The relegation "six pointer" has been unsurprisingly tense, but it has been the away side that shaded a close first half. Wolves started brightly, but Rovers soon found their feet and began to push forward with increasing confidence. Rovers' midfield began to control the game, with Formica at the heart of most of the away side's good play. Yakubu had a string of half-chances as Hoilett and Olsson's pace caused the Wolves' back four trouble, but it was the home side that should have taken the lead when Ward blazed wide when it looked easier to score. As the half drew to a close, Rovers won a throw-in and after Wolves failed to deal with Pedersen's long throw Hoilett slid in to volley the ball into the far corner. View full article
