Givet, Hanley, Duffy, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Centre Mid: Dunn, N'Zonzi, Smallwood,Reed, Travis, Evans, Cairney Wingers: Bennett, Conway, Hoilett, Marshall, Armstrong, MGP, Bradley Dack position: Dack Strikers: Yaku
  19. Issue 99 is here! For just £1.50, we've got a bumper 40-page fanzine to keep you entertained over the festive period. It includes a concoction not to be found anywhere else, such as a celebration of goals scored AGAINST Rovers, a 1190-word homage to Bengali-Fodé Koita, an examination of cult Rovers stickers, the discovery of a Rovers fan in Zambia and an answer to the VAR offside problem – footballers minus an arm. There’s plenty of other stuff too including: Fan Column Bingo, From The Terraces, The Very Strange Rovers Job Advert, Rhodri the Dragon’s ‘Voice From The Valleys’, Saturday Kitchen
  20. Can anyone tell me the prices for Huddersfield away and Nottm forest away? Thanks.
  21. Having watched every game that our current keeper CW as played i find it very strange on how he actualy attempts to keep the ball out of the net..Now i am not one to call players as they all make mistakes have a bad game etc but for me CW apears to have paddles on the end of his arms instead of hands which is a big factor for a player that can actualy legaly handle ther ball (in hids box)...I have seen to many ocassions were he could have quite easily have caught the ball gather it and use it to his advantage and i am not talking of 90mph shots at him ..There were yesterday and other matches
  22. Hello all. I was just wondering if anyone could help me. I purchased the attached jersey on eBay for what was a very low price to be fair. It was advertised as a BRFC 2002-03 signed jersey. I am just wondering would anyone be able to recognise any of the signatures? Thank you
  23. This absolutely breaks my heart, non-footballing staff at Bolton havn't been paid and are so desperate that a local charity has set up a food bank specifically for them. In a time when football knows almost limitless resources this is disgusting. The players have the PFA as a safety net, but the rest of the staff don't have anything to fall back on. I'm sure they'd appreciate any support available from up the M61 ...
