  1. i remember the good old days when the rovers store was where blues bar now is...that place was bloody huge and had all manner of rovers crap! (meant in the nicest possible sense)...but on the rare occasion i make it to ewood these days i'm always gutted at how rubbish it is.

although saying that i did stumble across a nice website for 'team' scarves if anyone is looking for a crimbo present for some one (thinking of getting one for my dad)

  2. nolan and roberts both read very well in their articles for the bbc website, not exactly deep philosphical statements or anything, but they both seem like pretty on the ball (pun intended) fellas.

Ripley had a degree in French or some such didn't he?

roy hodgeson seemed incapable of stringing more than a few words together on tonights commantaty however...

  3. this thread is far too depressing for words...god imagine if we hadn't just gone insane after winning the title and ###### everything up!

even with out the money of the bigger teams, if we hadn't sold off most of the champion squad with in a few years and built on it...

i heard a rumour that uncle jack was very much against having lots of foreign players, and we could have had the likes of zidane (albeit circa 94 or so but still...)

god knows how true that is...

i feel getting rid of king col was worst.

    karba diawarra anyone?

  4. i think as long as you don't rub it in their faces (most) real fans don't really mind the odd away supporter...i know it pisses me off when i sit with my folks (just to the left of the directors box/squashy seats) and away fans get up and cheer..mainly cos i'm generally in a bad moodat that point. But if they just sat there and watched the game i wouldn't mind.

I sat with the geordies last season and not a problem was had...although i was just to the right of the smattering of away fans that went up...so in theory i could have hidden with them...or something.

  5. does anyone happen to know the scoreline from this game?

    (found it, it was 4-1)

oh and talking about prodigies, does anyone some english kid that was on ajax's books 10-14 years ago?

i remember when i was at school we always watched this video on Ajax's youth policy and they had this long haired english kid...christ knows what his name was, but i always (well, once in a while) wonder what became of him.

  6. Lets just hope they get good staff in to serve the thirsty hordes.

    not a chance mate,

i used to work on the bar at ewood, they get paid around 17 quid a game (5 hours or so work normally) so there isn't much perogative to work hard!

me and this asian kid i was working with getting racially abused by a citeh fan (cos i shouldn't have been working with him apparently ) was enough for me to quit after 3 games!

personally i'm a tight wad student who likes nothing more than cheap as ###### lager (£1.70 grolsch...SOLD!)...but don't judge me too harshly, i'd have enough money for expensive beer and tax and that...but i've got alot of sleeping and sitting about to do...getting a job would vastly reduce that so i'm at bit stuck...

  7. definately improved overall in the forwards situation in my opinion.

bellamy was in a class of his own, but getting rid of dikov and kuqi falling way down the pecking order (even though i do like him and he's good for a big lumbering powerhouse type).

2 proven goal getters, 1 with everything to prove and 2 good young forwards.

    the futures bright etc...
