It had been reported earlier today that the 25-year-old Scotland international had indicated that he wanted the leave Rangers. Rovers chief executive John Williams has confirmed on the official Rovers web site : "I can confirm that we have now made a formal offer to Rangers." Former Rangers manager Graeme Souness added: "I have known Barry Ferguson since he was about 12 years old. "I have admired him as a player for years and he is one I believe would do really well in the English Premier League. He is a player I would love to have in my team."
