This last weekend the entrepreneurs of football denied the fans by refusing to let the manager field his strongest team.

The only benefit of all the media coverage of this restriction on Robbie Savage plying his trade at St Andrews was the over-shadowing of a dismal display by the Rovers, who appeared to have signed off for the summer.

The only consolation being that Jon Stead managed to double his goal tally for the season.
