  1. Probably many of you don't know Sigur Rós but they are one of my favourite bands ever.

And on the 13th of February, my birthday, I will get to see them live again (the other concert I saw of them was one of the best concerts I ever saw).

It will be in Oporto's Coliseum, great venue and quite intimite.

Too make it even better, the band (or one of their people) offered me 2 tickets for the concert.

I wrote to them to try to know if they were going to sell more tickets since it was reported they had sold out.

They answered back, offered 2 tickets and put my name on their guest list. Best birthday present ever!!

Wow that's brilliant, I've seen Sigur Ros a couple of times including a few months ago and they really were brilliant. Especially the most recent time. Finishing the gig with Untitled 8 is a masterstroke.

  2. Not really I was just over a few weeks ago and went to Bukhara for food one evening as well as visiting friends in Liverpool.

But there's so much in and around Liverpool and Manchester that again would be surprising that Stevie G would end up at Bukhara. Seems remarkably coincidental seeing as the restaurant has had bad publicity recently (which to be fair sounds like it has mitigating circumstances) and the poster in question has showed a soft spot for Liverpool FC before...

  3. Do you have a picture of Gerrard at the Bukhara? I have to say I find it hard to believe he would go all the way to a restaurant in between Blackburn and Preston as opposed to Liverpool and Manchester.

I do enjoy the food at Bukhara, but something seems odd...

  4. Personally Its very rare that i catch a taxi, so if i where to catch one on Xmas day of all days id be content(not happy!) to pay a few quid extra and even though Muslims don't celebrate Xmas the way we do(if at all) you have to remember officially its still a bank holiday and i know i wouldn't work a bank holiday (even if its only for a mickey mouse royal occasion that means d-to-the-K ta me).

Exactly. It's perfectly reasonable for them to charge extra on a bank holiday. Do they charge extra on Eid?

Yet another excuse for theno to display his prejudices.

  5. Seeing a bunch of great acts (including some of my musical heroes) in Sydney over the next few months:

    Radiohead (twice)

Harvest festival with Beck, Sigur Ros and Grizzly Bear

    Primal Scream

    Tame Impala

    Spiritualized (at the Opera House)

Laneway Festival with Yeasayer, Bat for Lashes, Alt J, Japandroids, Jessie Ware etc

    My Bloody Valentine

Future Music Festival with Prodigy, The Stone Roses, Bloc Party etc

Also picked up Glastonbury tickets for the summer which I'll be flying back for.
