Alan75 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Two goals by Benni McCarthy gave Rovers a well deserved 2-1 win away against Bolton this afternoon. After a goal less first half were Rovers had dominated the play, they were rewarded for their attacking display with two second-half penalties. McCarthy scored both, the first after David Bentley was fouled inside the area by Gary Speed and the second after Benni had been brought down by Abdoulaye Faye. Anelka did give Bolton some hope towards the end when he hit a low angled shot past Friedel, to make it 2-1, however Bolton were denied a share of the spoils when Faye header was disallowed in the dieing minutes.
